[1-2.0] CoC Sci/Sha/Ran/Due with Block - Song of Ice and Fire. Cheap. Fun. Nerfed
Can somebody explain to me what the frostwall actually does in the CoDT, i am pretty sure its related to lightning thorns but i dont know exactly why it helps.

" Nothing to do with L.Thorns, it's just a defensive bonus against melee mobs. IGN: Chundaziri

" molten shell on the low CWDT is a big waste imo your not depending on armor anyway and with its small output at low level not worth it ill probably go with frostwall or maybe something else if i can come up with a nice combo also i prefer the vaal cyc over the vaal ST because if i pop off a crit flask i pretty much always have seen the EK proc but maybe swap it out for LGOH instead of conc effect since it kills quickly anyway |

i use summon skeleton in there.extra meatshields.
I got my rat's nest today but kinda having hard time with resist as the goldrim gives a very high resistance.kinda feel like a glass canon. |

" I expect frost wall to add some protection from lightning thorns. Here is how I see it. I crit with ST and spells begin firing. First wave hit thorns and damage me. Frost wall is erected. My spells hit a wall instead of thorned mob. AoE hits less number of thorned mobs or none at all. |

Picked up a tabula last night and will be beggining this build tomorrow. I read every page start to finish and all of the discussions. Is there pros or cons to starting as shadow or scion or are they pretty much the same? Looking forward to getting this up and running over the next few days.

" From what I remember they're pretty similar. (I played it as Scion, my friend played it as Shadow.) He did report some mana problems at various points as shadow, but I think that's because he's dumb and expected to stand there spamming ST all day long and never go oom. Personally, I like Scion better. Much more intuitive tree imo, and you have easy access to EE for lvl31 when you switch on the CoC. +1 Shavs Project -----> /1075009

" EE isnt required at all that early... ele weakness is enough for mapping low maps (i even use crit weaknis if i run into non resistent mobs), im 65 doing 66-67 maps i got laying arround from other chars, without EE, and im playing in invasion, peace of cake so far. cant imagine what happens when i upgrade or when i respecc into the good old EB/MoM/AA/IR combo arround 75 (got enough currency saved up for 5l cloak of defiance+rainbowstriders now, just need some few skill points more) my skilltree at 65: my kinda bad items (big upgrade on life/res/crit waiting in stash)
Spoiler
dont take some gems serious, im trying out lw+rd against whirling, some vaal cyclone/spectral to find whats working in maps best. Last edited by DerKobold16#7234 on May 5, 2014, 2:36:46 PM

" Ya I like Scion better. And no Derkobol, you don't need EE that early. But you have that option. If you look back through the thread you can see the gear setup I was running on my lvl85 Scion with this build before I moved to my current low life ST Scion. My gear was pretty good, and can prob be acquired for under 25-30 exalts total. (the only pricy item I used was 6l Carcass Jack) That setup got me pretty high dps, at least for a life based character. +1 Shavs Project -----> /1075009
