hello,
maybe a little out of topic, if i build dual wielding dagger critical flickering, what the pros and cons for that?thx |
|
" That's sweep of you. But i'm in standard. I will try to convert to Poutsos build, but i did already took the 6th frenzey charge at the bottom tree. He did not. the tress are a bit different. He goes took a lot for % more life and all the passives respec rewards are used to remove them when CI. Should i go like him ? or keeping like you ? So if i understand end well, when i put CI, i go with the shield not before. All the swicth of life/ES should be at the same moment. Thank you for your answer. |

" The thing is if I recall he recommends you go VP as well in transition (GR, CI, VP at the same time, the trinity), and while VP is awesome, depending on lvl and content you do you might be able to manage without it. Then there's always regrets. The thing that makes this build "viable" at post lvl 65/70 is your dps and reliance on leech. The 6th frenzy is ok. You should post your tree, but considering the transition, things you have to consider are really only: can you sustain the dmg with your leech ability (which is really, is your blood rage/dps up to snuff), assuming you capped your res, got granite etc. " Well I'm going off the Poutsos build's experience at lvl 88, but I think difference between the build is atm. as far as I can see Poutsos is more tanky... anyhow. To the question. It's not off the topic at all. Pros you can look at, it's very fast, has great dmg/clear speed (if you can 1-2 shot stuff), looks very cool, is very fun to play, has the biggest wow effect when you're demolishing mobs, everyone lookin' you play thinks either you are cheating (I mean people that don't know/play the game), or get interested in the game. Cons... well there are a few. First one is the safeness of auto-targetting, sometimes you'll go where you don't want to go, and hit what you don't want to hit. Like hit phys refl mobs (hence why you can't use Aby effectively), teleport on the other side of map where you might get swarmed by mobs, when you face boss, if there are multiple enemies around, you won't be focusing on him etc. Second con is desync, being that you teleport around so far when you get flicker going, especially if using it in parties or in a host with bad latency... You might be getting an additional teleport to where you don't want. Third BIG reliance on blood rage/mana/accuracy/charges. You must have your blood rage all the time, at a point I was dying due to forgetting that it expired (now I die 80% of times to typing XD), you must have enough mana for 3 attacks to make it effective, if you run out of charges you're f'd, and need to have 86%+ acc(90+ would be awesome) to not hate it. Fourth it's not tanky, at all. What I mean by that, like I said above, I die mostly to me typing in chat. :p You must keep charges/rage up, and leech all the time, as you got no armor. Fifth, it sucks for parties. No one can convince me otherwise, anyway you put it. 1-3 man parties CAN work. Depending on your dagger (be it mirror worthy, or decent one) one of the following will happen'. Thing with flicker is, either it works and everything dies (making most other party members spectators), or it doesn't work and you hate it and switch to reave/double strike. Now those are the ones I noticed with it, I made it seem like it was godawful, but just wanted to make sure you got all the thing straight. I mentioned some things that are CI specific, but yeah. IMO personally atm the only con is spellblock and the tankiness. Barely any spellblock (even if you change shield to rathpith) and second like I said, I die mostly to typing. Other stuff is ok, also if you got gear you can take on anything, while having amazing clear speed/dps at that. Only exception is Blood Magic map mods. Though, with crazy dps, might as well beat it with default attack. XD (jk no you can't cause blood rage). You can maybe with this build, 'cause shavs. Still it'd suck. @xhinsx
My flicker strike is higher dps with one dagger and a prism guardian because I can run the extra auras on life which increases my damage more than the 10% more speed and stats of a second dagger would benefit you. Plus flicker alternates hits so just use the highest dps dagger or you will bring down your dps to the average of the two daggers. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~

When you are about 60 and have more than 1000 es you can go ci, VP, gr all at the same time.
Until then I wore armor and evasion gear, used life on my rings and armor, and died only to reflect mobs. I hit hard enough leveling to kill everything before it did much damage. And to kill myself to reflect. Getting more life nodes as you level will make you a little slower but you won't die much. Going CI and taking the other keystones is based on having a nice shield and chest with some decent es. And being able to take them all at the same time. Don't take any of these three without highish Energy Shield. Making the change to my build requires a shavs and a crown of eyes at the minimum. And the willingness to take more risk of death. Mitigate hat risk by knowledge of the game, and the mobs and the bosses skills and playing against them with tactics. Choosing when to flicker or LS. When to pot. When to back away. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~

You did a great job explaining the pros and cons of a flicker strike build Goran.
I got a question about why did I go with Evasion and Ondars guile over Iron Reflexes. This is a good question. I have a simple answer and a complex one. The simple one is that armor only helps against physical damage. Evasion evades ophysical and projectile attacks which include some elemental damage. I think the effect of dodging projectiles that might freeze you makes evasion better. Armor does nnmm nothing against the type of damage that is dangerous. The complex one is coming. I am writing a on update to the build with lots more wexpkanations for my choices. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~
