Hamsterbaby's [ 1.0.3 ] Dual Totem Critical / CI Storm Caller With Videos

Hamsterbaby's [1.0.3] Witch ,Dual Totem Pure CI / Critical Storm Caller

Please always check my last post for updated side notes!!!

Ok Guys, been a while since I edited this thread.

This build is finally done and I am quite happy to say that you can play around with this build with mediocre self found gear.

Storm call is just an awesome skill it stacks shocks really quickly and the combination of Fire traps and shock stacks works extremely well with this build.

Important Side Notes Please Check it out !!!

The Passives that are designed in this current build is extremely versatile.
I will begin to post more notes in regards to this build.

Please understand that due to the versatility of the passives and the build . you can efficiently play as a,

1. Dual Freezing Pulse Totem
2. Dual Sporker
3. Dual Ice Spear Totem
4. Dual Incinerate Totem
5. Dual EK Totem.
6. Dual Fireball Totem.
7. Dual Arc Totem.
8. Dual Firestorm Totem.
9. ETC ETC.

Any Spells from the Intelligence Arsenal can be effectively used.

This will show the flexibility of this build.

No longer will you feel obligated to play with only 1 particular spell.
You can now play and experiment with all kinds of spells for fun.

Please check the updated videos in regards to how I switch to other spells and yet play effectively.

Basic Playing Strategy

Lets keep this simple. I don't exactly want to be too long winded about the guide.

1. Place two totems in front of you .
2. Spam Ice Spears to gain power charges.
3. Drop fire traps to kill more difficult monsters or lightning immunes.
4. Throw conversion traps if you are in a tight situation. Or use concersion traps to convert rare monsters or totems.
5. After dropping totems just kite and walk around and let your Storm Call murder the crap out of them.
6. Pop Granites for more Armor depending on situation
7. Pop Quicksilvers to kite and move faster to your target or runaway if things gets too hot.
8. Rinse and Repeat.

Basic Playing strategy for merciless Dominus runs.

First Form.

Dude is a loser in his first form. just do the above.

Second form.

Always have a portal ready. Before he turns into his second form jump in the portal, switch out the quicksilver flasks and put in the Remove Bleeding Granite Flasks for safety.

There will be about 10 seconds or so before Dominus becomes mobile.

1. Drop 2 totems infront of him
2. Prepare 3 x Fire Traps on top of him.
3. Once he is mobile double or single curse him and watch everything goes off.
4. Keep a safe distance away from him because he hits quite hard when there is no blood rain and the protective bubble. and just drop fire traps and recast totems if needed.
5. Once he summons blood rain walk into the bubble.
6. When he is in his bubble his melee attack really suck , so a granite flask will reduce your damage for a pure CI significantly.
7. Collect loot :) .

Leveling Strategy

Create 2 Witches and a Shadow.

1. Grab a Fire Trap from the Shadow.
2. Grab a Raise Zombie from the Witch
3. Grab a Freezing pulse for your 3rd witch.

Level your witch with your freezing pulse and grab Ice Spear as soon as you get it.

Level your Ice Spear on another empty slot.

Play as a Freezing Pulse witch until you get your spell totem.
Once you get your Spell Totem and your first Lesser Multiple Projectile.
Switch to an Ice Spear Witch.

You will be freezing monsters with your ice spears frequently and just attach the Storm Call to your spell totem to let it do the Aoe damage.

You can start going dual totem once you reach cruel Fellshrine.

Once you hit Merciless fellshrine farm or trade for ES gear and try to hit at least 2.5 to 3k ES before you start doing maps and go full Chaos Innoculation.

The Rest is History :).

Bandit Rewards

Kill All, You will need every single extra passive point. This is just my suggestion though.

Current Skill Tree Will be Improving it.

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgMABVsHYw5IES0RLxFQEZYV1xZAFr8W8yY8KU8qEyycLKcsvy0fL50y0TrYO-E8BT1fQ2NFR0bXTLNN2FAwUEJSU1WuVmNXK1j1WfNaK13GXfJfKmBtY0Nmnm0ZcFJw1XFNfIN9U3_GgpuFfYauiEKIa4uMjDaMdo5kjr6PppeVl_SZmprPncSf36IuoqOj8qcrp5S1BLaGtve2-rcxuJO71sAawFHAVMHFwfPDbc360f3Xhtte3fPfsOFz4vfjhOQi5oHrY-vk7BjsOO0g73zyHfPq96Y=

Pros and Cons

Pros

1.Fast Shock Stacking.
2.Auto Aim.
3.Great for Aoe Damage with the right passive nodes.
4.Highest Damage Elemental Skill Gem amongst the 3 elements not including Discharge or EK.
5.Awesome Single Target skill.

Cons

1.Delay cast ( Not a Problem at all with Reduce Duration )
apart from this, i havent found any cons to be honest. :)

Power Charges Build Up From Ice Spears.

I understand some of you guys would like to know the difference between building power charges and not.

Power Charges build up does boost the damage of your totems.

Gears , Gem Setup and Videos

Gem Setup Chest Piece

Spoiler
Pure ES or ES / Armor or ES / EVA
your choice to be honest , since this is a Pure CI Build go for as much ES as possible.

