[1.2.x] Oos' Crit Dagger Capped Block Ranger (Reave / Flicker / Double Strike) Acrobatics or IR

Hey again Oos,

I would like some advice on where I should head next with this build. Last time your advice was really helpful, I bought a Bino's, switched to Hatred instead of Tempest Shield, and switched to Reave instead of Double Strike.

Here's my current passives, gear, offensive page, defensive page, and DPS (in town).

Passives

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYABH4FfQW1BfkOSBGWFfAWvxi9GtsbrR4aHoEi6iP2JDwmlSepKCorbyzhMFQwcTIBOJY6QjpYPeJI7klRSn1LeEuNVUtW6lb1VvpaSFptYeJirGegbXtwUnBWeK59dX3jfll_xocZh3aH24hCjDaOipAbl9CZV5oTmyadlp2qo4qmf6c0p1ysZrGzshmyRLTFtUi3F7fTuT7AUcHFwuzGos3qz3rTftQj1p3Xy9h22j3bbtvU3aje9uOE53To1u1B7g7v8PPq-WP8xf66_xz_kw==

Where should I head next?

Depth Perception

Aspect of the Panther+Pressure Points

Throatseeker

Somewhere else? Anything I should change about the tree?

Gear

Where should I head next for my gear? Finding better rings/amulets is tough. There's just not much out there that would be an upgrade. I do check XYZ frequently.

I'm thinking my next big gear upgrade should be a 6L chest and an Abyssus to replace my BoR. If I was to do that -- is there a unique chest you would recommend? I am considering a Daresso's Defiance or a Lightning Coil. Would the DD mess up the survivability from CWDT + Enduring Cry + Immortal Call?

Offensive page

Defensive page

Reave

I'll basically echo what missuse said, read his post.
You can drop the two Fencing nodes to free up a couple of points.

As for gear, your jewelry isn't perfect and you can get a lot out of those slots. But if you're set on a 6L then I'll recommend Lightning Coil if you can get the lightning res. The chest is amazingly strong. Abyssus is insane dps but the drawback is kinda nasty at high level, but when paired with Lightning Coil then it's manageable (but their effects kinda cancel each other out, so this setup would be purely for a big dps boost).

DD is a decent chest but you'll need to drop the CwDT setup. I'd recommend Lightning Coil or a high evasion rare chest.

vaal boss:

take two topaz and any other flasks, avoid smash. Pretty easy, especially with lvl 20 purity of lightning and safel.

trio bosses:
granite flask
jade flask
HP pot
remove bleeding on some flasks

use of enduring cry and IC is a almost mandatory. I cast EC manually and let IC pron via CWDT

kill bosses in corners, I prefer killing in this order: cycloner>RoA>dualstriker

EC>3 charges>flicker in the boss>run away when IC is over, repeat till all are dead. Take your time to kill them in corners and in the correct order. Grace + tempest or hatred + tempest and crest shield for them.

Atziri
purity of fire and lightning lvl 20 and safel. 2-3 fire and 2 topaz flasks, one should have remove bleeding at least.

Can tank all except double flame-blast.
Always leave some charges in flasks for the clone phase.
Do not hit the clone holding the mirror.

That all

First of all hello and congratulations @Oos for a great build
2nd thanks @missuse for the feedback

i'm currently at lvl 91 with a shadow build trying to handle atziri.
With my atziri gear i have 4600 hp ,phase acrobatics, ~23k reave , 70% spell block , 82% fire resist and 81% lightning resist.
I can handle very well the vaals and the trio bosses with ec+ic BUT the third phase of atziri really destroys me.
I can take some fire damage using the ruby flaks but that bleed really is a pain in the ass.
i have with me at least 3 life flasks that remove bleed but i get no luck with them.
That lack of life regen is a big problem imo.
At which of the four mirrors of atziri do you strike?
Any other thought about the 4mirrors phase?

I (among others i believe )would really appreciate if you or Oos could make a short video just with the atziri fight

Thank you for your time

Carnage Heart or Stone of Lazwhar decent for this build?

Carnage Heart is great for leveling but the -life isn't great for maps. Necklace slot is extremely strong for crit builds so you'll want a strong rare neck with life/crit/phys dmg/leech.

Stone of Lazwhar is good for some boss fights, same with Saffel's Frame. I keep the shield on weapon swap and the Stone in my inventory, swapping them out for some fights like Piety/Megaera/Dom.

