[1.1.1b] [Incinerate EB-MoM-Witch ] [Beginner Friendly] [March 28th Update][+Bonus Build]

Can somebody explain why we're running discipline with this build? say we have 1000 mana, if it takes 50% of that to run the aura and it gives 300 mana, we're losing 200 mana. What's the point of that?
Discipline scales with all the energy shield nodes so in reality its alot more than the 300 ES that the tooltip says we get from the aura itself. For example, in a similar EB build I am using my disciple gives 260 ES, but this ends up to be around 750 Mana. This also spikes our mana regen due to increasing maximum mana pool, which is nice to have and what you generally need for arctic armour/sustaining whatever spells you use and MoM (wouldn't be very nice if you don't regain that mana lost fast enough)

Of course if you take alot of mana reserved nodes and account for the reduced mana gem its far from the base 60% mana reserved too. Currently my 60% auras reserve only 29% So in the end its a low price to pay with great gains.

Okay good to know, at the moment it is taking more than it is giving for me, but I will keep leveling it up for future testing and use. Thanks for the reply!

Also even while leveling if it's taking more mana than it's giving, it's still increasing your maximum mana which increases your mana regen (so you can use a higher lvl AA and use MOM more efficiently).

I still die quite easily, and it's been hampering my leveling.

So I wanted to improve my survability, and replaced this:

with this:

I bought it white, and have been trying the chaos game, but as this is my first char, this is the first time I try this - so I'm not sure when to be content.

My main problem is my low defense, so I'd like as high arm/evasion as possible, but more mana helps alot as well , with better mana regen, and more mana available for mind over matter. Life is of course very nice, and although I'm resist capped, if my armour got some resits, it would give me more freedom on other slots. My chaos resist is only -32

I had one roll which had:
564 armour
1044 evasion
482 ES
8 Fire resist
8 Cold resist

Another with
553 armour
553 evasion
163 energy shield
93 life
28 fire resist
23 lighting resist

But I'm fast finding out that this chaos game is expensive :)

Should I keep rolling it, and when should I stop? What can I expect? Item lvl is 72

Rest of my gear if your wondering:
Spoiler

My stats atm: 4396 life, 3848 defense (27%), 3416 mana where I can use 630. 155 mana regen.
Tooltip DPS: 3492, 102% IR (158 with culling)

Any tips would be apriciated :)

Just wanted to pop in and say this is my favourite build to play thus far. I've currently got 412(!) mana per second regen. It's insane.

My gears:
I was playing another eb/mom build but with EK and I've been thinking to switch to incinerate so i can drop hatred. I wanted to share an observation i found recently.

First of all it's a good idea to spec into sovereignty instead of the body and soul cluster. This way you can run clarity + 3 60% auras. Secondly, if you get mana regen on neck/rings you can actually manage about 300mana/second without using discipline. This lets you use grace/determination/haste instead which gives you free 15k armor оr if you dont want haste you can go triple purity + grace + determination and never die. Just food for thought.

I died 2 times in the 30s. Might be a great build if u have the gear for it, but beginner friendly is something else.

Even my rainOfarrow build has nearly 2 times the health/deff
Idk if anyone else is running the bonus build, but I just got to merc with it. Noticed my resists were negative (lol) so I replaced most of my gear. After replacing one more ring and my ammy I should have elemental resists capped. Even with my fire/cold res in the 30s, a1m has been a breeze so far.

Grabbing Written in Blood then the 4 nodes that end in Assassination next. Unlike the OP's build, I will not be taking harrier. I don't use movement speed, and I'd get better bang for my buck putting 3 points toward berzerking for 18% atk speed than the 10% for 2 points with harrier.

When I run both damage auras I only have about 200 mana left unreserved. For now, that's been enough for MoM to be very effective, but I'm guessing I'll need to boost that a bit in the coming levels. I'm considering grabbing mana geyser. 2 points for 10 int, 24% max mana, and 40% increased mana regen.

Here's the gear so far. Keep in mind that I started this game a little over a week ago.

Does anybody have any suggestions about weapon crafting? Would it be worth it to purchase a high ilvl Ambusher and roll my chaos on it?

What is your current DPS ?

Your dagger could be greatly improved, you should try to find a dagger with 8+ critical strike chance.

Ambusher daggers are very good because they can roll 2+ attack speed and 9+ critical strike chance.
But it can be hard to roll both on the same object.

Rolling chaos on a 77+ ilvl Ambusher is a good way to obtain a dagger with good AS an CC.

You can also play the Alteration game to obtain a good AS or CC (you can't get both on a magic item) and then try a Regal Orb in order to obtain the mod you didn't get before (AS or CC).

But this approach requires lot of luck and can be very expensive.
I have crafted this one using the Alteration/Regal method :
