[1.0.2] Tri Element Trapper
holy molly that shield <3, so im quite happy to see this build is still alive , been leveling a trapper to use it , at lvl 45 right now , firetrap is having some difficulty in cruel crema but thats all expected , got the divinarius and carcass waiting for me as well, i was actually wondering what uniques would fit in that build so happy to see those seem to work out , as for the helmet , would a alphas howl be nice or thats useless aura buffs? ( as i have one )

" Overall, the alpha's howl is considered to be a pretty weak end-game helmet, however, it does have its perks. A benefit that the alpha's provides is possibly an additional aura (which are all good, just to answer your question), and has a high evasion rating which adds a lot of armor (if you run iron reflexes). Although the helmet does provide high def and an additional aura, if you do not have maxed resists, high hp then this helmet is best to be avoided. Just on a side note - if you play HC or Invasion league then do stay clear of this helmet and get something that offers more survivability. |

Hey guys, I'm planning a trapper because I managed to corrupt +1 gems onto a deerskin.
It's forced into BBBG though, and I'm seeing red duration in all of your ones. Is this necessary? If not, how could I replace it with a blue gem? Thanks for any help! |

I can see where a white socket would be nice in these boots, to test various gems & perhaps, survive a future nerf *erm* 'modification' to the game.
These boots are really cheap for the build. One thing I didn't realize until last night (only been playing trapper since start of 4m leagues) is these boots are like a QS flask (almost 30% vs 40%). Great for this build, and sooo cheap. BLAMT!

throwing a trap and QS together is pretty zoom zoom lol.
I'm finding it really difficult to get my trap damage up there. I got super lucky with a wand that has some spelldamage on it and +2 fire gems, so i threw fire trap, increased burning, and ele prolif in there. That trap is decent, but my lightning trap (i dont have a high quality shock nova available), bear trap, and cold snap traps are all pitiful. Party play makes me feel like an extra body leeching gear and xp... Even in single player games the kill speed is slow, and im decently overleveled for the content (currently 61 doing early A2 merc). " I'm having the same problem. It's sad that Searing Bond does a better job on most mobs than my traps. Not only that, I'm constantly running into F/I/L resistant mobs (act 3 cruel) so I'm pretty much forced to use SB. I'm thinking of re-rolling because it's just to slow. |

Alright I don't post on forums much but let me just chime in here. Level 60 noob crit-EE tri-trapper, mostly bullshit self-found items that I use for the 4-L, my chest is blue, my wand has like +22% spell damage and I have fuck all else. Hustlin my way slowly to the top like everybody here. But in contrast to some of the trapper reviews I seen ...
Currently one-shotting pretty much everything in Act 3 Merciless. Crit Weakness 1 Lightning Trap > Elem. Prolif (Shock) 2 Fire Trap > Elem. Prolif > Conc. Efect > Multitrap (Ignite) 3 Cold Snap > Trap > Elem. Prolif > Multitrap (Freeze which boosts burning damage). I type curse 1 2 2 3 and my traps go Zap Boom Boom Skkh and the screen is clear. I go IR/EB/MoM, Grace and Clarity, so my survivability is still awful as long as my gear is garbage. But I am not worrying about my damage in the slightest. Do you use EE? Do you use crit? it's gotten a fair bit better now. i'm 72 now farming through catacombs and 66-68 maps. Main gems are up to level 17 now and damage has gotten a lot better, though still nothing to write home about in a party. I can get semi reliable shock stacks in a party though, which is pretty awesome.
current gear
I'm heading towards EE now and shaper a couple levels after that, and then it's a push towards bloodthirst, clever construction, throatseeker, and high explosives. I'm contemplating spec'ing out of the scion life wheel all the way back to sentinel and putting those 8 points towards pressure points and the 2, 3 node life areas in the ranger tree on the way there. eventually when gear gets better i'll be able to spec out of resistance nodes / sentinel / diamond skin in the duelist area, and put those points towards blast radius in the witch area. I know i'll never get there, but this is the 100 build i'm thinking: |

the full respec in the 1.1 update made me decided to reroll my shadow with this build, and it just perfect, here's my gears:
