Lost microtransactions and Closed Beta supporters who bought stash tabs

a) We would not have anchored the price at 10 points = $1 for all of Closed Beta (and the most popular $20 pack in Open Beta). Every single other company we found used weird ratios to try to make it confusing what things cost. Here we're happy to say that a 75 point effect is very close to $7.5.

I find it really frustrating when game companies have big sales on currency in addition to store items. It has this weird accordion effect on the value of microtransaction currency. Planetside 2 is a great example. SOE does 3x station cash sales a few times a year, and for a lot of players, they will never buy currency except during one of those sales. Add to that, that many of the weapons and items can occasionally be 50% off in bundles or on sale. That means a weapon which costs one person 7 dollars can cost the next person less than 2 dollars.

I think it is a good idea to keep currency at a stable value.
Great to see this change, I was reluctant to purchase anything previous to this, given what I'd heard about one time use etc.

Thanks!
All good things here. Thanks GGG team, you guys rox my sox.

We do this because of credit card fees. Smaller transactions have much larger fees. If people spend more in one go then we save money. This allows us to give you more points for those purchases.

b) We would offer more incentive for the higher packs. As it stands, it's just a few percent. We could have made it 20 points for each dollar for higher packs, but that'd reduce the value of points that Closed Beta members purchased for high packs.

Not to mention the whole free game with no pay-to-win, etc. I understand you're probably trolling me, but it's so frustrating to read this after doing literally everything we could to make it all fair.

I am not trolling and have a legitimate complaint. During one of your updates you stated that the open beta packs would probably offer better point value because they are not coming with all of the extras included in closed beta.

I intentionally did not upgrade from Kiwi to Bronze because I wanted the better point value. If you would have released this information before open beta began, I probably would have upgraded and been happier with your customer service right now.

If you truly cared about everything listed in your post, you would set values similar to:
$5 = 50
$10 = 100
$20 = 220
$50 = 560
$100 = 1150
$250 = 3100

That keeps similar percentage of bonus point relative to the current prices so customers still have incentives to purchase larger packs and gives a fully useable number for spending on microtransactions.

Closed beta supporters still get better value because of all of the extras included in the original supporter packs, a lot of which are exclusive and will not be offered again.

As it is, there is absolutely no reason to buy the $5 and $10 packs and even the $50 pack feels wrong because you'd have to buy 5 of them not to be left with a few points after making your purchases. I know that's the way most of these microtransaction stores operate, but everything I had seen up until this point indicated that GGG was better than that.

I didn't benefit from the stash tabs or anything(as I waited until after cb to buy mine), but glad to see what was done about it =). Many thanks.

Magnicon2 is an already community recognized bitcher. No response will ever satisfy. If the forums had an up/down voting mechanism, we might be able to insulate you from the notoriously "not worth responding to" trollers.

Part of me would like to see a "pay us if you want to bitch so much" microtransaction. Not realistic, but still, I can dream.

What can I say... my goodness, looks like you lost over $2 there(assuming the kiwi, keys and soundtrack have no value). I expect GGG to post an apology and do the refunding asap.

Also on a serious note, it's getting harder and harder to avoid swear words when posting. I really wish Chris would stop taking such idiotic comments into account.

unreal move Chris..great gesture on your behalf..a company that respect's their people even when things are totally clear..

glad to see that a big portion of people apreciate all your work..and for those that don't maybe the words "free to play" and "not pay to win" game does not really mean anything..well,I guess the absence of "Real Money Auction House" mentality is disturbing for some out there..

anyway, great move on your side GGG..

"GGG supporters : a strange tribe..rumours say they are proud of it"
Chris, is there a limit to when we need to put in a support ticket to request our bonus tabs?

With support as busy as it is with other issues/items, I'm sure myself and many of the others who have lots of tabs already are more than willing to wait a bit and let you guys work on the more pressing urgent support tickets.

Thanks for the bonus and keep up the awesome work!

Mhhh I agree with that guy. I was planing to save my points too to the beginning because I knew that was a non-sence not having tabs pack and ggg had to add it. After I think 2 weeks I decided to use my points because I was playing the game no life and I had no choice because my chest was full. That guys decided to stay with only 4 tabs wow, I hope not for months.

It would be fair to verify the date people bought their closed beta, when they spent their points and their total playing time etc.... It would give a lot of job to do but if ggg can do it, it would seriously be fair. If that guy say the truth, I would give him something based on the price he paid. For 50$, I would give him maybe like 2 extra colored tabs for the trouble if he played the game enough time (that would be an abuse in my book if it would not be the case).

I am absolutely speechless right now. Do you expect GGG to give purchasable features for free to every person with a supporter pack that makes such claims since you can't show actual evidence of these intentions? And it's for the minutest details none the less.

I have to wonder wether they have anything better to do with their team than analyse every case posted on the forums. Like you know... more microtransactions, skills, boss fights, Act 3X, the small stuff.
