Dan's Scion

I wonder, how will it work with normal rares?
Is it even worth to roll?

IMO, you can do this build with CI but use abyssus to boost your damage. CI will grant you more ES than low life, use it to make up for the loss of ES helm. You still, however, need to take IR and run Grace.
Will it work, of course it will. You only need 5-10k tooltip dps for spectral throw to map efficiently.

And fyi, since i was arguying with YOU now, I obviously ment it for the ci build, I mean seriously how daft can you get. Even filthy rich characters that have been farming for a while, by far not ALL can afford a 6l shavronne's, that item is just plain out of the equation if you'r making any builds for public at all, since you know, there is only a TINY handful of people even on standard server that can afford or already have one. If you'r posting a build in public saying this is the best build for you guys, oh hey yeah by the way you would need an item that costs 150+ ex to farm maps to begin with, i mean seriously how far can one ego go?

YET again I'll repeat the same thing, this build, only possibly works at all, if you have spent a ludicrous amount of currency on it. And even then it's only average and as good as many MANY other end game builds that DON'T require godlike item level. And if you then compare this particular build with many other builds that were created around godlike items, it's just plain crap and lacking both effective dps (you have very low accuracy) and survival (like 5 of my last posts explaining why, in short, low block chance even though you'r using a #1 shield (???WHYWHYWHYWHY), low evasion which is simply not enough to reliably say this next phys attack won't kill me, NON existant armour, meaning, that next phys WILL kill you, and low chaos res, which can be perfectly seen from your last video on youtube, where 5 seconds of 20 chaos dmg/sec actually takes you to half your es (LOL), as well as not to mention non existant defenses from status ailments such as shock stacks (you have neither anti shock/ignite nor freeze flask which i pointed earlier LOL gg end game yyy?)

I mean seriously that's what's getting me, you got people asking you multiple times will this work on real life normal gear that one would find acquire normally. What do you answer to them?! oh yeah go ci bro it'll be all good. LOL no it won't. This build, is a puddel. A crappy one with a broken leg at best.

abyssus LOL i'm out fk this.

I see some people who played this game more than a year and still don't understand why this build is the "best" build. From my understanding, the creator of this build is defining "best" as in 'invulnerable to most situations.' I completely agree on this definition because in sports and games, perfecting defense before investing in offense is a better idea in my opinion.

So what makes this build close to defense perfect?

In terms of important defense, there are mainly life/ES,resistance(Fire, Cold, Lightning, Chaos), armour/evasion, life leech, stun avoidance, freeze avoidance, main attack = ranged attack, and your damage per hit(in terms of damage reflect).

1. Choice of Energy shield vs Life

Choosing your base defense as Energy shield gives you the ability to use the Pain Attunement node. A lot of builds use CI, which is a "cheap" alternative, since chaos resistance can be achieved via gear. However, this build makes use of the Pain attunement node, similar to CI in the sense that ES is the base defense, but different from it because you are not immune to chaos but you get to use more auras with blood magic and also have 30% more damage. Although you are not "immune" to chaos, you become "safe" from chaos damage anyway with the help of Shavs. Though you take more damage to your ES, but will not take anymore once your ES is completely depleted, which is unlikely to happen because of the insane recharge rate + leech
Very decent amount of total ES,very high ES recharge speed(third of the total ES per second), and ability to leech a big portion of the physical damage to ES instantly.
Also, Discipline aura boosts more ES.

2. Resistances

It's obvious from his screenshots that his resistances are already at 75(though not 77). Taking more damage from chaos really doesn't have much effect on this build as explained above.

3. Armour/Evasion

I have yet the knowledge to understand how this build has this much armour. I'm assuming all the dex nodes are giving armour with the help of Iron Reflexes. Then Grace + flasks gives a bonus.

4. Life Leech

First of all, this build has a high amount of leech percentage and this build makes the use of Vaal Pact, allowing instant ES Leech + more flasks. Vaal Pact also allows you to play smoothly in maps with the mods 50% less life/mana regeneration and no life/mana regeneration.

5. Stun Avoidance

Cannot be stunned from Unwavering Stance

6. Freeze Avoidance + Chill/Freeze Duration

Cannot be frozen from Dream Fragments Sapphire Ring
Chill/Freeze duration I do not understand completely the mod given from Auxium Chain Belt

7. Ranged Attack

This build's main skill is spectral throw, a ranged attack, therefore, gives you more room to be safe in the sense that you don't have to go up too close to mobs.

8. Damage per hit (In terms of damage reflect)

I say Damage per hit instead of DPS, because You can either achieve high DPS either through High Damage per hit x low APS or "Low" Damage per hit x High APS. So, if your build is more on the lower side on the damage per hit criterion, mobs would reflect less damage per hit(% of your damage per hit), whereas if your on the upper side on the damage per hit criterion, mobs would reflect more damage per hit.
I quoted "low" damage because this build's damage is actually insanely high both in general and especially for spectral throw.
Spectral throw is not defined as AOE, but it has a low DPS compared to single target skills, because of its ability to attack multiple targets per attack. Its low DPS has a huge effect on his BiS gear because if he were to use a melee skill instead, phyical reflect would be too overwhelming(Too much reflect per hit). Using spectral throw gives him the ability to play through reflect maps/mobs easily without being careful.
Hatred gives him a decent elemental damage boost, which also would not have much effect on reflect maps.

With all these pros, this build is so great in defense, that its "lack" of DPS would not be a problem. Biggerboom already said that he would rather invest in more ES than more DPS, since his DPS is already high enough.

