I posted in this thread a few days ago asking if Three Dragons would be good for this build since it'd save us a gem slot (fire dmg shocks).

I think the consensus is since incinerate doesn't crit, you're not going to benefit from the effect...but we could be wrong!

Let' us know how it works out.

I just realized something...

Flammability has an increased chance to ignite. All things being equal, with Three Dragons does this translate into increased chance to be shocked?

You might lose some dps by not using elemental weakness, but it doesn't affect chaos damage anyway...
Would the Thief's Torment ring be ideal for this build? Life + Mana leach pr hit on em, or is there something better?

Any uniques/tweaks that would make this build a ton better in general? Money isnt a issue here.
thief's torment is "+15 Mana gained for each enemy hit by your Attacks ".
won't work with spells.
there's berek's grip though (5% mana leech against shocked enemies) that works pretty well. it let me replace mana leech support with faster casting.

also, just throwing a crazy idea out there for anyone who got money to throw off at testings :
how about double void battery, romira's banquet and some power charges in the passive tree?
instability and overcharge keystones are crazy easy to get (2 points each) and critical mass is 4points away.
could even add the power charge from bandits on merciless.

Thats interesting actually. But I still think the overall better choice is still "added lightning". It adds almost as much dps as "faster casting". The helmet iteself is aside from the intresteing effect quite stat-less. I cant stress the importance of "Life". This build doesnt really feature that many %Life nodes to really be able to skip it on items too much.
Also added lightning greatly increases the individual hit numbers that account into our "Life Leech".

Buuuuuuuuuut.... if youre playing softcore or cant afford a good enough rare helemt that has all the stats it might prove to be a valueable replacement to fill this gap.

Dont get me wrong, it sometimes seems as I might bash on your ideas. I love experimentation myself and highly appretiate you guys doing this. Maybe there is a way I havent seen yet to strike great benefit out of this.

With this helm you can change added lightning damage with added chaos damage. which should bring better dps and less damage from reflect.

i tried to corrupt my for better stats...
So I just hit lvl 56 on Merc Crematorium.
I took some advice, and so far I'm melting everything I meet, I had a lot of trouble transitioning into Incinerate because I reached Merc too soon (lvl44) because I skipped a lot of maps and quests (rushing is fun).

Anyway, I followed everything the lvling guide said except the skills.

I used Flameblast + Increased Area of Effect + Faster Casting and Decoy Totem + Resistances for it. It was easy as cake, much faster and easier than others IMO, I was taking out everything in cruel in just 1 or 2 casts, bosses didn't take much (Cruel Dom was quite hard tho).

Got a cheap 5Link and Mana issues are not a problem any longer. Unless I use MoM, I guess I'll get it later, right now I have better survivability without it. My gear is crappy and I'm running Purity of Elements to have enough resistances.

Overall, this guide has been very very helpful and I'm actually having fun, much more than the last characters I had. Thanks a lot.
so a EV/ES or AR/ES chest is needed?

cloak of defiance would be good?

Yes but with a 6L you should already have Added Chaos so you would be taking out added lightning for something like faster casting which is kind of a "side-grade" as opposed to an upgrade or downgrade. Seems interesting but I'm gonna go with GornoDD on the fact that a good stat helm and Added Lightning is better. Sounds fun either way though and with a 5L you can still get shocks without sacrificing Added Chaos which is cool.
