Think it's base amount assosiated with minion gem lvl affected by some gems (minion dmg, extra X dmg, fast attack), talents and auras. Well some gear have minion specific skills/stats, but that's about it.

Can I ask why my skeletons have nearly half the health of my zombies?
And that's with Minion life added to the skeletons.

Just seems a bit weird to me.

Edit: Nevermind. My skeletons gem was a level lower. But still 300 health behind :(

That's a matter of balance. Skeletons do play a different role than zombies do. Zombies are your long(ish) lasting tanks, skeletons are decaying, short lived summons.

That's also why you need corpses for one and nothing for the other kind.

Can someone please recommend where I should go from here? Did I mess up going for that 3 point life node near MI? I just got MI a couple levels ago. Currently lvl 15.. Survivability currently isn't a problem. I don't even use summons really at the moment as freezing pulse/nova and fire trap destroy most packs of normal mobs in about 1 second or less. Im basing probably going to go with this topics authors build. Should I head for hex master/whisper of doom and eldrich battery right now? Since its a battery build should i go for life nodes with some resist nodes here and there? I am heading to Lord of the Dead right now, i'll have that at lvl 17...Sorry if this post is acluster f***. Im still learning this is like my 5th witch. I really dont like the idea of relying on CI especially after the nerf... I just want to make sure this is a basic pure summoner build and be able to solo surive through all difficulties. And should i go with double totem with hex master/whisper of doom and eldrich? Not sure if I like the idea of relying 100% on totems for my dmg. means I wont be able to pvp at all even if i wanted to. Thank you


Edit - Now im thinking the route I went altogether was just a waste.. Im looking at everyone elses builds and not sure if I took the right path to get to MI quickly.. 50% of the people seem to recommend CI and the other half hate it now.. grrrrr. Might have to make a new witch again

wow this really is a nicely done guide, great job mate and thank you for all the effort that went into it, i do have one question tho:

Your recommended "health"-build for the witch does pick up quite a few Healthnodes (which i can fully understand because it is a health-build and pretty much what i am looking to do), but lets say i would want to pick CI later on when chaos damage starts hitting hard, would all those Healthnodes become void/useless with CI or do they still give some kind of bonus?

Because if they really do become useless i think i would not pick up CI at all.

Completely useless.
So no CI for me then ;)
you should add a list of good mobs to spectre. from the top of my head the gorillas in act 2 are good, they frenzy your whole group and the flame sentinels from act 3 solaris temple are good for mass aoe fireballs

I know that this is a forum for witches and I'm a templar. but this thread for the summoner so I think it's ok;]

I need help on my build. How does he look like and what should I forgive? Currently, I plan to increase the amount of my life. Maybe I should invest in some resistance, I do not know. So please help. Now it looks like this:

Current Passive skill tree build

In the distant future would look like this:

Distance futurePassive skill tree build

Is this build will be ok in the late game? or what should I do to be better? Skills which I use are:

Zombies+minion DMG+Max life+life on hit(I plan to replace it for quicker attacks, but unfortunately I do not have the appropriate sockets)
Skelletons+minion DMG+Spell totem+(faster attacs in near future)
Arc+lightning DMG+Reduce mana+lightning pene
Wrath aura+increase AoE
Conductivity

Sometimes I have some problems with mana. Mby dual totem will be better?
