How is the patch going to affect this build?
I'm 3 points from Berserking (was taking the lower path to the Duelist HP nodes, because I saw the other option rushing to the HP nodes after already taking Blood Magic) and with it being moved it is definitely impacting my build, but I don't have the trait yet, so I suspect it is not impacting the build in the opinion of GGG. It sounds like the path I'm currently taking to those nodes is now worse because there's less incentive to go that way, and it sucks that I would have to blow my respec points because GGG moved the node I needed and aren't offering respec points to make up for it. So is this patch screwing me over, or does it matter? Would I get a FULL respec if I managed to grind my way to Berserking before the patch? I was trying to see a GGG post on that, but all I could find were contradictory player comments on the matter. If I would get a full respec, I'd consider using my respec points now to take out the unnecessary points in my path temporarily (the 2 12% HP nodes) in order to grab Berserking before the respec, but only if that would get me the full refund and be the only way to get that refund. " If felshrine is easy for you put on a pair of 30% run speed boots to make runs much quicker. Lies! I got GCP every time I kill a mob with my mouth in JUST the right position! So now I just have to make sure I can make it to that position before the mob is dead each time. :-P

" Might be a good idea to get beserking to see how much it impacts your gaming experience. That way you'll know after the patch if you should seek faster attack speed. Lies! It's not the trait itself that's of concern - but the points I spent working towards it that could have gone somewhere else to be more efficient. Yay for wasting unnecessary points on +10 stat nodes.

i am currently lv58 in merciless act1 and farming in the ledge i am going to take iron reflexes and the life nodes near it (i am leveling grace) is it worth to take some armour nodes? now i just have around 1000 armour (and 2000hp, 40-70% elemental res w/o endurance charge) it seems quite low because my friend told me that he has 4K armour at my level actually i feel quite well when i have full endurance charges but i would worry that i might be too soft to play in act2 and act3 |

" this is a really good basic build- i'm lvl 73 now and still use it there's variations of it after you hit the high 60's- to explain you might have different playing style and might want more defense/offense/resist- and will adjust your nodes later on. another thing some people consider at this point is to opt out of blood magic to run aura's- this works if you have the right gear imho i'll suggest waiting for the patch next week to see how you want to spec out your map- there's 2 changes so far that impacts build- there's the moving of berserk this week- and area effect spells for meele's next week. overall i'm very happy with build |

Thank you for the build! This is a really good build. I've been using it solidly and am now at around 68. Question is, with 0.10.2 up, is there value in going into the duelist master of the arena and starting nodes, kind of like this :

I was having similar thoughts.
I use Ground Slam and Heavy Strike, both linked with Blood Magic. Heavy Strike is linked with Added Fire Damage and (17%!!!) Fire Penetration, hence the Weapon Elemental Nodes. I don't use the blood magic passive in order to run %based auras, eventually I'm planning on picking up 20% reduced mana reserved from the passive tree, so I can run even more! The +30 Dex and Int nodes are due Blood Rage and Vulnerability/Wrath. Any thoughts are appreciated. Build |
