Melkorr's Righteous Fire Manrauder Using Ondars Guile Nemesis Approved

NOTE: I will try to update this thread as much as possible to make this thread look as appealing to the eye. It will be a mess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been getting questions from people about my Righteous Fire build and so here it is.
There are two options as to which class to use for Righteous Fire, currently there are 2 great options Marauder and Scion. So what are the differences? First off people pick Scion because of her flexibility to change her build completely to another one without much loss due to being in the middle of the tree she can reach most parts of the tree. Now you are here because you want a MANRAUDER Righteous Fire build. The reason why I chose Marauder over the Scion is because He makes use of his starting tree not losing any nodes as the Scion does at the start. They can take the same route when they are higher levels but the Scion I feel wastes 1-4 nodes (being the +12 Hp and 3 regeneration nodes to get out of her tree) but with the Marauder his start feels superior to the Scion in my honest opinion due to the fact that I get maximum effectiveness out of his start and I have no reason why I should need the +12 max HP. That being said it's not up to me to choose for you.

TL;DR Manrauder gets full effectiveness out of his starting area as supposed to the Scion start.

What items do I NEED for righteous fire?
There is only one item that is NECESSARY for righteous fire and that's the Rise of the Phoenix Mosaic Kite Shield. The reason is because of the +8 Max Fire resistance that it provides to use Righteous Fire users. Other than that there really is no NECESSARY items for Righteous Fire.
However that does not mean that there are no items that benefit Righteous Fire there are several items that I use in my build that provide me with maximum effectiveness out of these items.

My Defenses
Spoiler

How do you kill totems?
A lot of Righteous Fire users have trouble figuring out how to deal with totems. Usually I skip them if they are not allies cannot die totems but if they are I use lightning warp and cwdt molten shell explosion proc. Now there is a new option with the buff to Searing Bond it makes killing totems that much easier. Just level up Searing Bond and link it with increased burning damage, and trap (run blood magic if you have no mana) and you can finally deal with totems.

Current Skill Tree LV 92

Summary of Skill Tree
My skill tree is not complete, when I reach level 95 I will have enough regeneration to sustain righteous fire to do Vulnerability and Half regeneration maps but not at the same time.
-Lots of HP
-Elemental Adaptation +2 Max Resistances
-Elemental Equilibrium for Cyclone/Lightning Warp
-52% Aura Effectiveness allows me to have 92% Maximum Fire Resistance.
-Ondar's Guile: You dodge projectiles 50% of the time more if you stack evasion gear which I am currently trying to achieve.
-AOE nodes makes your Righteous Fire radius LARGER and more damage.
-REGEN REGEN REGEN. Helps sustain the burn from Righteous Fire.

Burning Damage and Increased Damage
With the changes to Burning Damage and Increased Damage, you do not burn for more damage but it makes you burn enemies for more damage. Which is a HUGE buff to Righteous Fire. I do not take the burning damage nodes in the tree however because I am optimized around defensiveness and not maximum damage from righteous fire. Do not let me stop you from creating your own variation of the skill tree.

My Gear Set
Spoiler

Burn damage from Righteous Fire
In order to sustain the burn damage that righteous fire does to you, we must first determine the amount of burn damage you take from righteous fire using the formula
"(HP*0.9*[1-(Max fire res/100)])+(ES*0.7[1-(Max fire res/100)])" In my case I have 6603 HP, 179 ES and 92% Max Fire resistance. By inputting these values into the formula
"(6603*0.9*[1-(92/100)]) + (179*0.7[1-(92/100)])" = 485.44
With my stats I burn for 485.44 damage. 485.44 Is also the number that tells you how much life regeneration you need in order to sustain the Righteous Fire burn damage.

Pros and Cons of Righteous Fire
Pros
Spoiler

-Burn baby burn. Who doesn't like watching enemies burn?
-Able to achieve 20k+ DPS Easily
-Fast map clearer when soloing
-Very tanky while sustaining 20k dps
-All you do is run around burn everything while looting items.

Cons
Spoiler

-Can NOT do -max res, blood magic, and no regeneration map mods.
-Depending on your max fire res and your regeneration, you can't do half regeneration or Vulnerability map mods.
This makes mapping extremely expensive for a Righteous Fire character and expensive on others if running in a party because you HAVE to re-roll over these map mods.

Leveling
Since the Rise of the Phoenix shield requires level 65, leveling to that point might or might not be difficult for you. There are different methods in which path to take to level all the way to that milestone. There is the Pillar of the Caged God method in which you acquire strength in all gear if possible to get maximum damage out of spectral throw. Another method for those without much wealth is to level using spectral throw in general with nicely rolled 2handers every 10 levels. The last method is the method that I used personally and it gets really desynch heavy at higher levels (50-65) and this method uses the famous Meginord's Girdle and high Unarmed % damage Facebreakers with the Crest of Perandus shield.

Bandits
Spoiler

Normal: Oak
Cruel: Kill all
Merciless: Help Kraitlyn until you stop using the blood dance boots. Then use 20 Regrets + an Onyx Amulet to gain Eramir's Favor (Passive Point)

Leveling Milestones

Transitioning to Righteous Fire
When you first hit 65 and you put on your Rise of the Phoenix, you will notice that you might not be sustaining the burn damage from righteous fire, I was at this stage once. You will have to play REALLY safe as soon as you transition with righteous fire and use the unique boots The Blood Dance
Spoiler

These boots help you with the extra %life regeneration from frenzy charges when you kill mobs with them on, I advise in getting 25%+. When you level Vitality and Purity of Fire gem to level 16, this is the point where you can start sustaining your burn damage. The maximum fire resistance gains from a level 17 Purity of Fire, Elemental Adaptation from the tree and Rise of the Phoenix should get you to a maximum fire resistance of 88% If you can attain level 17 Purity of Fire and Vitality gems then I would advise so.

