I'm surprised people are enjoying an orb that entire purpose is to most of the time mess you over with double the RNG of anything else.
Next we should have the dark matter orb that reroll your items into a entirely new one of the same class of any version.
You're surprised that people playing a game almost entirely based off of RNG are enjoying more RNG?
Actually when most people say "RNG" they mean from what you begun with plus a chance of getting something better.
Alch on white item > Always something better, chance to get something good.
Chaos orb > Reroll an item with chance of being better (with a large variety), can be worse if your item was pretty good
Exalt > Adds an affix to an item, can be crap and a waste you always have your starting point.
ect.
Divine > Reroll it within a certain range, can be better or worse but you always still have the item in relative power.
Vaal orb is the only actually "RNG" in the game were you can literally "go back in progression" -or have it completely destroyed- (with your items being completely bricked, unable to ever change again) which is what most people complain about, but this is the orb they are enjoying the most.
Must admit that I dislike this new orb. I'd rather it modified your existing item slightly...or did nothing. Soon as you start breaking things it going to make people unhappy, and imo that isn't a good thing.
It's like taking the poor implimentation of socketing and linking...and taking it a stage further. At least sockets and links you can fix eventually, but this basically just destroys your item with no hope of return.
The Vaal orbs negative effects are too great. It kinda feels like a massive "fuck you!" to the player. You should at least keep sockets/links on an item that's being rolled. And uniques should at least only lose a mod instead of the entire item. but hey, maybe I'm just sour.

vaal orbs are the first real item sink poe has ever had.
