After Kripp has postet some videos about his "new" life based fire discharger i startet the revival of my ci burning discharger...

Avatar of Fire converts all my cold and lighting dmg to fire, so the burning dmg is ridiculous :) Even better than it was before all the nurfs.

links for searing touch in order of priority:



links for Boots/Helmet/gloves
1. ele weakness, flamability, reduced mana, faster casting
2. enduring cry, reduced mana, grace
3. blood rage, increased duration



6,3k es, 75 allres, 900mana, 15k tooltip dps

ring slot: you can switch the rings according to your needs, you can go for 1 additional curse using deodres ring if you want to

boots: same as with ring, choose whatever boots you like

weapons: you need a 5 linked searing touch otherwise this build wont do much dmg.

Curses: As long as you play solo the only curse you need is flamability with that you will pretty much oneshot ever monsterpack you encounter. if you are a guy who mainly plays in 6 man groups you have to use 1 item that grants you an additional curse and use ele weakness. this will pretty much double your dmg. the problem in party play however is that other players can overwrite your burn with their lowish dmg burn.

Auras: I run Grace only, dont need anything else.

Codt: was nurfed with patch 1.0.1, isnt needed for that build anyway

Power Charges: My friend runs conduit, so i dont have to care about generating power charges. however i still use ice spear (lvl 1) gmp pcoc (Faster Casting would be nice) to get some stacks :) and while im waiting to get another enduring cry off :)

frenzy charges: Bloorage + increased duration

endurance charges: Enduring Cry lvl 20 (with quality if possible)

reflect exploit: you are pretty much immun to reflect. on -max resistances maps just use a ruby flask (since all your dmg is fire) before you discharge, so youll be also able to handle that.

single target: either run another searing touch in the 2nd weaponslot and use fireball or get a 5+linked chest and use Eternal knives or fireball depending on the colors you have available

how to attack with this build.
1. enter map and activate bloodrage
2. cast flamability on strong monsters/packs
3. run into a big pack of mobs and use enduring cry
4. discharge and watch them burn
5(solo play). run to the next pack of monsters use enduring cry and fire 1-2 times ice lance(s) and use discharge
6. repeat 2. + 5. until map is clear

howto level up:
level until lvl 12 using cleave and two ele dmg weapons. from then on use firetrap in your searing touch to 1 shot everything. you can start using discharge by the time you have unwavering stance (or just use eye of chayula).

TLDR.: nothing changed for our spec, we are pretty much doing the same dmg.

this is the life based version of the build im currently working on, with the new changes you should be able to increase your burning dmg by a lot. this build will be based around the new version of koams heart to get the maximum burn dmg out of it.

Interesting, I'm doing the same thing, but I didn't think about going under the witch area to go to CI. Thanks for the hint !

I also thought about dropping IR, because somehow I wanted to use Discipline :/

you dont need ir... i just run it because im play it more safe

Wayyyy too much ES on this build. You dont need nearly that much for any character. You can get 5k es easy with mediocre gear off of just the templar nodes or just the shadow nodes.
Which bandit rewards do you recommend? I'm thinking of making a similar build - planning on:
Normal - passive
Cruel - passive
Merc - endurance change

Would 40 mana be better than a passive for the normal one though? I've never played a discharger so I'm not sure if they have mana issues, but I'd think they wouldn't since they don't spam skills all day.
My question is how to level the Templar until you can use Discharge and so on and could you explain how to start the fight vs. the monsters as a discharger?

Curious how this does against single target (merciless rares or bosses for instance).
