FPS Drops when Fighting

My FPS is typically stable at 90-100, but sometimes when I fight it sporadically drops to very low FPS (~1) and goes back in, making me basically freeze for half a second. What could be causing this? I'm using a 5850 ATI Radeon Graphics card on a 1920x1080 Display. Changing texture seems to do nothing to change this, and neither does shadows from what I see.

I got the same issue, my computer spec:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs)
Available OS Memory: 16290MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Graphic card : ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB DDR5
1920 x 1080 resolution
Newest Radeon Hd 5800 series drivers
"12-10_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4"
12.10 Catalyst version
Driver packaging version 9.002-120928m-148276C-ATI
Direct3D Version 9.14.10.0926
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.11931

Soundcard
Realtek
Driver Version: 6.00.0001.6251

Have around 100-250fps max graphic settings and get these fps spikes down to 1-10fps.
Changing from max to lowest graphic settings makes almost no difference in fps and the spikes is still there.
I run games that require more power from the computer then this game and they run smooth.

It totally ruins the gaming experince as you can understand , please look into this.

Can send/pm whole Dxdiag file if needed just contact me

I'm relieved someone else with similar stats is having the same issue. Hopefully it's not a problem on our end, or at least it's easily fixable.
Bump!
Have you tried turning on VSync in your graphical options to see if that helps? Anything over 60-80 FPS is unseeable to the human eye anyways.

I thought about that, but alas, VSync does nothing to solve this. After playing with this for a while, I see that's it's much more prevalent with Heavy Strike on my Marauder. Maybe it's something with the skill? Or maybe I'm just noticing things that aren't there.
Bump.
Interesting. I have the same problem and I am also running Radeon HD 5850 Graphic card, latest drivers etc. Makes life a bit dangerous. Hope it's not a hardware issue.

Bump.
Same problem on the alpha. Tried different settings with no luck.

Radeon 7850 latest drivers

Update: So i checked my catalyst control settings and realised i had vsync override on. Changing it back to application controlled seemed to help quite a bit.
