[1.2.x] Oos' Crit Dagger Capped Block Ranger (Reave / Flicker / Double Strike) Acrobatics or IR

Thanks for the advice, I see what you mean. However; you didn't answer either of my actual questions about the build differences.

Hi Oos,

I've been running this build for the past 2 weeks or so, and I just thought I'd come by to say thanks and share some of my experience with the build so far :)

I have got it to level 81 by now, currently running this spec. I have around 13k DPS with hatred on and only 18/0 gems, which is really nice, and it already feels like I don't require much more. I have neglected some survivability in my current build, but it's actually not an issue at all, and, I'm planning to catch up on it now that I've got all the DPS nodes I wanted.

Through some experimentation I have found out that a little investment in lightning damage helps this build a lot, since 3 crits in a row with multistrike shock stack nearly all trash and magic monsters, and I expect it to get even better with gear upgrades. That point was just enough justification for me to use Berek's Grip as one of my rings (and I had one in stash anyway).

Speaking of gear, this is what I'm currently using:

Spoiler

There is, of course, much room for inmprovement, but overall I'm quite satisfied with it. Finding this dagger for mere 5 chaos was a huge luck, but finding a suitable substitute for it might cost me a fortune, so currently I'm saving up for that and, possibly, a good 5-6L (yes, still using 4L for main attack, but even this way it's not bad at all).

So, that's my minor recap an feedback. Thanks for sharing this build, it's really enjoyable and fun to play :)

Got side tracked I guess.
You asked about HP and Stun Recovery, right?

HP is a little low, but not too bad. I have 4.7k life, but because you block so much you take very little damage, it's like having 10k effective life vs attacks.

Block and Stun Recovery, I have Heart of The Oak in the Ranger start, it's a powerful node and I never get stun locked, even with Acrobatics. You wont feel any stun with IR really.

Gear looks good, I think you should get a 5L chest and add Crit Damage/Added Fire/PCoC or another dps support, will help a lot.

Nice dagger, and yeah, shock stacks are good shit :)

Hey Oos.

I am currently lvl 76 I just wanna say i love your build it is so much fun and viable even for low budget thank you for sharing it with us.

Now this is my current gear i've been mapping with .

What should i be aiming for now? I had some good currency drops and been thinking about what i should i been looking for currently.

Again thanks for the build man really fun , viable and easy to understand.

I wanted to put this out there for everyone. Before you start speccing into eager nodes, you can use a blood seeker claw. It has huge life leech and the leech is instant. It what I'm using to map with now and the damage is still OP for low maps at least. Lvl 68 and still no deaths ;)
Thanks for the reply Oos!

I had a question for others trying this build, and maybe even for Oos...

I am currently level 59, and I just hit Act 3 on merci... One of the things I am noticing with this build thus far is the lack of elemental resistances; I am finding it really difficult to find gear that keeps my resistances about 30-40% in mercri, simply because there are very few, if any passive nodes.

The other thing I am concerned about is armor; I am doing the IR version and my armor is still only 2600ish.

I have almost 60% block already, but if I don't block the attack they REALLY hurt, and elemental damage is really effin my world up.

Any suggestions? I know it's still really early, but I am going to start mapping the level 66 maps soon and I just feel like I would get rolled.

How long did it take you to get the right gear combo to max out resists? and the armor will never really be that high will it?

-Thanks
Resistances are a HUGE draw back on this side of the tree. I for one took the +8 res from bandit in norm. Doesn't sound like much but ehh.

is how im dealing with res, plus the INT is huge, and the EVA is not bad.
The block rate is low but can be over come with a few nodes. getting res nodes is to far out of the way so i feel this is a superior shield to the crest.

Your gear is pretty nice, I guess mostly focus on getting higher life and armour on your gear. It looks mostly fine though.

Then to increase your dps; accuracy can roll one jewelry and helmet (and gloves but Maligaros op). Your amulet is decent but you can get INSANE amulets, there's unfortunately not many on the market.

Glad you enjoy the build. As you level you'll get more crit nodes and better defense, the nodes in this build scale everything really nicely, so there's good progression compared to other builds.

Id suggest using a Kite Shield to progress Merciless if you're low on resists. I used one for a while before I was properly geared up for maps. The only problem is you lose Crest and the life leech, so you'll need to use life leech gem unless you have it on gear.

I set up a spreadsheet to work out my total resists, it helps you plan your gear properly and get a specific item with the two resists you need to fill a gap.

I'm going to try out this build soon. My question is how do you get enough str/int to equip your items and gems? I dont see much in the tree or your gear.

Hey just one more question , what's your opinion on carcass jack? Would a 4L be better than my current 5L chest ? Or i should just straight buy a 5L carcass or is it not worth it?
