New Forum Policy: No Hateful Posts

Its not about enjoying the game, some people are just so darn offensive they need to be shut up, censored, yknow, put down before they say something that people find abhorrent. They should all go somewhere else I say, to spout their evil anti-whateveriam stuff.

I've been reading the thread and thought I'd share what I think is the biggest problem plaguing the PoE community in-game.

There are 'groups' of people that frequent a certain website, I know you all know exactly which website I'm referring to, that sit in Lioneye Watch at lvl 1-20 and troll Global 1,2 all day and night, literally. During one (of many) of my 'no-life' weekends, I played PoE for 15 hours straight nearly and I constantly saw the same exact players trolling. They (the trols) have a setup...they make a statement about religion, politics, celebrities, or say a news story to 'bait' players and then troll about Jewish people, Blacks, and Christianity. It's fairly obvious to see a troll when a players name is something like...AtheistsOfWraeclast <--not a real name to my knowledge as of this posting, reporting players for saying Merry Christmas in Global for being 'offended' which starts a huge headache in Global and usually winds up in GG having to mass mute the trolls and the people they baited who don't get that they were trolled.

My solution is to have GGG make it a requirement that you have to submit valid photo ID to open a new account. I honestly think every game company should make players submit valid photo ID to play or register, because that would cut down on a lot of problems for players and the game company. You can weed out actual underage children that shouldn't be here in the first place, and the people who never buy micro transactions but constantly troll and ruin the game experience for others just for the 'fun of it'. If GGG did want to allow underage individuals playing then there could be a pdf/form to fill out with the parents valid photo ID or their guardian/s.

This games pretty amazing as we all know, even with some of the problems, it's just the trolls ruining it, imo.

There are no groups of people trolling, there are just several individuals doing something you do not like and when you meet two or three in the same night you tend to think trolls are everywhere.
Remember, this game is played by humans of all ages. And even mature players can have a bad night or become angry for whatever reason. Believe it or not but those people are like you and me and other people around you. If you want to close your house and life to only people who do exaclty what you expect them to do then you, then you are missing a lot.

Call me a paranoid liar all you want, but it doesn't make what I said any less true. I see the same usernames trolling every evening, feeding each other and baiting as a group, so to me, that makes them a group of trolls.

Most people who play every evening or even every other evening will say it's the same people trolling.

Ok let's say there are 99 players trolling all day, 4 players do it per hour, each hour you log in you find the same 4 hours trolling, if you leave and come back a hour later you will find 4 new players trolling and baiting and stuff.
SO we have 24 groups of players trolling.

Ban them=>
1. They come back angrier
2. ggg chat will be known to be merciless.
3. Answer hate with hate.

No moderation=>
1. Unstoppable trolls
2. disgusted players
3. Sensible persons being hurt.
4. YOU and other non-trollers begin to answer them ( answer hate with hate)

Reporting system=>
1. Trolls know their limit and know they can be reported for some harsh deeds.
2. Humans acting as humans, some players waste their time responding to baits, some others enjoying little chats mixed with trolling you+other. Some players changing their global chat room to find more appropriate friends, some others playing only in party.
3. No extremely angry children.
4. Whenever someone feels hurt he can report and ask for justice, if he is right he will feel good or if he is told : what you are reporting isn't that bad then he is going to learn that it's not that important. And this is what i am saying to you : Groups is not as bad as you think. If you meet a group of trolls in real life what will you do? Feel pity for them and turn away..


What you suggested is a very bad suggestion:
- Ask non-guilty players to do something because of a little group of other players you don't love. ( valid photo ID)
- Giving importance to someone who is not.
You really should watch that video i linked if you did not already.

Breaking news : Trolls also donate and buy microtransactions.

All I have to say is that there are better ways to try to retain a player base than through censorship. Butt the game is nearly down to closed beta numbers.
