1.The greatest advantage of this build is "low and easy core requirements regarding the damage".

The core requirements are
a. A dagger with high physical critical chance. Don't need physical damage! You could get it easily by using alterations.

b. 5L chest - Spectral Throw(Lv1)/ GMP/ Cast on crit/ Power Charge on Crit/ Discharge

Q: If my increased spell damage is zero, this build still have any damage?
A: yes.

5.Some information about Spectral Throw

In order to get some infromation about spectral throw, i made some tests with video. From poe wiki, we knew an enemy can be hit once (per attack) every 0.3 seconds. So how many times can i hit an enemy actually by a projectile? The answer is at the first and second video. I equiped the Voll's Protector. When i hit an enemy with critical strike, i would get a power charge with 100% chance. My physical critical chance is 95% in video. The rule of critical strike is showed in the first video. Critical strike of spectral throw is rolled on per-hit. It's defferent from the other projectile and spell.[1] The data about hit times are showed in the second video. A projectile can make two to four hits. And From second video, we knew the hit times are the worst (2 times) when you are very close to the enemy. Video 3 showed the more projectiles don't get the more hits because 0.3 second is global. Video 4 showed 0.3 second isn't shared among the enemies. I could get 7 power charges by one projectile.

Conclusion
1.You could usually get 0 - 4 hits from an enemy per attack.
2.Discharge could usaully be triggered 0 - 4 times from an enemy per attack.
From 1&2, Max numbers of power charges can be got are eight from an enemy per attack.

If my information isn't right, please tell me. :) I will correct it.

importance of the physical critical chance

First, the general formula of the damage per attack/cast is the following.

Damage per attack/cast
= [base skill damage] x [critical damage bonus] x [physical/spell damage bonus]
= [base skill damage] x [(1 - crit chance) + crit chance x crit multiplier ] x [physical/spell damage bonus]

Assume:
[base skill damage] x [physical/spell damage bonus] = S
crit chance: 50% / 60% / 70% / 80
crit multiplier: 200%

50% crit chance: Damage per attack = [0.5 + 0.5x2] x S = 1.5S
60%: [0.4 + 0.6x2] = 1.6S / increased damage = 0.1S / increased damage % = 6.25%
70%: [0.3 + 0.7x2] = 1.7S / increased damage = 0.1S / increased damage % = 5.9%
80%: [0.2 + 0.8x2] = 1.8S / increased damage = 0.1S / increased damage % = 5.55%

when the critical chance is raised from 50% to 80%, the damage is increased about 6% per 10% increased critical chance.

Damage in this build from power charges

From the fifth point at first post, we knew an attack can make two to four hits from an enemy. So i assume the average hits are 3. (ignored accuracy rate)

Assume:
average hits: 3
crit chance of discharge: 70%

50% crit chance:
Numbers of crtical strike from spectral throw = [average hits] x [critical chance] = 3 x 50% = 1.5
Numbers of crtical strike from discharge = 1.5 x 70% = 1.05
Numbers of power charges per attack = 1.5 + 1.05 = 2.55

60%:
Numbers of crtical strike from spectral throw = 3 x 60% = 1.8
Numbers of crtical strike from discharge = 1.8 x 70% = 1.26
Numbers of power charges per attack = 3.06

70%:
Numbers of crtical strike from spectral throw = 3 x 70% = 2.1
Numbers of crtical strike from discharge = 2.1 x 70% = 1.47
Numbers of power charges per attack = 3.57

80%:
Numbers of crtical strike from spectral throw = 3 x 80% = 2.4
Numbers of crtical strike from discharge = 2.4 x 70% = 1.68
Numbers of power charges per attack = 4.08

Damage to an enemy per attack = [Damage per attack] x [Numbers of power charges per attack] (Base skill damage means damage of a power charge here.)
50%: 1.5S x 2.55 = 3.825S
60%: 1.6S x 3.06 = 4.896S / increased damage = 1.071S / increased damage % = 21.88%
70%: 1.7S x 3.57 = 6.069S / increased damage = 1.173S / increased damage % = 19.33%
80%: 1.8S x 4.08 = 7.344S / increased damage = 1.275S / increased damage % = 17.36%

when the critical chance is raised from 50% to 80%, the damage is increased about 20% per 10% increased critical chance. So physical critical chance go first in this build! Another thing we must understand is that the average hits would be 6 to 2 enemies. 9 to 3 enemies. Now we can realize why the damage is huge at the battle of the many enemies.

