[1.2.0] Lightning arrow bow ranger (3 Auras/ life based/ max dps/ good survivability)

Hi guys,

you saw my gear, I was doing 75 maps 2 weeks ago when the big patch hit and hard nerfed life leech.

It might be better to use Life gain on hit now, I am not really sure. If I got more info I will post them. If you got more info you should post them.

With regard to Iron reflexes:

You don't need it if you got a decent base armour + high evasion. I never got one-shot by crap mobs in merciless.
The problem in this game is BURST damage which can one-shot you, except if you evade it. Armour won't help you there. Also you can use granite flasks to push your armour to crazy amounts without having any armour gear but 2 hybrid nodes on the tree. Imho the best way is not to focus on armour gear too much (maybe use gloves with 4xx and a belt with +3xx armour or good hybrid arm/eva gear), but to focus more on pure evasion gear instead.

So let's take this a bit further. If the value is with evasion, why do you choose to not put a point into Acrobatics or even further to also take Phase Acrobatics since you've put a high value on pure EVA gear so the loss in armor just won't be noticeable?

First of all - WONDERFULL BUILD :D

I came back to POE 3 days ago and ended to play almost 2 years ago :D

About Liff Leech and Life gain on Hit - it is much much much better to use atm Life gain on hit.

So I have one thing , if I am using Life gain on hit I need to go in talent tree to Vaal Pact also?Is it not working only with Life Leech?

what you suggest would be definitely an alternative, but it is hard to say which is better in the end. It comes down to this: Pure evasion = best prevention of burst damage, but bad prevention of normal dmg. Arm/eva hybrid = mix of both preventions, which means if you get hit by medium dangerous mobs (e.g. champs which leap slam you etc.) you won't suffer from too much damage. Also with 3 hybrid nodes (58% increased Arm/eva), I prefer to make use of both defensive sources. Again, if you are using a granite you can get very high armour without many items. You can get something like 8k armour and very high evasion in combination, which is best in my opinion. Acrobatics halves your total armour, which is a considerable downside of this node.
In the end it's a matter of preference though, you cannot say this or that is better than the other.

I believe you with LGOH. You don't need Vaal pact if you are using it instead of life leech. I will update the build if I have made some tests myself, but atm this can take a while. Until then vaal pact is kept as a suggestion. I think Vaal pact might still be stronger in terms of leech gained assuming you have life leech on gear as well (e.g. 6%+ on amulet etc.).

Vaal pact sucks veryvery bad. At 72 my dps with LA is still quite low though for my preference, not where I'd like it. Sits around 1.7k without charges. 2k+ with charges. Needing extra str/int from gear is a bit bothersome, I'm lacking resists because I have to get specific gear with str/int. I also think once I get a tabula rasa, I'm going to run power charge on crit on my LA, not frenzy. I hate spamming frenzy to get a 50% chance of critting and that having a 50% chance of getting a power charge.

Dan1986, have you actually played since the vaal pact nerf?

Yes I have, I am playing with a LGOH gem atm level 16 zero quality. It's kind of even to a high level life leech gem in terms of survivability. Why do you ask?

see some pages ago I explained it. In short: it's a matter of preference b/w armour or pure evasion. Both is good.