Important Mods for Chest Piece.

1. High ES
2. Dual or Tri Resists.
3. Intelligence mods.

for 5 Linked Chest. Go for R-R-B-B-B

for 6 Linked Chest. Go for R-R-B-B-B-B OR R-R-B-B-G.

The important gems are Spell Totem / Faster Casting / Storm Call / Increased Aoe / Reduced Duration/

The Last slot if you have a 6 Linked Chest. you can either go for

If Blue Socket

1. Lightning Penetration
2. Concentrated Effect
3. Item Rarity

IF Green Socket

1. Culling Strike
2. Blind

Personally I would have went for a Green Socket because I want to get the Culling Strike Gem.

A Quality Culling strike Gem will give you extra damage and extra 9% Faster Casting.

My Current Gem Set Up and Chest Piece.

Gem Set Up Head Piece

Spoiler
Pure ES Helm , Preferably Hubris Circlet

Mods to Look out for

1. Huge ES.
2. IIR
3. Dual Resist of Your Choice.

4 Linked

G-B-B-B

The Important Gems are Power Charge on Crit > GMP > Ice Spear > Faster Casting.

Remember to get level 1 Ice Spear so you can spam as much as possible to get your Power charges up.

Usually with 2 - 3 Spam and you are up with max power charges.
Thus giving you extra critical strike chance and extra spell damage.

My Current Gem Set up and Head Piece

Gem Setup Gloves

Spoiler
If Rare Gloves
Mods to look out for.

1. ES
2. Dual or Tri Resist.
3. Mana Mods

If Unique Gloves

1. Auresize.
2. Maligaros.
3. Void Bringer

Personally I would just go for Auresize for Magic Finding. IIR and Resist pretty good mods.
If I would like to have more damage , I would go Maligaros.

Void Bringer is good but the 80% extra Mana Cost really annoys me.

4 Linked

G-B-B-R

The Important Gems are Fire Trap > Increased AOE > Concentrated Effect and Fire Penetration.

You can feel free to play around with the Gem setup for Fire Trap. Doesn't matter how you want it, you can also put in Chance to Ignite or increased burning Damage .

Whatever that makes you happy.

This setup however is perfect for me though.

My Current Gem Setup and Gloves.

Gem Setup Boots

Spoiler
Pure ES Boots or Unique Boots.

IF Rare, make sure it is Pure ES.

Mods to look out for.

1. High ES
2. Tri or Dual Resist.
3. 20 Plus Movement Speed.

If Unique.

1. Windscream (Optimal for Dual Curse)
2. Rainbow Stride.
3. Goldwyrm
4. Sundance
5. Sin Trek

4 Linked Final

R-B-B-G

However due to certain passive that I haven't reached at the moment.
Currently I am using a Conversion Trap in the Blue Socket before I switch to my final build.

4 Linked Current.

R-B-B-B

The Reason Why I Suggested R-B-B-G is because on my final build I will place

Reduced Mana > Clarity > Discipline > Haste or level 10 or more Arctic Armor.

Why Haste or Level 10 or More Arctic Armor.

Haste Explanation.

With Haste Aura I will get extra

1. 9% Movement Speed at lvl 20
2. 16% Cast Speed at lvl 20
3. 16% Attack Speed at lvl 20

All these mods are extremely useful for me to try to hit 0.25 Cast Per Second with Dual totems.

Currently I am only doing 0.27 Per Cast.

AS for Attack Speed and Movement speed, it will be beneficial to my Raised Zombies and add a little extra movement speed to my Witch.

Arctic Armor Explanation.

Arctic Armor is extremely useful when countering titty bitches and Void Bearers.

Even a lvl 10 Arctic armor is extremely effective during end game maps and significantly reduces the damage taken from these guys.

Will use Arctic Armor if I can find enough Mana Regeneration and Mana to use it.

My Current Gem Setup and Boots.

Gem Setup Weapons.

Spoiler
3 Links

R-B-B

OR

B-B-B

Important Gems for Dual Curse.

For 3 Blue Links

Critical Weakness or Elemental Weakness > Conductivity ( Must Have ) > Increased AOE or Faster Casting.

For 1 Red and 2 Blue Links

Critical Weakness or Elemental Weakness > Conductivity ( Must Have ) > Reduce Mana or Increase Duration.

Important Gems for Single Curse.

For 3 Blue Links

Critical Weakness or Elemental Weakness ( Must Have ) > Increase Aoe > Faster Casting

For 1 Red and 2 Blue Links

Critical Weakness or Elemental Weakness ( Must Have ) > Increased Aoe or Faster Casting > Reduce Mana or Increase Duration.

Rare Weapons will be optimal

I will split it into 3 Categories.

1. Wands
2. Scepters
3. Daggers

Wands and Scepters

They are similar , so nothing much to explain.
Important mods to look for and must have.

1. High Spell Damage.
2. Faster Casting ( Preferably 15 FCR and above ).

As I said before you can survive up to lvl 75 maps without a problem therefore the above mods are the most important.

