[1.3] Templar Summoner a.k.a The Pillager - HC/Bloodlines - Updated

To be honest, I wouldn't even think about nerfs till they hit. Once they do, we'll figure something out.

I was talking to some guys in game, and some of them are using BMs with different setup. For instance, one with inc AOE and another one with Concentrated for those tanky mobs that survive long enough to close in on you. I've never done that, because I never felt that it is necessary. Once I get enough life/resi/armour/es, I roll higher level maps to get one with deamons and snapshot those guys. They simply devastate everything with my current setup.
I've killed Torture Chamber boss last night in 8-10 seconds for instance. And being broke as always, I am using BMs in cheap 5L.

But, since I have a pretty good idea how BMs behave, since I am running this combo for last 10 days, I will go and snapshot them with your suggested combo and give you an update. I hope I have some higher level maps to try it out. RNG gods were not kind to me last couple of days, keep getting 66-67 maps in 72-74s...

[Update] Got remote mine and trap at lvls 19-18, but PoE hates me. 200 chromes later, I can't get the colors I need on my 5L. So I will have to try this out later today when I grind up some currency....

What do you suggest for bandit rewards?
Just kill them all. Other bonuses do not benefit this build.

So if you had to choose, would you spec this build into a marauder or Templar?

I have both and am wondering which I should choose.
Mephixara // Lvl 91 Phys Tornado Ranger
Tynux // Lvl 86 DW Ground Slam Marauder
Ripheuxa // Lvl 90 KB Wander

They are very very similar. It is literally up to you. Templar gets mana regen more int, more max life (better access to nodes after 90). Marauder have crit resi and more regen, better acces to elemental res/armour after 90.

You can see the differences here:

To cut it short, for respec, Marauder. For leveling, Templar. Marauder would be impossible to level as a summoner. Or much much harder. And leveling is hard as is. Normal was the hardest difficulty for me :)

Just my point of view...

Hey guys,

After grinding hundreds of 70+ maps in last week, and not getting even 1 sell-able item out of thousands of them (not even 1c one), I got a bit annoyed so I am taking a short break.
When the new leagues come out, I will remake my templar and update this guide.

Cheers

Sorry to hear, thanks for the inspiration on the build. Currently level 85, blasting through mid-high level 70 maps.. WITHOUT A CHEST ARMOR...

Yep, I'm so lazy I'm just wearing a Tabula Rasa as my chest piece.. and it's not a problem, at all.. that's how good this build is.

Also from my experience in the last few days and hundred maps or so I'd recommend not using the Unique boots. The extra 1 zombie is completely worthless, and the extra spectre doesn't make much of a difference. Not as much as a difference that some awesome MF boots with movespeed would make.

My reasoning is.. if one of your spectres dies... 99% of the time they will all die.

Also I recommend linking spectres with concentrated effect (as the 6th gem, if you have that luxury) .. 30% smaller radius isn't a issue, but the extra damage is huge. I'm using it with a 20% quality spectre so they move very fast anyway, they stick on mobs.

TL;DR

From my experience I prefer good rare boots over the unique ones
As a 6th support gem I think Concentrated Effect is the best for Spectres

Yup, I was using Bones of Ullr on My Templar. I was going for them since my plan was to grab Mon'tregul's grasp, and that thing cut your zombie count by 50%. And 50% of 7 max zombies without boots is 3 :)
As for specters, I switched to:
Raise Spectre + Remote Mine + Minion Damage + Concentrated Effect + Minion Life in my 5l. And it makes a difference. I don't even bother rolling 72+ maps to get deamons now, unless I plan to do 76-78 maps with hard mods. Even in 5l, they simply melt everything.

Ps. I am glad that build is working for you!

Hey,

first off, thanks a lot for sharing your build and ideas, it helped me a lot!! I'm currently running a very similar version on mid-40 levels, it went smoothly so far.

I have a few questions on what to link with the Raise Spectre gem (currently using Tabula) for BMs:

1) Minion Life - pretty much a no-brainer cause it increases their life and via that the damage, right?

2) Increased Burning Damage - this increases the Unrighteous Fire cause that's Fire damage, right?

3) Fire Penetration - I read somewhere that this does not help. Correct?

4) Minion Resistance - Pretty self-explaining to help the Spectre survive

5) Minion Damage - Does this increase the UF damage?

6) Life Leech - Do they leech with UF then? It says 'Specres leech....' when I hover mouse on it, but does it really?

7) Increased Area of Effect - increases the UF range

8) Concentrated Effect - Lower range but higher damage

9) Remote Mine - For the 30% damage increase of the Spectres

Also, let's assume I am running Queen's Decree or Midnight Bargain (or even two) while summoning Spectres, do they keep the mods when I switch gear?

Thanks in advance for your help!