P.S: I also very much like the fact that this build uses the new character Scion, uses the relatively new skill spectral throw, and is viable for the latest patch.
Until this guy posts a video of him soloing a 77 shrine piety or 78 dominus, there is no point in even discussing if this is the best endgame build. Frankly, he always makes excuses in his videos like how he cannot roll more dangerous mods, when it is honestly not that hard to chaos spam a map to get some hard mods.

I dare this guy to run a temp chain , -max, multi proj 77/78 map, there is no way his build can handle these map mods, and therefore, his ridiculous statement of it being the ultimate endgame build is grossly overstated.

TLDR: DO not post anymore lvl 74 and extremely easy mods on crematorium, and show us the true potential of the build, with 77/78 maps with hard mods like you claim you can do. Do a Poorjoy's or some 77/78 maps with real mods instead of making up some ridiculous excuses like you cannot roll those mods.

Until you can prove in videos that you can do these maps, this is just another insanely expensive build with no true ultimate endgame potential.

N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

a) He is using #1 shield, which alone costs 10 times more than most people will ever accumulate. Yet he has 0 block chance from skill tree, 0 shield defenses from the tree and 0 spell block chance, making wearing the shield VOID. Dual wielders get higher block chance just from picking up the usual dps nodes ALONE. shocking is it not? (he sure likes his shock stacks i bet)
b) His "armour" is that high because he has used 80-90% increased armour during effect flask + granite flask before he took the screen shot. In reality, without lieing yet again, his armour will be around 4-5k max with auras. (that's really just stupidly basic maths look at his gear and tell me how much armour or evasion do you see there)
c) His resists are irrelevant since phys mobs will be raping him the moment they flicker/reach to melee. But even then, as i said before, his chaos res alone is pathetic, a 20dmg a sec chaos map takes his shields to 50% within seconds. It doesn't matter if he had 100% all res, if his chaos res is null, his elem survival stats are null.
d) Vaal pact, or more commonly known as #yolopact is incredibly risky node to use, and only ever really used much by standard league or dom characters. You have yourself said, that any lol-pro player, will first think defense and only then offense. Than you go ahead and rape your own point by saying hey good job you took an offensive ability. Being able to heal yourself, only if your projectiles are hitting, is a bad idea. ask any actually above average player and they will tell you than ANY DAY they would choose passive regen over vaal pact.
pefect example to how yolo this is, is ATHENE, dieing on nemesis with rediculous geared for the lvl char to a dot.
e) his status ailments does not exist, he has to use a 10 chaos low lvl unique loosing major dps just to feel slightly safer for himself, when really he could spend 10 alterations and have a flask that does the same job and have a ring that would add another 20% more dps to his build.
f) as i said before, all those things point to the following facts, this build only works on certain end game maps, a few of them unless you'r planning to dump your currency pool remaking maps non stop, the two major maps being close to impossible to finish in this build. Again, him saying that he can solo piety and dominus is just a pure lie. he cannot, you can spend the time and currency and make that build and see for yourself.

Woah, Woah. Find me someone who is running a max spell block build who is willing to run multi proj, -max, temp chains crematorium, palace, or shrine maps. Nobody will run those because it is like asking to die for no good reason. I'm friends with some of the strongest players in normal, and they WOULD NOT run a palace map on temp chains, -max, and multiple projectiles because it is the dumbest thing anyone who wants to conserve exp can do. Maybe 2 of those mobs out of 3, but never all 3 together, unless you had a build SPECIFICALLY designed for those kind of situations (like one of my friend's glacial hammer build that perma-freezes dominus on palace; he can do any maps except for elemental reflect or physical reflect, because those things kill him). No build in this game can handle the WORST possible scenario for their build. Max block chance builds still can't handle -max resist multi projectile dominus without being ULTRA careful. With my build, fighting against -max resist multiple projectile dominus on palace would be possible, but too risky for me to want to do it just to try to prove you wrong. I've been trying for the past while to find someone willing to sell me a palace map, so that I can run it with some hard mods like multiple projectiles.

I'd like to point out that I never claimed the build to the best in defensive capability. I do claim that it is the best spectral throw build possible with the most expensive equipment. The current best defensive build is max block, hands down, because block is a broken mechanic that allows you to mitigate 100% of damage, pretty much, if you're running with aegis aurora. However, most 1h block builds have DPS values that are around 1/8 - 1/4 of mine, at best.

Also, I just did a double shrine piety map with -max resists and physical reflect. Video will be up soon ;]
literally anyone with aegis max block and max spell block can run those maps with eyes closed currency buying noob. That's the whole point of that kinds of builds, low dps but actual impossible to kill tank. l2p idiot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_MO_sX-AOQ

look at that video clueless noob, what was that you said? the guys gear doesn't cost a third of yours. RIP currency? If I just spent, over 900 bucks worth of ingame currency, the least I would expect out of my in game results would be being able to you know, solo anything anywhere at any difficulty, instead of being proud of doing maps people can do with self found items and common sense skill tree builds.

I will repeat yet again, doing ridiculously easy map affixes means literally nothing in your gear. n o t h i n g. It doesn't at all confirm any of your points. You are yet to reply anything at my stabs on major flaws in your defenses, as well as skill tree which i keep saying over and over to no reply.

Dude. You're quite butthurt. Just watch the video to see how easy it was lol. And no, most max-block builds would NOT want to do that map. Nobody WANTS to do a phys reflect -max resist double piety shrine map. Those kind of rolls are always re-rolled, but I just wanted to find a map that was relatively difficult (especially for a crit build).