How to activate Righteous Fire
Activate your auras first. Then cast righteous fire. You could do that but where's the damage?
Solution?
Spoiler

The 200% increased damage from the redbeaks mean 200% more damage from your Righteous Fire.
How do I activate it?
It's going to take some time getting used to activating double Redbeaks but once you know how, you will get used to it. There is two ways, the first way being wearing the Redbeaks then cast Righteous Fire to bring you down to 1 hp allowing it to turn off and bringing you to the low life mark. As soon as Righteous Fire turns off, pop a ruby flask activate it again, and switch to your Rise of the Phoenix shield.

Gem Links
Spoiler

4l Righteous Fire + Concentrated Effect + Increased Area of Effect + Increased Burning Damage
4l Purity of lightning + Vitality + Purity of Elements + Reduced Mana
4l "LEVEL 1-3" Cast When Damage Taken + Vulnerability + Immortal Call + Enduring Cry
4l Lightning Warp + Faster Casting + Reduced Duration + Blood Magic
3l Cyclone + Life Gain on Hit + Blood Magic
2l In a +3 Fire Gems Purity of Fire + Reduced Mana

You do not have to copy my links. You can customize it however you like all you really need is the 4l Righteous Fire, and 4l Auras. (Purity of Lightning, Vitality, Purity of Fire, and Reduced Mana)

Elemental Equilibrium
In order to proc Elemental Equilibrium, you must use another elemental skill such as arc, ice nova, shock nova etc. I use lightning warp and Cyclone. Cyclone has lightning damage so when I cyclone into a pack of mobs, it procs elemental equilibrium which makes my Righteous Fire do more damage because of their -fire res from EE. I also use Cyclone with Life Gain on Hit to leech some life if there is a huge pack. Lightning warp for the same reason.

Kaom's Heart or Lightning Coil and Purity of Lightning
When I first thought of this build, I wanted to aim for a Kaom's Heart for the 500 Life and Fire damage but then I came across a Lightning Coil in the chat and I thought about it, and the "40% of Physical Damage Taken is Converted to Lightning Damage" got me thinking, what if I used a purity of lightning with this? I concluded that, I do not need to stack armor to mitigate the damage that physical damage done to me but instead use a high level purity of lightning to boost my lightning res to 82% before using a topaz flask making me mitigate more physical damage than stacking armor on gear. This also allows me to think about stacking evasion gear and take Ondar's Guile which boosts my defense even more.
In my opinion 40% Physical Mitigation + Doubles Chance to Evade Projectiles > 500-2000 Life + 20-40% more Fire Damage.

Other gear
Carcass Jack
If you can afford or even find a Carcass Jack I would advise to use it to snapshot Righteous Fire. The 20% Increased Radius of Area Skills and +Increased Area Damage means a stronger Righteous Fire Burn damage to enemies.

Alpha's Howl
This item is just so hard to pass up on. Everything on this item is so useful. +2 Auras to make your Auras more effective, Evasion to help Ondar's Guile and overall Evade, cold resistance, Chance to avoid being chilled, CANNOT BE FROZEN; and 8% Reduced Mana Reserved makes me able to use Purity of Light, Purity of Elements, Purity of Fire and Vitality.
If you can get one, do so.

Searing Touch
More Fire Damage, Burn Damage, +2 Fire gems means more Righteous Fire Damage. I do not take this item because I prefer the double Redbeak snapshot because it provides more damage than snapshotting with The Searing Touch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have any questions do not hesitate to message me in game @Meikorr or post on this thread about anything about my build. I may have missed out on some information but I will try to update this thread as much as possible with any more information about changes to my build.

Good luck out there fellow exiles.

Guys. Can we stop making these threads?

We get it. Someone else uses Blood Dance but you don't. Someone else uses Aurumvorax, but that's dumb. You don't use Health flasks because that other guy in the other thread is just silly.

Seriously, is there a template for RF threads somewhere that you guys are using to post these?
Your criticism is appreciated, however I only posted my build because I have been requested to do so as my build is a slight variation of other RF builds. Items posted in this thread are there so that I can provide insight into how they affect certain builds. For example the blood dance. I have used this item to help me sustain the burn damage from righteous fire when I transitioned into using RF. I should have made it clearer that I have used these boots until I decided that I no longer have use for them. The Blood Dance are really great boots for those new rf users that have trouble sustaining the burn damage done onto themselves because they might not have enough regen or their max fire resistance is not there to sustain that burn. You may hate how there are many other righteous fire builds out there but there are different variations on which build is better for certain players. When did not having to post your own variation and explanation on certain things about a build happen?

Hi,

are you using grace or not? Three 40% auras and Grace wouldn`t work together.

Cheers. :)

Well you could have post it just to one already existing RF guide ;)

I think it would be easier to everyone if we could just talk in one topic, instead of many. Like now there is these 5(?) guides about same build, and in every topic different people ask same questions.

I am not using grace. I just have it in my alphas to level and since getting 4 off colors on an Alpha's takes a lot of chromes, I stuck to the colors I have now.

How do you get 92% fire resistance?

Look at his Weapon. You need a Weapon with +1 Level of Gems and +2 Level of fire Gems. Purity of Fire is at Level 23 in this Weapon and you gain 1 additional % maximum Fire Resistance.
