there is no gear in this game that will make up for what purity lost , nothing offers capped resists for just mana.

i shutter to think what pure int classes will need to do to get 77 resist all now.
poor fuckers .


what really bugs me is that none one asked for this , there were no threads saying , herbdidur purity is op nerf it please , all the many thousands of things people have constantly complained about .


the gear check dominuses , the broken map situation , the unfair diminishing returns on mf ,

the opness of discharge, the worthlessness of curses vs bosses. the blood magic passive being inferior in every way to the gem

all of those valid and much more important things being thrown around all the time ,


ggg decides to nerf purity a change NO ONE WANTED or cared about. WHAT ..... THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!!?

it was op because it was good for people who had horrible gears that is all there is to it.

I like the split versions. Classic purity will basically become a leveling aura, but I think that's ok. To me the greatest thing about purity's was its +2max and its usefulness against reflect for heavy spellcasters. Now the split versions will be even more powerful in that regard.

These changes don't really invalidate any builds, but the DO increase the viability of non-vaalpact casters. I think that's great.

Disagree, Purity was useful for more than just mitigating reflect damage. As a melee it was pretty much essential in the endgame since a lot of damage is unavoidable, especially with how dangerous shock stacks are. To troll melee even harder, the lightning resist aura is pure INT.
I am never pleased with nerfs. Purity was taking flat mana reserve thus some builds couldn't use it because of low mana. Now they might be able to use it, but my Eldrich Battery build will have to drop one more aura. At this point, I might just drop EB fully and keep my ES as extra defense. I used purity to give me extra +3 to max res because I cannot reach Elemental adaptation (without literally wasting 10 passive points).

I don't fully understand the reason for this nerf, but I am somehow convinced that it is related to a few streamers and 0.001 of builds that somehow abused it.

Also, I am pretty sure clarity is next on the list to go from flat to 40%. BB Clarity.

Please take into account the summoners out there. We need purity for our minions. As a support class it was interesting to bring increased max resist to the group. Now Its mostly a wasted aura since every serious high level player has max res and is not gonna count on you being around to cover holes in his gear.

And summoners also need vitality, so thats already two mandatory auras.

dont get me wrong I love summoner its a lot of fun. i dont like how this change is nerfing its already disputable group utility. (and when i say group it begins with 2 players, not referring to faceroll 6 members dedicated parties)

So yes its a nerf to solo/small group play as I see it.
But I love a challenge. i just dont like how they kill the utility from purity. even 1% max res would be fine. it would scale less hard with aura nodes, and it would still be a viable pick for solo/small party to enhance survivability.

With that change, organized groups will be able to get ridic ele res cap (85+) making highest lvl content trivial and boring.
while solo/small parties who used purity will take 20% more ele dmg than before.