PS. The average hits are 9 to 3 enemies means critical strike is rolled 9 times. The most skill would always roll one time to one or many enemies.

Conclusion
Physical critical chance go first.

[1] From wiki, Critical Strikes are rolled on a per-action basis, not per-monster. So each time you use a skill, the Critical Strike roll is made once and only once. If you roll a Critical Strike, you will deal Critical damage to all enemies hit by the skill.

Some Q&A

1.Wouldn't it be better with Voll's Devotion due to Gain an Endurance Charge when a Power Charge expires or is consumed

"
Reyalp wrote:
Build looks fun, thanks for sharing, I have one question though. Wouldn't it be better with Voll's Devotion due to "Gain an Endurance Charge when a Power Charge expires or is consumed" wouldn't that increase the damage a lot even though its only 3 Endurance Charges?

You are right. The Voll's Devotion offered the more damage than Eye of Chayula. If your build are based on life, you could choose this unique amulet. Based on ES or low life, it means you need some methods to counter "stunned status". I thought the Eye of Chayula is the easiest one. :)

2.Need to get the more max numbers of the Endurance Charge?

"
Malum95 wrote:
Also, is it worth taking any of the charges from merci quest, as you're probs using them all instantly anyway. I was thinking maybe enduring cry as you would max on them the most, when being hit by an enemy near a pack, insta grab 4 charges for that dmg

I suggest choosing +1 skill or power charge from the bandits quest in merciless.

Use Lv20 Enduring Cry at
1 enemy = 1 Endurance Charge
3 enemies = 2 Endurance Charges
6 enemies = 3 Endurance Charges
9-10 enemies = 4 Endurance Charges

The cooldown time of this skill is 4 second.

The conditions of getting 4 endurance charges
1.Cast enduring cry at over 9 enemies once.
2.The enduring cry was cast and discharge was not triggered during 4 seconds.

The second condition didn't happen with this build. So you should count how much battle time you met over 9 enemies once. I thought it's not worthy.

The keywords of the Cast on Critical Strike: Support, Spell
The keywords of the Spectral Throw: Proj, Attack

4.spectral throw just a way to get power charges instead of another dps skill?

"
LastHarbinger wrote:

So this pretty much makes spectral throw just a way to get power charges instead of another dps skill?

The damage of this build is from discharge. The all kinds of the charges could be got.
Endurance Charges - Enduring Cry / Warlord's Mark
Frenzy Charges - Blood Rage
Power Charges - Spectral Throw / Discharge

The main function of the spectral throw is triggering the effect on crit. The effect on crit makes you getting power charges and casting discharge. So attack speed is still useful. But the spell damage is the better obviously If we compared attack speed with spell damage.

5.The Frenzy skill is the better than the Spectral throw?

"
iceking312 wrote:
hey if i want go Frenzy Charge build with it is that ok ?

Did you mean attack skill is Frenzy instead of Spectral Throw?
If attack skill is Frenzy, the 5-linked would be Frenzy - Melee Splash - Power Charge on Crit - Cast on Critical Strike - Discharge. I had ever tried this skill. The effect on crit is the worse. The another disadvantage of the Frenzy skill with dagger is "it's a melee attack". If you used spectral throw, you could remain a distance from monsters. That makes you the safer.

6.Why i didn't pick Zealot's Oath in CI shadow?

"
dizzybomb wrote:
For your CI passive tree, Why don't you put a point into Zealot's Oath? Wouldn't you want life gen apply to your Shield since you are going CI? I'm kinda noob lol.

The low life char must pick the Zealot's Oath to get es regen in order to counteract chaos damage per second from blood rage. The CI passive tree is 95 points. CI char can still pick Zealot's oath after leveling up or exchange some damage points for Zealot's oath. If CI char wanted to farm high level map, i suggested getting some es regen. But the Zealot's Oath isn't only one method getting es regen. Shavronne's Revelation give 4% es regen per second.

7.Is this build affected by CwDT after 1.0.1 patch?

"
Br0ken_0n3 wrote:
Is your build affected by the last change to CwDT?

Some available choices.

1.Link the skills you wanted to Lv20 CwDT. The trigger frequencies are the lower.

2.Link the skills you want to Lv1 or Lv7 CwDT. The skills are weaker. The trigger frequencies are half if the skills linked lv7 CwDT.

3.my option
Enduring Cry - Even if link this skill, its cooldown is still 4 second. So i cast enduring cry actively.

Blood Rage - Actually, i cast this skill only 1-3 times in a map. It's not inconvenient to cast blood rage actively.

Critical Weakness - I chose to cast it actively. And then i could cast enfeeble now when i met the stronger monsters.

Molten Shell - I linked it to Lv20 CwDT and Increased Duration. Lv20 molten shell break after after 2301 Total Damage is prevented. Lv20 CwDT cast supported spells when char take a total of 3240 damage. It means molten shell would be triggered soon after the shield broke.

Rejuvenation Totem - I gave up this skill.

Don't worry. The changes didn't affect this build. :)

8.How to deal with reflect damage

How can this be nemesis viable without a 6 link?
As I see it, you need to squeesh in life leech. However you cannot do it with a five link:
ST -> LMP/GMP > CoC > PCoC > Discharge.

Or am I missing something here?

The method of getting life regen isn't only life leech skill. For example, decoy totem, vitality, or life flask in life build....etc. I thought In hardcore, if char didn't pick vaal pack, how good can the damage be? = how good the defense is. Your damage is limit according to your defense (life/es/resists/ar/ev..) because of the reflect mod. You can estimate your damage and then decide how much damage you can do and still be safe in the battle with reflect mod. I will post some information about spectral throw later.

The most spell builds are hard to pick vaal pick because it's so far. how to deal with reflect damage seems the question of all spell builds. You should understand how much damage you could make. The information of the spectral throw at first post would be useful to you.

If you didn't still understand, its meaning is the following.
With Vaal Pact - leeched life > reflect damage, you are safe.
Without Vaal pact - life/es regen per second > reflect damage, you are safe.

Edit: My discharge didn't link increased area of effect, so i couldn't hit the monster out of view. You could watch my video in first post. Spectral throw is a range skill. You can remain a distance from enemies and kite them.

9.Is new unique helmet, Crown of Eyes good in this build?

"
TheSamsa wrote:
Im soon gonna start a char using this build, looks like load of fun :)

So I don't have any experience yet with it, but it seems to me the new unique helm might be of some use? so you can level ST and do damage with it aswell (since the spell damage modifiers does also work as attack damage modifier)

Any thoughts, or am I completly wrong here :D

Yup, new unique helmet is pretty good and leveling ST would make the more damage. Link lmp instead of gmp is also a good choice because of the mana cost and less projectile damage.

OMG I can't believe no one has commented in this thread yet. So my Shadow sporker is sitting around, dead with top end gear (I also have a perfect Shavs) and saw this thread....after reading it all day and watching the vide 50 times i said f*** it and respect'd into this and HOOOO LEEEE crap is it fun....nice survivability, sweet damage , so much fun!
Only thing I'd like to see is some kind of single target ability but even then this thing is handling bosses very decently....I'm still not sure how it gets away without using Voll's protector but wateva low life is decimating maps for me real nice and my chance on crit isnt even really leveled lol ...i jus ran the quest to get the darn thing plugged it in and started rollin...very fun creative build...give it a try if u can swing the gear

Sorry, this is a noob question.

if you started as a shadow, how come you're in the witch side of the passive tree chart?

thanks
lol thats not a noob question. he's def a witch in the first video. I spec'd straight thru the shadow tree myself with no problem with point distribution.
after a day of playing this im loving it and as my cast on crit gem levels single target issues are getting less and less...can almost face tank. once i quality my cast on crist and find a quality life leach (mine is doing fine non quality though) i imagine this spec will get more and more enjoyable / capable

Welp from my experiences so long as you have high crit dagger, a quality cast on crit gem and quality life leach I would say its hardcore viable. Would have to take care with some of the harder hitting physical bosses but doable
