The Frozen Dagger (ST/CoC - Self found, noob friendly) [Gameplay Videos]
" Wow grats on the fast acquisition of the essential gear!!!! " Well grabbing a Surgeon's Sapphire will make ele reflect vry easy to deal with. Light thorns is tough. Even with a Lightning Res flask you will still gib yourself pretty easy. Pro tip - The caster only cast thorns on their allies that are close to you (or a party member or minions). If you are playing solo just kite everything and pull of your summons if you have them. If your in a party your best bet is to make sure your melee know they need to kill the casters first or you wont be able to help on those packs. " Yah if you haven't picked up some mana/mana-regen nodes then that will slow you down till you get there. " This is vry effective with fireball. Though I typically run IS/CS so it wouldn't work for me. You might try Iron Will. We have a hefty amount of Str (for a int/dex build). And since the only negative on the support is cast speed (there's not even a mana multiplier) then it's free bonus all around spell dmg. " I cannot stress enough how super-uber-crazy important this is. People seem to be missing that flasks make and break this build. Without massive amounts of flask uptime you will get roflstomped easily. For instance, right now I have sub-40% eva, 1% dmg reduction and 30-40 all res. If I went into a map i would die 15 times with these kinds of stats. But luckily for me I can boost all of those stats to acceptable levels with flasks. And being able to keep those flasks rolling is EXTREMELY important!!!!! Check out my Frozen Dagger build in the Shadow forums!!

Yo bro, did you remove the skill tree from the guide? I can't seem to find it anymore.
|
|
" At the moment there is only 1 tree there. I removed the old links b/c they were no longer valid with the new skill tree. The current tree is in the 'Skill Tree Progression' Section. Here is a fresh link for you though ;) Skill Tree This is just a preliminary build for the new tree. I don't know how much it will or wont change as I progress my Character in the new league. I have a question regarding the Surgeon's Sapphire, why the cold flask? was it because your cold resist was not maxed at the time? or is it because of your cold damage output that would kill you from the reflect.? Since i use both IS & FB, wouldn't i need both flask to counter that reflect effect?
Ya, i am paying more attention to certain mobs now, if i see those black guards around, i know the mages are around, so i will not go all trigger happy and take out the mages first, but sometimes in a full pt, shit is so hectic and can't see everything with all the flashbang sparks going around. Another question is, i am using Frenzy instead of double strike. The dps is abit less, but it gives the frenzy charges, which gives increased atk spd overall, which increases the crit chance for a few seconds. Any reason why double strike is still better to go with? I did think about using iron will gem, but thought fire penetration overall would have better dps in the long run, but didn't realize iron will didn't sap your mana. So maybe i might test out that gem for now, to see how it works with the mana situation. I find myself doing quite a bit of crits as is and mobs are dying pretty quickly, i dont even really bother to cast crit weakness at times. Also 500 Chromes trying to get that stupid dagger to 3R, no luck yet, found it harder to get that than getting my voll's 6l and colour fixed up! " Yah I run the Sapph flask for reflect. Tiemo runs FB as well and runs 1 of each flask to compensate. It takes up another flask spot but as far as I can tell he does just fine with it that way. Maybe he can give you some ideas on the best way to go about it. " No matter how many Franzy charges you can stack up it will never match the attack speed of Double strike. Since DS hits twice for ever attack, you would bassically have to get 100% increased attack speed from frenzy to get the same amounts of attacks. Also, frenzies base mana is stupidly high. With CoC it will cost 21 mana per hit. Unless you have a high mana pool, after voll's, and same kind of crazy regen you will oom constantly. " Crit Weakness isn't for the extra crit chance. We already crit often enough without it. It is for the extra crit dmg. With a Q20 curse you will be adding 79% increased dmg to your crits. And you will find most of the time it's not even worth taking the time to cast. But it is amazing for high HP and high res mobs. Check out my Frozen Dagger build in the Shadow forums!!

" yes, it's hard to get. but it makes the build really good when you are using it in combination with voll's devotion. many people trying to get my setup now (don't know why) and most give up because they can't get RRR Dagger. i bought it and was really lucky. never seen another RRR Ungil's. |

I was experimenting with cold spells since I used some passives on them, and actually frozen wall works out quite well for a even more defensive build. Kept pushing the mob away or to the side as they try to approach you.

|
" Wall is fun ... but that's it. If you want some knock-back your better off to use a knock-back support or run Projectile weakness. When I was messing with skills, initially, I had instances where I cornered my self a few times. Plus if you EVER play with a group you'll be kicked after the first few packs lol Check out my Frozen Dagger build in the Shadow forums!!

" yes, you need both for reflect. otherwise you will have some problems when you use IS & FB. " i use crit. weakness on rare monsters with high hp or bosses (for example dominus) " good for trolling partys or having fun to see those monsters get pushed away, but nothing more. it would be a waste of socket. ^^ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i've found a nice helmet and bought some nice high hp rings i updated my post above so that some people can see how gear looks like when you run lv. 79 corrupted maps without problems. |
