This is an extremely typical interview - Chris did about 8 of these in nearly the exact same format where he was showing everything he wanted to show... I snorted at 12:00 where he was worried that the items players spent hours of their life attaining would suddenly become "kind of crap" the moment the expac hit that he was sensitive to this because typically that would happen when new xpacs come out... at about 13:00 he is saying the worst is that it would become corrupted.

You tell me how to interpret that shit.


I think I'm being trolled here - someone is. Be that the players reporting the 6L shit OR Chris. Either way something is fucking way off here in what Chris was saying in ALL interviews vs what is happening in game with that currency.

It's almost like a huge fucking set up to screw players out of their items.

Of course this is the player's fault. Here is his/her thought process: "Wow, I bet if I use this Vaal Orb, my already amazing item will be even more amazing." Was it really reasonable to think that he/she would have the opportunity to improve an already amazing item (a unique even!) without any risk at all? A rare unique is already extremely powerful; the ability to upgrade such an item without consequence would be overpowered. GGG gave us all of the info we needed about these orbs; people simply saw a chance to become more powerful (or more likely rich) and acted far too hastily.

I don't care about communication, i care about THE GAME.
Unsocket + unlink + reroll + lock => OVERKILL nonsense.

Added a new currency item: Vaal Orb. It corrupts a target item, modifying it unpredictably. Once an item is corrupted, further currency cannot be applied to it. This includes restoring imprints. There are many possible outcomes of corruption, some of which may be undesirable. Consider its use carefully!
