Lost microtransactions and Closed Beta supporters who bought stash tabs

+1 to GGG. Classy.
While I understand the difficulties surrounding the situation, most shops I am aware of offer partial refunds if an item goes on sale that was recently purchased. Not saying GGG should have such a policy, just responding to a comment about shops not doing this.
Thank you, i just managed to destroy my "Bent Horn". /facepalm when it happend. Great work with fixing this so fast GGG. :)

Also on a serious note, it's getting harder and harder to avoid swear words when posting.
LOL! I feel your pain! The backspace key and the back button in my browser have been vital posting tools for me this past day.

While it's mostly the people complaining, there are also fan-bois who need a biff of the clue-bat. The prime example to me was defending that it was okay to destroy effects after a warning message when there is no rational use-case where a person would ever want do that. I'd say the fact is that Chris was responding to a situation in real-time and did what he could, but if he'd had some time he would have done things differently. Thus the patch will be out in a few days.

I can't even think how to politely address some of the people complaining though. While I know that "buyers remorse" is a not unusual condition, this is the internet and the extremes astonish me. I am also impressed with Chris' self-control in replying. I would have been pretty wounded by all this bitching and probably would have lost it.

That said, I also want to thank Chris/GGG for the stash tab offer. It's a kind gesture.

[Edit add:] Any info yet on how long the initial "On Sale" prices in the shop are likely to last?

Ill leave your support guys and girls alone to handle hopefully far more important things then 1 extra stashtab.

GG on a great open beta launch GGG. <3
Heya, I just have a small question that I'd appreciate if someone could answer.

If I, let say, buy a Fiery Visage, can I trade it between characters on my account infinite amount of times after I've equipped it?

Cheers.

Just the day before launch we changed the behaviour of the effects so that they can be moved between items forever, rather than being consumed when they are used. We're hoping that the policy changes discussed in this post helps solve any concerns players had with how we've been running the shop since launch."

What I do have a problem with is the number of points offered in new packs. The fact that $5 and $10 packs offer less points per dollar than closed beta and the $20 pack offers no bonus points. Then the first pack that offers a bonus at $50 gives you 16 extra points. Nothing in the shop ends in a 6. Everything is a multiple of 5 or 10. If you're spending $50, you should get a completely usable number of points.

Of course you should get a completely usable number of points. Sadly, after all this time of claiming "ethical microtransactions", they decided to do the same generic greedy BS that every other F2P game does.

Between the high prices and nonsensical coin purchasing, they are on route to lose out on profits like every other game. Its getting kind of sad that developers can't learn from others mistakes after all these years.

inb4 troglodyte fanboy suggests I think GGG shouldn't make a profit

We do this because of credit card fees. Smaller transactions have much larger fees. If people spend more in one go then we save money. This allows us to give you more points for those purchases.

If we wanted to be greedy then:
a) We would not have anchored the price at 10 points = $1 for all of Closed Beta (and the most popular $20 pack in Open Beta). Every single other company we found used weird ratios to try to make it confusing what things cost. Here we're happy to say that a 75 point effect is very close to $7.5.

b) We would offer more incentive for the higher packs. As it stands, it's just a few percent. We could have made it 20 points for each dollar for higher packs, but that'd reduce the value of points that Closed Beta members purchased for high packs.

Not to mention the whole free game with no pay-to-win, etc. I understand you're probably trolling me, but it's so frustrating to read this after doing literally everything we could to make it all fair.

I´m very happy about the wise solution you found for the issues this thread is about (even better than my suggestion). That´s why i love you guys...if there´s a problem you always try to find the best solution (in every aspect of the game). I´m pretty sure you will find a solution for the problem above, too.

As far as i understand, the complaints aren´t about the price structure but about how many points you have to buy to get the shop item you want.

A lot of people don´t care about pets or visual effects, but most people will buy stash tabs (that´s where the most money will come from). So it is important for them to get the stash tabs they want without having points left for things they don´t want to buy.

Right now you have to buy 200 points for $20 if you want a premium bundle...perfect.
If you want a normal bundle you also have to buy 200 points for $20.
You have 50 points left and maybe no use for it (another tab costs 30...so 20 left)
The next time you want a normal bundle you have to buy 142 points for $15, because it´s not possible to get 100 points. So you have 42 points left and have to buy another 142 points next time. That´s why people are complaining about the low packages.

The solution for this seems to be easy...offer them 150 points for $15. In my opinion you could delete the lower packages because not many will buy them. If you want to offer a package lower than $15 than it should be around 75 points for $8 (enough for many of the shop items).

ttss tss tss ! Me too I said that when I started playing League of Legends LOLLLLLLL The pets are useless yes (except the special full shiny like the diamond one) but the visual effect wow, you have no idea how much cash they will make with that.

I hope they earn i lot of money with a game they worked hard on the last 6 years (and have to work on the next 10 years)!
