How the Open Beta launch will work

I'll be at a conference and away from my computer from the 23rd to the 27th which is a bit of a hard pill to swallow. On the other hand, hopefully by the time I get back everything is up and running well and I wont have to deal with day 1 frustrations.

I hope everyone enjoys the first few days and isn't bothered by all my questions on the 28th.

It's gonna be a sleepless next few days at the very least.

I will be in the same boat... work is gonna suck on thursday after no sleep. Friday will just be pure survival mode trying to stay awake during work.

lol your work doesn't care if you download a 1.5gig file that is more than likely irrelevant to your job? That's awesome. :) I don't think they offer a manual update though.

If you can drag your PoE install to your work you can patch and bring the Content.ggpk file home with you. You'd need a flash drive with at lest 8gb of space though. My PoE folder is already ~5gb, the patch is 1.5gb, and extra space to make sure you can fit the entire file is also useful.

It has, indeed, been a long time awaited, and I count myself among the many looking forward to the new content. While it is regrettable that inventories will be eradicated in the process, I imagine there is a good reason for this which will be found in the patch notes, so any further comment thereupon will wait until I've gotten to peruse them.

With the reveal of some of the pets on G3's YouTube channel, speculation is no doubt running rampant as to what other options (will/should; pick one) be there if threads such as this are any indication... I know I'm not the only one who thinks the Ebony Legion threads seen in IncGamers.com's article would be worth getting for the sheer coolness value (the ones shown in the article's first image perfectly suit, from left to right, the witch, templar, and duelist.

Stepping back from the matter of the shop, I still find it a pity that G3 didn't take a page from Runic's handbook in terms of basic character customization (and this particular bit of fanart doesn't 'help')... perhaps this is something that can be worked on post-launch once all the priority issues surrounding launch are off the deck; I understand quite a bit of modeling work is involved.

Put your Client on a USB drive and start the launcher in the office.
