Jan 14: One-week HC Race

Can't believe we were first in progress considering how bad our team was
a bit ashamed of my death as it's not turbo, but at least I won't waste more time in a regular league

I'm way behind, but im starting a character now because i had to work earlier lol.
Should I play in the 1 week guys?
Welp, just died. Looking at the list, there's no way in hell I'll be able to catch up and get top 20. :\
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
Not a single day has passed yet and people are level 50, are you freaking kidding me. I guess these people make teams to help them, quite serious battles here :P. Okay i understand Kripparian, he is almost a machine, a warrior, a Legend, but how can people sit so much in front of the PC i will never understand. I would burst with energy in need of doing some sports, this is insane :D.

GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

Id imagine its as easy for them as doing something athletic is to athletic people. I'll never understand why people are surprised by what other people do. Like sitting in front of a Pc 24/7 is new or something.

I suppose there are people built for it, as there are people built for physical activities like athletic sports. People like Kripp... I've been watching him since the beginning, he's practically built for gaming. He approaches gaming analytically, using the same kind of study, research and critical thinking as one would do for something like say... researching stem cells or calculating the orbit of stars. This is serious stuff for gamers like that.

Me, I just barrel on trying to kill things without really thinking about it. I could never apply the same kind of thinking of invest the same amount of time that guys like Kripp does. I'm not built for it. But I'm amazed at those that are.

Those more inclined to sports would find the notion of spending all day in front of the computer ridiculous, as ridiculous as hardcore gamers would think it ridiculous for people to spend the entire day playing with balls or running around.

Well I don't completely disagree, but I don't think there is something like "beeing built for gaming".

Everybody can do it if u put in the effort and approach it with the apropriate mindset. Sure some have concentration and fingerskillZ, but that are things that can get improved.

The thing which does surprise me a little for a person like kripp, that likes to be competitive is that he always picks games wich are not competitive in their nature and wants to make the competitive like let's say sc2. Maybe he is just between a casual gamer and a pro (I mean something like a sc2-Pros)?

I'm a scientist and I see gaming as a fun thing in which I try not to use my scientific thinking.
But a lot of the time I do it anyway and it's really fun to approach gaming like science. You should give it a try for once. It gives you the feeling that you have an advantage :)

TL;DR gl&hf. PoE rulez
What a silly mistake to die to. Going to do the first bandit in western in ruthless, wanted to build some endurance charges up first, so I find some mobs and start charging up running in circles, get 3 and phase run to get to boss. Not doing the zone I didn't change into fire res gear, and silly me, when you don't have any fire res 3 or 4 suiciders can one shot you even if your not directly in front of them when they blow. Lol, what a mistake to make, don't agro elemental stuff when you don't want to fight them, even if its normally nothing to you.

Looking at the scores list, Id say i was right on pretty much all accounts, a metric crap ton of players, and partys galore. I'm not sure if a solo player will even be able to get top 20 without insane luck. Id say 10x the risk going solo vs a group even as small as 3. Groups may earn the same xp, but its not possible to balance a organized group vs one person in anything, I guess I'm happy with where its at. Ill just focus on the short solo events, since that's whats fun for me.

Good luck to those who have high hopes in this event.
