Clarity takes up too much mana if you level it up too high. Most ppl keep it at 3-5. That said, it CAN be leveled past 3 if you can judge wisely, but otherwise that 3 is just an arbitrary number for newer players.

Lightning strike if leveled past 9 will take up more mana. Plus you need to make sure your str can support it.

Curse gems aren't worth leveling early to mid game as the mana cost gets very high. You can level it if you feel you can support it but i leave that decision to you

RIP on 66th with this build.Got oneshotted by ranged skellys @a2 merc. Couldn't even press a granite or whirl out of the room.
It is really fun and skillbased build, but i realized that melee builds are so much underpowered for now.
There are so much disadvantages and only one advantage of playing melee - its *kewl*.
It's only my opinion tho, and i wanted to thank Invalesco for this great and really fun build, keep up the good work, and dont die.

I was hoping you could clarify something for me. I'm a relatively new player (less than one week) and as such I don't have a lot of orbs and few gems. This build is interesting to me (CI sounds a bit too hardcore for me), but I'm concerned about your warning on the original post. Would you be willing to elaborate, for me, what expectations I could have leveling this up and what problems I might run in to? If it makes any difference, I'm duoing full-time with my wife's Witch (who doesn't have a spec selected, yet, either.)

I am lvl50 with this build and so far I frankly run into major survivability problems. My elemental resists are capped I have 45% evade and 400 armor ( dont have good armour gear yet so using whatever I got)

My friend melee duelists just face tanks everything and lifesteals it back. I on the other hand have to kite mobs and having no cc sucks I run oom fast if I use fire traps and cant lifesteal

My only lifesteal is lifeleach gem on dual strike which works okish vs single mobs but in packs I get trashed

Mana issues are alleviated a bit now that I have +35% mana regen from rings but still not gone

Is there any place I should be aiming to get lifesteal/mana regen from in gear?



So far I can solo open areas in act2 cruel and I soloed piety (with 3 deaths lols) but act3 kicks my butt majorly I cant solo at all.

Is Vitality actually a necessary aura? It seems like that is the least needed, I am running blood rage without it and it doesn't take a single point of my hp.

Don't see why I would add vitality to that then, anyone sees something I'm missing?

Oh vitality was only needed if you guys only managed to get 0% chaos resists. Did you manage to get positive chaos resists already nagarashi?
