What about skipping some hp nodes like golems blood and stuff and get the Spelldmg and cast speed nodes from the scion tree?
You put 5 points in evasion to get there but its still armor so? |

Some critique:
1. Why those 4 block nodes (Phalanx) when you don't do block build? Atleast it seems you don't...+8% block chance does not qualify it as one, you need way more block for that, and you didn't pick up Bulwark near by or Testudo in Dualist area. Spell block doesn't mean much because your block chance is too low...You also didn't go Eldritch Battery, so you don't need extra defense from shield...so, why those 4 block nodes? 2. No reason NOT to get Unwavering Stance, being EK (close range), being Marauder (it's not far), going for Iron Reflexes (it's along the way)...those 2x10% life nodes are there, you are close to all that juicy Duelist area stuff...and you WILL get stunned, even with such high HP. 3. No Diamond Skin, right there, at the beginning?! This is how I would do it, with US and a LOT more armor and STR (should anyone go with Iron Will, for some reason) and those 24% projectile damage, if neccessary: http://tinyurl.com/pkn7x3m Or this, if you dont need projectile damage, with some more tankiness: http://tinyurl.com/o3wfbc3 Or the block variant: http://tinyurl.com/nz4z4s5 I'm not bashing on you, just trying to optimize... One more thing: I would look for sceptres, because they don't have that high Int requirement. They may be somewhat sub-optimal than high level wands, but they make life easier. I currently play my EK with 52% spell damage sceptre and still haven't found an upgrade within reasonable price (poor as fuck). |

How about a softcore build? What would you do differently, if anything, if dying weren't that big of an issue?

can someone help me with the math? if my EK does 600dps with a cast time of 0.84sec and 250 STR, in a 4link with EK + Added Fire + Life Leech + Blood Magic, what would increase my dps by more, Faster Casting or Iron Will? I have no idea how to calculate that, but maybe one of you does...

" 0.84 sec = 19fcr, with 20/20 fcr thats 73 fcr 600 / 1.19 x 1.73 = 872 dps Now to calculate iron will, i need to know how much phys / spell / projectile dmg you got ... but in short i think fcr gives more dps, though sometimes raw dmg >>>> |

i was really confused how you could be running around end-game with only 6k dps.
but since the build is tanky as hell ! you simply take abuse until you can finally kill everything, right ? |

" well I think gem level really matters in this comparison, because while Faster Casting only improves from 20% increased casting speed to 29% at lvl 49, Iron Will not only gives you +50ish% increased Spell Damage with 250STR,the casting speed malus of the gem also decreases from -19% to -8% at lvl 49. So in the end we are comparing +29% Casting Speed to +50% Spell Damage and -8% Casting Speed. ign: PhrozenFlame
