Barrage Wonder Wanderer – how to DEMOLISH maps (1.3.X)
That tree is almost exactly mine (I'm at 65 now). Really loving it. One of my clan mates dropped a Rats Nest so I got a bro deal which is nice. Smashed Dom, started mapping, no worries so far. Got halfway through an ele reflect map before realising it was one (late night yolo alc), vaal pact and LL is so freaking amazing.
Most impressively I was able to womp through my Zana daily, which was a lvl 72 map, at a fairly healthy clear speed, at lvl 65. Let that sink in, I was easily clearing a map that was so high level I was receiving reduced xp... this build man... this build... EDIT: With respect to your question on quality, the most important one IMO is PCoC, each Q is equal to a gem level, and it greatly affects your clear speed as less PCoC barrages means more CoC barrages. CoC quality is definitely nice, but its not THAT great. Its just crit%, and a max of 20% makes it equal to a min rolled ring, pretty meh. With good other gear, complete tree and a good wand barrage will easily hit 95% with PCs, so its only gonna add to the spells, which isn't that important. Barrage may or may not be useful. I am almost certain that it will not affect the CoC spells. If not then its useless, if it does then its quite nice. Just need 1 GCP to test, wish I hadn't blown them all on my Empower XD. GMP's cast speed is useless, we don't manually cast anything. Its attack speed however is HUGE. I'd say its the second most important gem. Once we have the 95% crits, AS is our best form of damage scaling, followed by crit multi. The other good ones that are nice to have are Curse on Hit, Herald of Ice, Arctic breath and Ice spear. Everything else is useless or close to it. Last edited by AgentKay#7874 on Sep 9, 2014, 10:26:12 AM

Yesterday I tried Atziri with the EK version.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to pass dual vaal (killed one and just instant death vs the second). The map itself is quite easy but the damage from ball lightning is too much :(. any experience of successfull run? |

AgentKay, I greatly appreciate your input, but I'd like to point out that it's not actually THAT easy to get crit to 95, especially in the Beyond league. GG Items are simply not available or way too expensive, and the league forces us to focus on defenses. I'm currently really happy with 85% crit, and any little improvements are very important to me :).

" You can get cheaper jewelry and craft a Crit mod on it with Masters. It's quite cheap. Same with local crit on wand. You can also swap one of spells in your main attack to Increased Crit Chance gem. IGN: LeszczuTheSlayer Last edited by Leszczu#3850 on Sep 10, 2014, 5:18:15 AM

" Completely understand! I am a RIP junky, never could get the hang of HC (double Brutus with extra damage speed and health? I can take em...). All of my input has be completely based on findings/theory in Rampage. I want to note that it IS easy to get 95% crits on rampage at least. I have been able to reach 95% with just around 3ex, 1ex for Tabula, 1 more for the Rats Nest and Maligaro's Virtuosity (20C each), 15c on an 11% crit wand with attack speed and the last 20C or so on shield, belt, boots and jewelry. I understand that running Tablula (and even Maligaro's) might not be an option on HC, which makes gearing waaaaay more expensive, or you have to sacrifice the crit chance. Especially true if you HAVE to have life on your jewelry as well, I only have about 120 life from all 3 pieces together. |

I thought I should explain my statement a bit - yes it is easy to cap crit, if you are willing to run lower defenses. But for beyond endgame you really want to go with atleast 4.5k life, 10k armor and overcap resists. And also reliable manaRegen, and spell/phys dmg so your EKs actually hurt. So it's always a tradeoff, and with me not being particularly rich/lucky, I have balanced my char at 85crit .(which should be 87 really as soon as I find someone to remove my crafted mod from a ring, or a replacement) :)
Yeah Maligaro's is a really really expensive item (in the sense, that all your other gear pretty much triples in value), so I'm skipping that for a moment. Also crit/ias/spellDmg wands are really scarce on the market, I opted for a 1.5aps with decent crit/spellDmg. Currently running with:
Spoiler
Another question I wanted to discuss - LifeLeech vs LifeGainOnHit. I'm actually using LGoH, since I feel it's enough sustain and much more reliable (42 on hit so Barrage on a pack is instant +500hp, even without CoC proc). And I'm not sure if swapping to Leech & VaalPact will be much better. Any opinions? |

With respect to your gearing stuff, completely understand, your gear ATM looks super nice. Belt is probably weakest link, and shield could be far more defensive, and that would allow you to run Maligaros. But may not be worth it considering the other benefits on your shield.
" This is where its hard for us to help eachother, as I am running the elemental version. The main point of either options is to cope with reflect, for general sustain they are overkill. For the ele version it is absolutely necessary to dealing with reflect to run LL and Vaal Pact. The ele hits are larger and fewer, and thus (un)lucky crits on reflect packs would insta-rip me. Also for ele CWDT > EC > IC does not help with reflect. Thanks to chain as well you are getting many more hits and they are all smaller, so LGoH may well be much more effective. That being said, MATH TO THE RESCUE! There will be a breakpoint at higher gearing levels where you are hitting hard enough for LL + Vaal Pact to be better. Assuming 20/0 gems LGoH is 44/hit and LL+Vaal is 3.52%, which means when your hits are averaging 1250 (oddly round number that) LL is better. This however is only considering the EK hits, the additional barrage hits are going to mean LGoH is better for even higher damage than I calculated. However it is also necessary to consider (un)lucky crits, if you happen to roll high on damage and crit on EK you will be doing multiple times your average hit damage, which could put you in danger with LGoH, but LL will always cover you. Basically, keep leveling both, when your stats keeps climbing (especially crit multi) and you start noticing reflect posing a bigger threat make the switch. EDIT: A comment on the reliability of both, you are right to point out that LGoH is more reliable as a sustain option, as it can heal large amounts without crits on any mobs. However reliability against reflect is in favor of LL as it doesn't matter the size or frequency of the hits, if you can survive one you can survive them all. But again, results may vary, Ele gets extra mitigation as we get resists, but you get IC/EC. Last edited by AgentKay#7874 on Sep 10, 2014, 8:26:51 AM

Thank you for the input AgentKay. I quite similar thoughts. For my phys version, my EC-IC deals with phys reflect quite well, since it's not 1 big nuke, but rather a very fast hitting spray. Actually Ele reflect worries me a bit more, I tend to turn off hatred&ash in ele-reflect maps. I'm use LL would help me more there.
But I also have to remember one of the key Beyond features - nasty degen mobs. There's a pretty high chance of chaos/fire degen mobs spawning, and even with the +500hp from each barrage, im spamming pots quite enthusiasticly. That's one situation where getting a couple of non-cocs can get ugly. About the shield - I actually kinda rely on the +int and +manaRegen on it, that's why I picked it for now :) One of the things I really like about this build is the high customization cap. The point when I can say - "yes, this is as good as it can get" is nowhere near, and we can endlessly keep improving our already strong characters :) |

Hi guys,
i just starting playing a coc duelist (because duelist was the only class i didn't have :D) I'm planning with the following tree: Tree Can you give me some critique on what i could improve? (I'm dual wielding wands - ele version) Greetings zid |

" I know right? The cap isn't even close. And that's before considering LeMings theorycraft of the UBER option, which is just silly, if all the numbers work out, although I'm not sure its possible from Shadow start. I'm enjoying this build more than any other ive played, even more than my previous fav, Facebreakers. |