Obviously if you can afford a better Wand or Scepter it will be great. However, personally I like to write a guide for people who will find gear affordable and yet playable in end game maps.

Bonus extra Mods on Wands and Scepters to look out for and depending how you mix and match with the above stated mods. You can do the below.

1. Critical Strike Chance for Spells.
2. Global Crit Multiplier
3. Fire Damage
4. Mana Regeneration
5. Mana.

Daggers.

With Daggers, it is a little tricky. Although it lacks the FCR mod, in return it provides a huge amount of critical strike chance.

Prefered Daggers to use.

1. Copper , Golden and Platinum Kris. ( Because it has a base 80% Critical Strike Chance Mod).
2. Any daggers that have a base Global Critical strike chance of 60% mod.
3. Daggers below base 60% Critical Strike Chance mod, it works well as well, only if you can't afford the good ones. Generally Daggers are ok no biggie.

Important mods for rare daggers, a must have.

1. High Spell Damage
2. High Critical Strike Chance for Spells.

Bonus Mods, not a must have.

1. Global Critical Strike Multiplier
2. Fire Damage
3. Mana
4. Mana Regeneration
5. Intelligence.

Unique Items.

Feel Free to use Unique Wands or Daggers.
However at the moment there is no viable Scepter for this build.

Unique Wands.

1. Moonsorrow ( Nice Lightning DMG, 10% Chance to Blind , Cast Speed )
2. Void Battery

Unique Daggers

1. Divinarius ( Aoe, Spell Damage , High Crit Strikes . )
2. Heartbreaker ( Culling Strike , Spell Damage , Some Critical Strike Mods and Awesome Mana Mods. )

Personally if you are using a unique weapon, I would suggest Heart Breaker being the optimal Dagger to use.

However uniques can never be compared to a Godly Rare.

My Current Gem Setup and Weapon.

Here are some examples of Rare Weapons that you can consider using.

Gem Setup Shields

Spoiler
3 Link

B-B-B

With Shields , we can go 2 ways either Pure ES Shields or ES / ARMOUR Shields.

Important Gems

Raise Zombies > Minion Life > Minion Speed or Minion Damage or Conversion Trap.

Zombies are great for distracting monsters and gives you more survivability. If i managed to get enough Mana and reduce mana for my Auras to maintain 3 Auras I will take out Conversion Trap from my Boot and replace it in my shield slot.

Rare Shields Pure ES

Important Mods. ( Should Have )

1. High ES
2. Increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells.
3. Resist All

Bonus Mods.

1. Spell Damage
2. Mana Regeneration
3. Single Resist

Rare ES / Armour Shields

1. High ES
2. High Armor / ES Mods
3. Resist All
4. Intelligence
5. Single Resist Mods.
6. High Armour.

Whatever Combination is fine. I prefer Pure ES Shields though.

My Current Gem Setup and Shield.

Here are some other suggestions of Pure ES Shields and ES / Armour Shields that you can consider using.

Pure ES Shields

ES / Armour Shields

Belts

Spoiler
Personally I use a Perandus Blazon Cloth Belt. Because it gives me IIQ and Pretty good Stat Boosters.

However you can chose to use a Sunblast ( Boost your Fire Trap Damage ) or Rare Stun Belts

Mods to look out for in Rare Stun Belts.

1. High Armour
2. Tri Resist or Dual Resist.
3. Base Max Energy Shield
4. Physical Damage Return to Attacker

My Current Belt.

Rings and Amulets.

Spoiler
For this section. It is really whatever that makes it work for you.

I use Rare Rings and Amulets and no uniques.

For rare Amulets preferably Onyx Amulets or Gold Amulets.

Important mods for amulets you should have.

1. Spell Damage
2. Faster Casting
3. Resist All.

Bonus Mods Good to have.

1. All Atributes
2. IIR
3. Global Crit Multiplier
4. Global Crit Strike Chance.
5. Mana Regeneration
6. % to Max Energy Shield.

For Rare Rings you have more options , Moonstones , Diamond , Gold or Prismatic Rings.
Whatever that makes you happy.

Important Mods you should have.

1. Resist All
2. Mana Regeneration
3. Attributes.

Bonus Mods Good to have.

1. Fire Damage or Lightning Damage
2. Max Manag
3. IIR
4. Cast Speed

If you are to use a Unique Ring. I would think the below would be good options.

1. Dream Fragments
2. Berek's Respite
3. Bereks's Pass
4. The Taming.

My Current Rings and Amulet that I am using.

Flasks

Spoiler
Use 2 x Granite Flasks with Critical Strike Mods and Increase Armor Mods

and 3 x Quicksilver Flasks with Critical Strike Mods and Increase Movement Speed.

Have 3 x Granite Flasks with Critical Strike Mods and Remove Bleeding Ready in Stash in case you want to do Dominus Runs.

Current Flasks Setup

Can you post your skill tree?

Thanks.
Just wondering, if you use Reduce Duration would that make Storm Caller faster?

Looks pretty nice dude, i'm going to try this out!

EDIT: What do you think about this instead tho? You'll get way way more ES and still don't lose much dps or any at all actually:
