What you think about this skilltree as Templer?

Alright, having RIP'd on my Templar (Double Brutus map boss) I have come to notice the weaknesses in my build, and that was simply not being tanky enough. I went for aura power and elemental damage first before getting life nodes, but even going with life nodes first I would still have been 2shotted.
So now I have restarted as a Marauder and have bum-rushed to iron reflexes while taking the most HP-heavy route possible. After which I made my way through the evasion nodes to get the aura nodes above the ranger start. From there I played it by ear, taking more HP nodes if I felt threatened in the act I was in, or took more aura nodes when it was safe to do so. Levelling was pretty bad, even for Nemesis standards but it was god-awfully slow. The pace at which thing were dying started picking up rapidly with the acquisition of most of the auras nodes, and have made the decision that all of my elemental damage modifiers should come from gear rather than the passive tree, as the big notable elemental passives take too many points to get to, which could be better spent on Life nodes. I'm hoping that with my newly acquired Dyadus and with Anger, Wrath and haste, along with ~100% increased elemental damage from gear that this covers my damage needs while still providing max strength auras for groups. Let me know what you think of this newly revised aura build, OP.

" Interesting but you're not really taking advantage of the passives you've selected because you wont be able to run next to any auras, maybe like 5. Since you chose CI there wont be any life for you to reserve and all of your skills will need mana to cast instead of using bloodmagic supports. This means that you will need to leave some of your mana unreserved, hense only 4 auras. The only way I see for a aura heavy ES build is if you get your hands on Shavronnes, which I am no wear rich enough to own (or lucky enough). |

" I was actually looking at doing this exact thing with my build, running it through the scion wheel instead of down through the duelist area. I guess I should have emphasized iron reflexes even more, that and my resist is where most of my survivability comes from. The combination of Grace and Determination is stronger in this patch because of the aura boosting passives so that is what keeps me alive. If you're having problems with resists I guess you could keep the diamond skin passive but I got rid of it in exchange for health since my resists are already maxed from purity. I would advise you lose the diamond skin (from respec later) and conduit (leave that to guys who focus on charges) and spec into unwavering stance since you won't be dodging anything after specing into iron reflexes. I've also died to the Brutus map boss (thankfully this character is one of my standard ones) and I noticed pretty early on that getting stun locked was pretty easy with this type of build, I think due to the low life? Anyway I'm amazed that you are attempting and being successful with this type of build in a hardcore league. My nemesis marauder uses multiple auras but nothing on this level. I was offered a Dyadus to trade yesterday but I turned it down but it did get me thinking. By using Dyadus you essentially remove the need for using hatred and although all the other marauders in your party would be disheartened it also frees up room for another 60% aura such as discipline. At level 16 it adds 260 ES plus the aura buffs from passives should put it near 400 for more survivability. The other option would to be just run 6 auras with only one on life. Please update me on how the Dyadus works for you XD I'd love to know if I should make the switch
Also makes me wonder if I should lose Resolute Technique to see what types of crits my character would get with its rainbow of elemental damage, maybe it would free some sock others and light the last couple on fire. Last edited by Schmeelk#4548 on Nov 28, 2013, 8:13:08 PM

" I'm working on posting some photos of my stats but for right now I'm going to sleep maybe for tomorrow. |

Hey, did you try to take all the reduced mana reserved nodes + bloodmagic and the 40% less mana reserved node ?

Blood magic is awful and should never be taken on an aura-based build. It makes you fragile and does not allow you to carry a lot of auras. It is never worth taking blood magic, even for the node behind it.

" plz dont forget the photo :) btw. can you still run temp shield with 7 auras running? |
