Thanks a lot Michael for the updates, I think it's awesome you keep this build up to date. I have been pretty busy and haven't had time to enjoy the newest patch... however this weekend I will update my post with your edits.
Hope everyone is having fun in 1.1. :- ) | |
Hi Pls and Michaelangel007,
thx for this nice guide! I am currently at lvl91 and have 110/550 IIQ/IIR. I just want to add a minor point which concerns the following: " This node also increases IIQ and IIR from Diviniation Destillate. For a perfect one with 25/60 this will be +8/18 IIQ/IIR. Since one of the primary goals of this char is to get as much MF as possible those nodes are mandatory, imo. I am asking you at least to mention it. (And dont forget the +8 to all maximum elemental resitances from this flask) Cheers p.S.: Thx to SilentTrystero who posted this in this thread some weeks ago. " IGN ................... Hello everyone. I've just rerolled into this build, I was a summoner before, but GGG nerfed us from skyhigh to the lowground.
Everything I'll write below is just a theory, I've not tested it yet on myself, but i see it interesting. I'm gonna speak about the RBBB link: skeletons, warp, reduced mana and curse. As for me, lightning warp is not any good without Reduced Duration gem. It warps for too long, so why don't you better swap reduced mana gem with reduced duration? I've tried it and i still have mana to use all my skills(totems+warp+curse). The curse is the thing i'm gonna use to drain my mana, so i won't take it out of the links. But there're still 3 slots that can be reallocated. The first interesting gem is raise spectre. I really enjoyed bubble-guy(Evangelist from SOG) when i was a summoner, so, why not to try in as mfer?
All you need for bubble-guy
Since we're not summoners and since we can't afford 6L spectres(we have only helmet\boots with free slots) spectre's life will go down a lot(i had +70% increased min life from nodes as a summoner) but they're still can save your life in some situation s. Here's the gear to summon them with: Or any +2 minions helm(but i strictly recommend skullhead) and the links will be You won't need 6L Chober, just make sure it has high "Minions have x% increased life" roll(35+ is nice). The second (and for me-the most) interesting gem is animate guardian.
About AG
You can combine any gear you like to use with AG, but I prefer 2 sets:
First Set
This is a heal-damage aura support set. Gloves and boots with 80+ hp(preferred armour-based). This is a very tanky type of guardian. He has high resists bc of the rapier, and creates concecrated ground on block sometimes(+5% hp\es regen in it). Also he'll give +15% dmg boost aura to all group, and that's not bad at all!
Second Set
This is a full damage aura support set. +28% damage aura and +18% curse effects on enemies. That's really nice dmg boost for party(tested as a summoner). Gloves, boots and chest are as always 80+ life each, preferred armour-based and preferred resists. This guardian is not tanky at all. He will easilly die to a huge damage and you better swap him out for hard boss fights(especially aoe based dmg ones) AG likes to run away from you(you'll get what I mean when you try it). AG fears AOE or rapid damage (like firestorm, like tentacle miscreations shots, like cleaves from some enemies), so i recommend to swap the gem out on hard bosses, but you can always give him a try). Also, snapshoting DOESN'T work with AG. It is "summoned" each time you enter a new location. And i recommend to link him with gem. As it is hard to controll him, you'll need a gem that will help with that. And here comes the Smoke Mine gem! It will teleport you and your minions to the place where you've placed it before. Well... I think that's all I know for now. Gonna try it by myself soon. Hope you'll enjoy it! P.S. If someone doesn't know how to snapshot spectres, pm me ingame (IGN Foluna) or post messages here, I'll read them some time :) Thanks for reading this post and sorry for my English! |

" This build is extremely tight on sockets since we want (need?) to use 10 auras + reduced mana gems, but yes, Raise Spectre + Curse + gem#1 of your choice + gem#2 is a good way to go. Personally I like & use Raise Spectre, Bear Trap, and Warlord's Mark (melee party) or Elemental Weakness (caster party). I've found Lightning Warp is more a of a safety-backup plan. I've stopped using it from levels 77-79 and honestly didn't miss it (too much.) Putting Reduced Duration on Lightning Warp hinders your versatility IMHO. I would rather have a Reduced Mana in the weapon + 2 gems to conserve mana to have the mana for the totems. That's the nice thing about this build -- you can tailor the 4 extra gems sockets to your play style. |

" That is an excellent point pasta! You are absolutely correct that Flask Effect is the optimal way to max your MF. I don't have a Diviniation Destillate flask and with Elemental Adaption never really needed the extra max resists before -- I've updated these builds. Here are the final SotV 1.1 builds for Witch and Scion -- hopefully people will stop asking for "updates" ;-) Witch, Level 100, (3x Flask Effect, Reduced ES Delay, Ironwood)

Both Witch and Scion are fantastic choices for this build -- the Witch has the very slight edge however if you are the perfectionist / OCD for MF. :-) Here is a alt Scion template that is useful for leveling until you get your Shavronne's Wrappings. You'll want to use an Infernal Mantle or Solaris Lorica chest armor. Alt. Scion, Level 100 (3x Flask Effect, Ironwood, +45% Chaos Resists but 30% less ES) Edit.1: Added alt. Scion template with +44% chaos resists -30% ES. Last edited by Michaelangel007#1783 on Mar 7, 2014, 2:13:55 PM

" Glad to have helped. Thank-you for posting the original guide! It would be appreciated if you could add a footnote about Party Builds and Auras synergies please. ;-) I've found that I tailor my auras based on the builds in the party: * Melee: Anger + Hatred + Wrath * Ranged: Grace + Determination + Purity of Elements + Level 15+ Clarity It's fun to break up the monotomy of doing maps by public farming Piety, Catacombs, Docks, Library and see people's reaction ... "How the heck are you running so many auras!?!?!?" ;-) Thanks again for a fun build. |

The passive tree on the post is pretty broken due to the changes in 1.1.0, any chance you can update it?
Cast on Crit too much fun.