I made some calculations to compare the DPS increase of 4 power charges with the flat 1.4 multiplier of added fire damage in a scenario with 700% crit multi and a dagger with 10% base crit chance.
The added fire gem clearly beats the power charges DPS wise. The only reasons I can think of where you would use PCoC are:

1) You are using Bino's and want more consistent crits.
2) You are using a mirrored dagger. In this case crits become much more valuable since they
enable you to oneshot.

I am using a 10% crit dagger
1.1 mana multiplier on Pcoc is prefered to 1.3 multiplier for added fire
with PCoC I get 95% crit chance
I prefer doing phys dmg
I like the blue charges dancing around me

ATZIRI GEAR
Spoiler

any time I enjoy it,

I did not have the bleed problem when doing atziri. This might be due to gear differences (I play on std and have good gear even for standard) but apart for more life I do not see what on my gear could make the bleed unnoticeable.
So I think its one of the following reasons.
1. Most of my atziri runs were done while I was spaced IR.

Atm if I were to spec in IR I would prob do something like this

after that I got a lightning coil so I respeced back to acro

in any case I had decent phys dmg mitigation and bleed is based on phys dmg taken.

2. While I am fighting atz, I move away only from double flameblast, I tank everything else with flasks and safel and 2 purities. So the bleed is not noticeable coz I am standing still.

Gears

lvl 91 ranger with slight variant of Oos's build
Atziri (solo) is easy with a bit of preparations.

Vaal

easy. just dodge slam and lightning. will take less than a minute

Three boss

I brought high lvl EC, IC, and molten shell for manual cast in addition to cwdt setup but didn't relly use them much.
I used blood rage with Ming's heart here for more life leech.
I could facetank two (DS and ROA) at the same time and accidentally killed DS guy first cuz of reave.
As for the cyclone boss, wait till he cyclone to u and use whirling blade in the same direction of his cyclone.

Atziri

Used saffels and swapped ming's for HP ring.
purity of lighting and fire help a lot. I had enough dps without hatred.
clone phase was the most difficult for me. flame blast+storm call combo got me twice. :(
didn't have much problem with bleed tho..
I can try with 4% spell block stone of lazwar next time.

Thanks for the great build.

Also,
Spoiler

would u recommend crafting this dagger? heard that daggers are not good for crafting :(

I speced to IR with no luck. Actually i was a lot 'tankier' with phase acro.
The problem is the low armor/eva i get from my gear. a26% phys dmg reduction does nothing at all. That phys/bleed attack gets me instantly to half/low life and without life regen i cant keep up with flasks.
Going full speed ahead for a lightning coil!
Since I am about to hit level 91 and almost got enough regret orbs for a respec, I tried to come up with a build that is more suitable for reave (currently using the build of my old ST dagger setup).
Both specs are IR builds for the reason that I am already used to playing with IR and mostly play in partys, where I can then abuse the Grace&IR combo.

Build1:

This build focuses on getting max block (using a rare shiled with 36% block, which is why all the block nodes are needed) and also takes the nearby Golem's Blood.

Build2:

This build is more efficient since less points are wasted on stats and is also more damage oriented.

My thoughts:
If I were to value all stats equally build2 would be the clear favorite as it is more efficient with its skillpoints. Blocknodes however are very powerful, especially if you manage to hit the cap. Currently I am around 30k DPS on Reave (with Hatred) on a 5L, which seems somewhat decent. The question that arises is, wether the additional damage increase from build2 is actually needed or if I should rather take the improved block % of build 1.

Statistics from poebuilder.com:
Life: equal
DPS: Build2 DPS (38.8k DPS) ~ 1.26* Build1 DPS (30.7k DPS)
Defence: Build1 75% block <-> Build2 66% block
-> Build1's chance to avoid getting hit ~ 1.26* Build2's chance.

I am thankful for any feedback on the two build variants. Especially thoughts of the more experienced reave users (namely Oos & missuse) would be greatly appreciated.

I am playing similar version of this build based on claws.

Sharing in case anyone is intrested.

Passive tree:

Moderate equipment I think, still room for upgrades:
Spoiler

I am lvl 81 and have almost 4,5k life. Using mainly Reave agains crowds (avg dps: 10,5k) and DS against single targets (avg dps: 15k), FS when needed. Dmg rises when I am charged up.
