[1.0.1 Build] Fisting to immortality! (22k dps, 82-84% all res, 90-100% phys, ALL maps, cheap!)
If you set CWDT on lvl 1 with enduring cry + Warlords Mark + Molten Shell, and the 3 line on the shield to CWDT lvl 2+ with Immortal Call AND Increased Duration, you can get a fairly solid defense.
I'm not sure how you're gonna change this up, but I'm definitely interested in finding out what you decide. I'm literally refreshing this page every 1/5 of a day to check in. |

Hey fellow punchers - I just want you to know that I'm still testing, and having a lot of fun doing it. Some quick points before I finish up and update the front page, for everyone who's following this thread:
- What a couple of people have said about the bottom mana reservation node cluster is true; it's unnecessary, because I did my math wrong. This is awesome! Use the four points that you save to immediately grab the Berserking cluster and another life node of your choice. This simple change has raised my DPS to 22k. We're getting more and more absurd here. - The nerf to Cast when Damage Taken appears to have had almost no effect on my build, if you're willing to cast Warlord's Mark. I find it's easy to do so, but I'm still shuffling gems to see if I can keep things automated. 20q Warlord's Mark is seriously powerful, it makes Enduring Cry almost pointless. - I think GGG was trying to nerf Purity...but when you give me a brand new aura that lets me have more max lightning res than I had before, check the huuuge smile on my face. 82/82/85 now. Purity of Lightning is the new hotness. Keep your eyes open for an update! As I said, I'm still testing and tweaking...and now I'm thinking there's a way to achieve true immortality through the Way of the Fist. You just have to switch genders...and that'll be a different guide. Ruby light of Songbird dreaming,

SO you are describing this build as fairly cheap but listing up some of the hardest to acquire unqiues ? f.e. bor ? For me as a new player without much wealth it is a pain in the ass even going through merciless and running 67,68 maps which makes self-farming for uniques almost impossible. I can solo piety on merciless with my duelist but it feels like slow-motion.
Was looking for a tanky build which does not require hard to get uniques. :-/ |

Dan166- Thanks for your interest in the build! When I say the build is fairly cheap, I mean that it's cheap in comparison to other dominating end-game builds. Like you say, you can kill Merciless Piety with a wide range of characters, but it can be dangerous and takes a long time. This build rampages through her. You mention that I list up 'some of the hardest to acquire uniques', but in truth, only the Bringer of Rain is difficult to acquire. This build requires no 6L items, no super-expensive weapon, no Empower or Enhance gem, and uses Saffell's Frame as an integral piece of equipment, which is very cheap. I know it seems like a lot of currency to acquire a BoR, but if you're interested in an endgame build with the power of other, far more expensive builds, this is your best bet.

Posting a low level video for anyone who wants to see what this is like since there seems to be a lack of it, no fancy gear other than the Meginord's I snatched up for 2 chaos. My skill tree so far is in the last minute.

When should I start using only facebreakers? So far at level 30+ I've been using 2handers.

I have to say, I love this build.
My main is the Blender/Duelist build. The Blender build used to use Cleave and Multistrike. GGG nerfed Cleave in the release build (1.0) so most Blenders (including me) switched to Cyclone. I have pretty much the ideal gear for Cyclone, 197% Legacy Soul Taker, Bringer of Rain, Chaos resist boots, etc. It is very easy to play Blender/Cyclone, with very high survivability. The biggest decision is to figure out which path to spin in. However, I never enjoyed Blender/Cyclone as much as Blender/Cleave. I like to smash things. The Fisting to Immortality build lets me punch baddies in the face! The problem with Cyclone is that once you start spinning, you feel very passive. With Soul Taker and unlimited mana, you can start and stop very short Cyclones at will, but this gets a bit tiresome. I'm back to having fun with this build. I can say that I am just exploding things right and left with my fists. I absolutely ran from pack to pack starting in Act II Cruel and continuing to Act I Merciless. I don't stop for solo mobs, and kill packs in 1-2 shots. I easily did zones 4-5 levels above me in Cruel, with casting Enfeeble the only required precaution. I was able to buy the Meginord's Girdle for 13 chaos, and I luckily had a 16% Infernal Blow drop before L5. I had the rest of the gear in my bank--you might as well. I was able to use my +phys Blender amulet and rings and at L60 my tooltip DPS is already 7k... and this is without Bringer of Rain. Crazy. I did find that, as the guide says, we are very susceptible to elemental reflect. To prove the point, I one-shotted myself on a big group in Fellshrine. The other major con for this build is lack of mobility, I really miss Whirling Blades and Leap Slam. Someone above said that Cyclone builds have problems with Necromancers; this isn't true, you just Leap Slam on top of the Necro and spin him to death. I do have Lightning Warp but it isn't quite the same. A minor con is that in my opinion the echo on the gun shot retort from Infernal Blow is a bit too loud. I'm looking forward to seeing the OP's trigger gem setup when he completes it. Right now, I'm basically running with whatever and it doesn't matter because I explode enemies so quickly. Wow, I just love the concept of this build. No Soul Taker axe to spend 100 ex on, no 6-linked chestpiece to spend 1000 fusings on, yet it's still on par with other endgame builds.
All the core items are uniques with no 5L's or 6L's, making it easy to achieve a character that performs very similar to OP's. No need to search the trade forums for hours on end looking for the perfect rares like with other builds. I'll have to try this sometime. A few questions, though. Can the Saffel's Frame be substited out for a Lioneye's Remorse or Daresso's Courage for even more armor? Would Le Heup of All be a viable ring choice? Also, what do you do to keep your life up against curse immune mobs? Just use health potions? Thanks in advance. Last edited by gonefishin#3931 on Nov 17, 2013, 9:32:27 PM
