1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD

Hey, great build. I've been using it since I first created my marauder. Everything was going really good till Merciless. I just can't stop dying, mostly anything 3 hits me, shame as a marauder. What can I do? I really need help.

why u take iron reflexes?
This build is based on heavy str right?
So we won't get many evasion rating anyway.
Also grace...for it to be really usefull it should be atleast lvl 13 - 1k evasion.
For that we would need 164 dex....

so i'm kinda confused about that...

Followed the First Post Build till the end (just missing the 4% aoe nodes, which i don't really like atm)

Having heavy issues with gear, since i can only wear str based gear. Which limits u really alot.
For weapon i change based on the map, if i do map runs with a friend, i usually go for 1h-Mace + shield.
For farming (like Ledge) i take my 2h mace.



So i wonder where to go now.
Thought about Iron Reflexes aswell....but not sure it is worth it.....

Btw got some problems with survivalblity. I think EC are kinda risky aswell....without them u are so squishy.
But yeah when u got them they work pretty well in most situations.
Maybe someone got any tips for gear?
Usually i have this priority with gear:
2 4-Linked Red socket items > HP > Resis

Also was thinking about getting the "Diamond Skin" node.

Im stuck in Act 1 Merciless, can someone advise on what to swap out and being the priority for me now?

Then I would switch to Life leech if the damage is higher ( 1k + )
cuz 6% life leech beats life gain on hit pretty hard^^

Yes u wasted 2SP in 15x 15x fire resists.

Also too many EC, and regen nodes.

Yes, dexternity requirement is a main drawback of grace imho. If you can afford it, go for Iron Reflexes. If not... Not.
There are few high-level options: our Iron Reflexes, life nodes by Iron Grip, armor nodes, Inner Force. Choose that, what is most suitable for you.

Ground Slam:
272-422 Fire Damage
778-1205 Physical Damage
(DPS: 1946.1)

Heavy Strole:
571-884 Fire Damage
1650-2526 Physical Damage
(DPS: 4078)

Armor Rating:
865

Resis: (merciless)
80 Fire
44 Cold
1% Lightning
-60% Chaos


I know i have to work on resis... but kinda hard for me to get gear ^^. Most usefull gear is so extreme expensive, and wasn't really lucky with drops yet.

That's the funny thing, sometimes i feel sooo tanky, getting no dmg at all, and then on the same mobs i die like nothing...
My main problem is probally the lack in skill to dodge projectiles.


Yeah tha so, my current dex ammount is 38 xD, so yeah probally not the best idea, as i thought.

life nodes near Iron Grip - that looks worth it, overall lot of health there, but kinda long way to get there.

Inner Force - seems so far away and i see no benefit from it...if i remember right, u mentioned that Buff Increase duration wouldn't work on EC

Regarding Inner Force
Well it does not influence Endurance Charges at all. There is another use of Inner Force:

1. Get some mana leech gear. With your dps 2% should be enough.
2. Respec Blood Magic.
3. Run Hatred, Vitality, Purity or Determination with Reduced Mana (on dependance on current needs)
4. Run Anger and Wrath with Reduced Mana and Blood Magic
5. In such case Catalyse and Lava Lash do worth it.
6. Get Inner Force to increase effect of each aura by 30%.

I repeat, this requires mana leech gear (mana leech from physical attacks)

wow that is an amazing thing.
So basivally i need a item with atleast 2%Phy dmg to mana, that will give me enough mana reg to keep spamming my skills?
Didn't thought it would regen that much mana.

So when u get that, u need another 4L items, for 3aura + reduced mana.
Another 4L for Anger and Wrath with Reduced Mana and Blood Magic

+the other 2 4Links, so basically i need 4/4 (doesn't count weapon in, for endurance,warlord)
beeing 4links.


Amazing idea! But i guess for that i need way more "money" to afford hp+reses gear +those sockets/links.
