Looks like GGG's current answer for the lacking spell damage is by buffing Added Cold/Lightning.
Seems pretty huge though, instantly makes it better than Empower (except for EK of course). lvl 14 added cold 24–36 -> 46-69 |

spell damage is by buffing Added Cold/Lightning?
Spectral throw + GMP + CoC + Life leech + any spell + Added Cold/Lightning or with Quill Rain: Barrage + GMP + ... if need PCoC you can use Voll's Protector. 100500 cast in sec. no need mana. i think self caster have now 2big problem.. 1) mob resist. if disable this some build be OP (la ranger, EA ranger) 2) "need" mana leech and life leech link now self caster "need": life leech + mana leech + penetration + skill + 2gem (example gmp/lmp + only 1 "+damage" gem). and this only 6L. mele need example: skill + mele splash + 4 "+damage gem" (multistrike + mele damage + add fire + full life damage) my cold crit witch before deleting have 800-900dps (Freezing Pulse+gmp) in 70+lvl with not bad gear (107% crit for spell shield, 68% spell damage and 82% crit chance for spell dagger, 5L Voll's Protector... etc) my testing CI flicker strike shadow in 42lvl!! have aoe 700dps and 2k+ single target dps.. only 4L!! with bad gear, 35lvl dagger only. if call to mind about resist? my 42lvl shadow better 70+lvl witch.. its crazy! ) ------------------ how gameplay self caster now? only "one button" gameplay slow mob pack - Freezing Pulse (example. only main atack) faster mob pack - Freezing Pulse rare - Freezing Pulse boss - Freezing Pulse you can use any other spell? no. you need skill + life leech + mana leech + penetration (minimal). you cant add dps (or other gem) with 4L in helm/Boots/Gloves. you cant add even gmp/lmp! testing fire caster after 1.0.4..
firestorm + life leech + chance to ignite + elemental proliferation (primary aoe) fireball + lmp + life leech + (1 lvl fire gem wand) (facetanking some speed mob) flameblast + add cold + add light (some boss or blue ranger pack) cold snap + add cold + elemental proliferation + cold penetration (freeze hard mob) 33lvl (act3 normal - act1 cruel) not bad leveling) like.. now play only solo |

flamblast is really disapointing
i wanted spells to be competitive with attack based skills this skill seems to be discharge 2.0 (espeical as summoner or in groups) the changes to added lightning/cold dmg are good since it makes more! like added fire (even tough added fire can only be used on physical dmg) but is at no point a great help for caster it just adds another "semi mandatory" gem to your list of links (where we need more than attackbased builds anyway) a response from ggg would be realy helpfull maybe they just buffed these added dmg gems to improve the situation a bit for "casters" and are still working on spells/witch area in general |
