1.0.2 Microtransaction Videos and Damage Over Time Changes

We need to know more about the balance changes that will be coming with this change.

Is ignite being changed? Viper strike and poison arrow nerfed?


Also.....is proliferated ignite considered area of effect damage?
i need to understand, lets say i hit for 100 fire dmg, and have 30% increased fire and 60% increased burning:
if i ignite - 100*1.3 (increased fire) = 130
130 / 3 (ignite is always /3 *4 (sec) ) = 43.33333
43 .3333 * 1.9 (30 from fire again? + 60 from burning) =82.3333 per sec?

So are the dot skills getting any changes themselves or are just the mechanics changing?
Viper charges getting scaled down by multistrike with no other changes will make the skill pretty weak.

trust me it is...i did one in anarchy.

Witch: CI, 3 spectres, EA totem, ice spear totem, halla crit and crit multi. it was mostly for parties and pak clearing. heres the gear/tree...not optimal but very effective.

I extremely highly doubt it. It's not a burn aoe but rather an aoe that apply a burn debuff and then that debuff deals damage.

it seems that finaly the cryptics of poe mechanics attacked wider masses

dear GGG - noone understands how your game works. i think it is time that you do some writing on mechanics. esp that convoluted as DoT etc

searing touch - how will that work?
adder touch - affected or not? what is the adder touch dmg value?
viper strike + conc effect + multistrike - what is the dmg of 1 lvl20 stack on a mob?

etc etc

there are TOO MANY questions like these already

Question on how increased fire damage affects ignite:

Previously, increased fire damage increased the based fire attack damage which then resulted in a higher burn damage as this was multiplied by 4/3

Now, given increased fire damage affects burn as well, does that mean that the effect is doubled? Firstly, on the fire attack from which ignite is calculated from, and again from the increase on the burn damage itself?

I'm guessing you wouldn't allow the double effect but wanted to check anyway :)
