[v1.7] 39k+ DPS with INFERNAL BLOW, +239% life, +6.8% regen, +145% armor, TRIPLE curses + blinds!
After seeing the different possibilities enabled by the addition of Melee Splash to this build, I was wondering: do any of the recent updates warrant significant changes to the passive tree for this build? Are two-handers still the most viable equipment choice for SC? Any advice from those more experienced in this build would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hey there,
I've been rocking this build for a while... and now that I'm in merciless, I am dying A LOT. Not sure what I'm doing wrong... Here's my current build: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUAAnEEsw48D1QUIBRNFHEYXRkuGjgaVR0UJd8n7S3SMok26DpSOthEckbXTdhQR1BQVElVxlcNV-JZ813GXz9gbWEhZKNmnnKpdud35XzZgziExITZh2qKdIx2jM-PRpBVkGyYrZ2Ans2nCKcwp4SpaKmUrKq53cAaz2XQ0NIh1I_ZYdrd3fPfv-dS7DjvDvIv9kj60g== And gear: HALP |

Stack gear with life and resists.
Don't worry about dealing damage, pick the life % passive nodes and the life regen ones. What kills you? That's the question. It can't be everything. Must be certain enemy or an elemental type. With low lightning resists, you could get shock stacked, which would increase ALL damage by 120% dealt to you. In other words, your health pool would be roughly 35% of what it actually is when you aren't effected by the shocks. There's a massive difference between ~3000 and ~1000 hit points, wouldn't you say? :) Path of Exile basically "requires" you to trade. It's half the game! Go trade some better gear, you simply cannot keep pushing forward with only gear you've just found. At the least, you will need to grind areas for better loot. One such place could be earlier merciless areas or simply areas like Felshrine in previous difficulty setting. Hope that helps! Thanks man. It's usually elemental casters that mess me up. I'm going to try and farm some stuff so that I can actually get some better gear, cuz mine isn't the greatest. I've been owning up until this point.. so that must be it. Time to stack some life! Wooo. Any suggestions on my tree that I should regret? I have a few and was thinking of dropping some things for life %

Last week in school this semester. I should have some time to play again on summer. Perhaps fix that video this build is missing as well as some occasional streaming action!

Why do you use Wrath? Is it not counter productive to Elemental Equilibrium? (I didn't read through all pages so please forgive me if the answer is already buried there somewhere)
Is the build viable with just 2 curses? I don't have any uniques that grant an additional curse. I want to try an Infernal Blow build too, but right now I'm not sure if I should simply copy your build or go with my own approach. What I don't like too much is Blood Magic (excludes % based auras) and Endurance Charges (keeping them up can be be a real pain). The build I'm thinking about favors Eldritch Batterie, Iron Reflexes and Inner Force over Endurance Charges and Blood Magic. I have no experience with Eldritch Battery tough and have no clue how much mana regen this build requires to not starve on mana. I see the following pros compared to your build: + can use 2 % based auras which gives a lot of flexibility (Purity, Determination are most obvious though) + Grace + Inner Force + Determination + some Armor/Evasion nodes gives more consistent damage reduction compared to Endurance charges (its still possible to use 4 of them) + Purity + Inner Force gives more consistent resistances than Endurance charges + Inner Force affects Molten Shell and Infernal Blow + more HP (auras do not eat HP) Drawbacks I see the following: - leveling is harder because key stones are spread all over the skill tree (could be a potential show-stopper) - a lot less life regen - mana regen could be an issue (I'd like to run without mana pots) - need to go 1H + Shield (not enough 2H damage nodes) --> less DPS, only 1 5/6L - less phy & elem damage increase nodes --> less DPS Any thoughts on my build? Greetings.
Blood magic is really suberb. You really shouldn't be afraid of it. Sure, it breaks % -based auras somewhat, but keeping endurance charges up isn't hard at all. Wish I had a video up now to show that to you. With faster casting / Inc. AoE the enduring cry cast time is so fast and the area is rather massive. In hack & slash 15 seconds (or whatever they last buffed) is a long time. Keep in mind that every time you recast it, the timer will be refreshed for all the endurance charges. I would run this with 3 curses, since they really give you a massive benefit compared to anything else you could instead of them. Perhaps you should just party with someone who has purity/determination, or give it a try without those, following the build. I think you might be surprised how well it all turns out with proper gear. Wrath increases damage, simple as that. The target is already vulnerable to fire when you hit it, although part of the damage is lightning based at that point. Then again, when you occasionally hit the target when it's fire resistant, the wrath deals some extra damage.
