do you have a link to a dual spork totem (pure) build?

Yes - in the References section, Dominion's dual-spark build is a dual spork totem build.

I'll have to look into how to do this.

I'd like to finish my build first though, e.g. at the moment I don't have a Life Leech gem in Domination, so my poor spectres sometimes don't survive as well as they should!
Minor update - changed the title (patch 1.0.3 made no difference).

I adjusted my Zombie support gems after additional research and experimentation, and currently this is working really well:

Zombie Support Gems

4L (BBRR): Raise Zombie + Minion Damage + Melee Physical Damage + Endurance Charge on Melee Stun

I've settled into using 2 different spectres depending on the area. For open areas (e.g. Dried Lake), I use Flame Sentinels. They're great at keeping enemies at a distance in open maps. Their downside is that in cramped dungeon-like areas mobs are able to close and kill them. They're also more of a pain to acquire in the first place. Sometimes I have to almost full-clear Solaris before finding any (thanks RNG).

For the dungeon areas, I use Burned Miscreations. They're most dangerous at close range, so an area with lots of corners and obstacles suits them perfectly. They seem to be easier to acquire too, I don't have to spend much time wandering Lunaris before finding them.

I'm using the same set of gems for both:

General Spectre Support Gems

4L (BBRG): Raise Spectre + Minion Life + Life Leech + Blind

Blind works really well with the implicit Moonsorrow Blind on the spork totems. Most mobs are perma-blinded, which lets the zombies mop them up with ease.

If you don't mind swapping helms or gems to optimize the supports for Flame Sentinels or Burned Miscreations, then some options are:

Flame Sentinels

4L (BBRG): Raise Spectre + Minion Life + Life Leech + Lesser Multiple Projectiles
Burned Miscreations

4L (BBRR): Raise Spectre + Minion Life + Life Leech + Increased Burning Damage
Updated title for 1.0.5 (no difference) and updated some of the text (mainly minor tweaks).

I think I'll experiment with adding Blind to my skeletons in place of Added Fire Damage / Fire Penetration and see how that goes - it seems more in keeping with the Blind motif already in place for the Spork totem and Spectres.

I'd also like to change the name of the build at some point. "Visual Mayhem" was always a working title in my mind, but I haven't yet come up with anything better...
Thanks for taking the time to write this. I've run a summoner in open beta up to L63, but not since then. She's got all her points respec'd (due to the restart), so I may go back to her. I'll probably do something like this, although with the new Summon Raging Spirit spell for the spell totems, rather than spark.
I've been playing other characters recently, so hadn't tried this one since the 1.0.6 Summoner Patch.

Holy crap! Zombies and skeletons wreck stuff and take almost no damage.

My rule-of-thumb for evaluating the build is to run Cruel Dominus and see how that goes:
  • Before the patch, I'd lose all my spectres, most of my zombies and finish the fight with only skeletons and the blinding spork totems.
  • After the patch, my zombies face-tanked Dominus - only one died. My spectres all survived.

And this is without running Vitality, or a Rejuvenation Totem. I haven't even got the 3% minion life leech passive (yet).

I think I'll try Merciless Dominus next and see how that goes. Should be interesting - I've never done that before...
Merciless Dominus wasn't too bad - 1 death, which should be avoidable with a bit more practice.

My spectres lasted OK until Dominus, then slowly got picked off. Zombies were pretty good, but had to be frequently re-summoned. Skeletons were just (exploding) cannon fodder, but in combination with the spork totems they kept a lot of mobs permanently blinded.

Dominus in his 2nd form was easy - throw up 2 spork totems and surround him with skeletons.

Loot

Yay! An ilevel 70 Last Resort!
Updated for 1.1.0 - the patch made no significant difference since the changes to the passive tree weren't in the Witch area. Spork totems, mana and ES are probably a bit stronger due to the buffs to Witch nodes.

Still can't think of a better name, but removed "Visual Mayhem" and added 'Blinding' since that's a significant feature of the build.

Currently working on levelling up a couple of characters in Ambush, one will be following this build.
