My Idea on how to improve game - FIX CRAFTING
+1 A really nice idea, it would actually be "crafting".
Sadly the game is balanced for a global economy, so we cant have real crafting, only a mega currency sink gambling option. Considering GGG is fine with people wasting 100 ex and not even getting a GG weapon, I'd say that such deterministic (even tho still expensive) crafting option will never be even considered. " Seems fairly easy to me, recipe can't be used for the highest ranges. You can get the Cruel affix, you can't get the Tyrannical affix. A weapon with all the second-highest ranges of exactly the type you want at the cost of 30 rares of the same base plus 6 regals/divines/exalteds seems fair and balanced to me. Have a build in mind that requires some very specific affix combinations? Now you can reliably make a character for it, even without extensive trading as long as you farm enough rares/alchs to craft it, you won't get the perfect item though. If that still feels OP then disable this recipe from being able to add a 6th or even 5th affix to an item. I feel the point of crafting shouldn't be to create BiS items. It should be to reliably craft baseline items to keep up with the many gear checks this game has (to make them doable, BiS items should make them easy). A recipe to get an item with exactly the affixes you need, but never the best ones, reliably but at higher cost would fit in with that. " this, SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPER bored of it tbh. i was pretty exited in closed beta and it seemed to work alot better then maybe due to how small the trading was and no RMT ( i dont mind RMT but RMT makes the orbs of people who work hard worth less and less evry time someone buys them. and this is an issue this says that rmt is killing peoples fun especially any somewhat more solo people who are bad or dont enjoy trading ( they shouldn't be forced to trade there already very small orb amount to buy stuff that is expensive due to the economy being a gamble sink. ) The economy in this game is for Rich people and traders. people who dont trade or have irl % to dump in are usually very unhealthy some of course are lucky ^_^. but i have seen some cases of people playing for many many months without ever getting any good uniques or upgrades for his lvl 79 char that still had very average gear. he ended up dying in hc due to game being impossible. This all just reminds me how flawed the "gamble" system works. gambling is known to be something bad. no wonder people spend real money its just as addicting GGG Did It well for that. addicting to people with $ :) nothing new here. hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D Last edited by Sawm#7368 on Feb 4, 2014, 9:00:11 AM

Edited the Original Post , keep the ideas coming guys. If we fine tune this and make it sound plausible we might even get GGG attention.
Any and all ideas to add are welcome. Coming up with ways to balance the system is key. Thanks for all the replies thus far. Keep'em coming. |

" And people who say that must be playing a different game than I am. In PoE it is very much broken. As long as it is based on luck and RNG, as long as it's gambling basically - it will remain broken. When I buy an item, I know exactly what I'm getting and exactly how much it's gonna cost me. I'm guaranteed a certain quality for certain price. When I craft, I'm not guaranteed anything, I gamble, gamble, gamble some more, I can spend countless orbs, go broke and still end up with vendor trash item. Crafting is the single worst thing in PoE, even worse than desync. 177

Hi
Getting GGG attention is like this: GGG has a severe problem with messaging back on ideas and if they are going to use your idea they are too proud to admit it was your idea and that their grateful for such fans. Great idea though lets add it to the pile. cheers Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.

" No, because it was specifically designed to be that way - a massive trolololo casino currency sink. It's shitty, yes, but its not "broken" or "bugged". It's also designed so that only big traders & RMTers can afford to craft endgame material. You can farm for 10.000 hours and you wont loot enough eternals to gamble even 1 GG item. When night falls

I'm sort of curious what you think of vendor recipes, then (see the gamepedia wiki on the matter).
Perfectly serviceable items out of easily-acquired (and even somewhat straightforward) materials. I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out. Heard its twisted dreamed inanity In a whisper, in a shout. In the babbling cacophony The refrains are all the same: "[permutations of humanity] are unworthy of the name!" |
