I feel it will break the flow of the gameplay and sometimes you might be stun locked by some mobs and it's important to pop it when you are taking a lot of damage.

Note that my CwDT is level 18 so when I'm taking a big chunk of damage the IC will always pop reliably

What's your mind on switching Fire Pen for a Q20 Added Lightning and taking Static Blows ?
That way we don't have to wait traps to recharge, freeing up a 4l.
Speaking of links, what Vaal skills do you consider in this build ?

you will be only gaining 120ish lightning damage after the damage effectiveness penalties. which is not enough to shock most mobs in high level maps

tbh, the trap charges is never a problem, u can usually double shock or triple shock with just one trap usage.

considering the sockets are all filled in this build, there is really no empty sockets for vaal gems. though if you really insist on using one, I'd recommend the vaal fireball for even more aoe dmg, or the cold snap one for your "oh shit" button.

updated tree with 1.2.0

with the new tree the survival stats stayed around the same, however:

- cast speed are greatly increased !
- now with even more skill effect duration!

Some suggestions for the tree:

You skipped over Quick Recovery which has 14% life, 40% mana regen, and some life regen for 3 points. IMO this is better than 15% life from the Scion wheel.

Right above that, you spend 4 points to get into the Witch tree (+10 int for each 4 points). You could go through 2 strength nodes and an int node to connect to Elemental Dominion for 3 points instead, saving you 1 point.

I would suggest looking into Profane Chemistry instead of Thick Skin. It's life lost, but it makes your Seething Flasks heal absurd amounts. We're talking 1.5k+ heals from 1 seething instead of 800-900.

It looks like an interesting build, though. I don't like the idea of MoM + Infernal Mantle, but it's a different playstyle. I personally think using Cloak of Defiance and not spending all those points going MoM to get more damage would be much more efficient, but that's maybe just me.

ye I have those nodes on my actual char, but I don't know why the link didn't include em.

looks really nice on paper. will test it out.

I have explained that point fairly in my post I believe: i have to take around 8k damage (after resistance if it's ele dmg) without me potting and also I have to block literally 0 times, to die against spell damage. even if it's phy spell damage my IC would have gone off by then. the shock stack change furthered my belief that this combo is not dangerous at all; about the damage, the chaos conversion combined with + 1 fire gem makes my damage scale really well comparing to all the increased damage modifier on the tree.

^tl;dr: I just like touhou references :>
