DUELIST STATS hp 3,925 evasion 9582 (50%) dodge 40% spell dodge 30% spell block 74% resistances 80(81) 80(105) 56(56) -60(-60) life regen per sec 412 single target dps 28,786.3 aoe dps 21,029.1 atk spd 12.21 also since my atk spd is MUCH lower and i don't have my insane sword my vaal double strike damage is TERRIBLE. tried running it with culling and IIR but eh just not feeling it. i think im going to switch things up. change my boots to have enfeeble, increased aoe, blood magic and vaal detonate dead. put leap slam faster attacks and something else in my weapon. while writing this post i just went back to the ranger and WOOOW is that character just WAY more fun. so much faster and crazy awesomeness. the duelist seems to bland and terrible but it is much more defensive. just don't know if i'll be able to stand leveling him up! lol im going to upload a couple more videos today since i have the day off work. one will be a fun one showing off 115% movement speed with quicksilver and also how fast i can leap slam with faster attacks (i usually don't have them linked) | |

" sure. its basically the same as my ranger, tho i did give my ranger new gloves with slightly more hp/accuracy. and i use a diff ring on duelist. also don't have a look im happy with quite yet. i want some badass looking armour set up but don't have any uniques for it

alright i seriously hate this bullshit game.
f this game f this passive tree. my buddy had to bring something up which got me rethinking my duelist tree, and in conjunction of me rethinking the aura reservation passives. i think i have a new plan for the duelist tree which will make it even tankier (up to 16.15% hp regen per second). it should allow me to take out the aura reservation nodes and run just hatred and vitality or hatred and grace (14.5% hp regen/sec) if i need it. right now i only have the aura reservation nodes in order to run three auras with like 18-21 mana remaining. but if i don't need three auras then i don't need that cluster, and it saves me 7 passives on both my ranger and duelist. now with my duelist i can spec out of the shadow area and go into the marauder like so: this gives me +24 all resistances, +2 max resistances, 2% regen, +60 str (equals 30 flat hp), +10 flat hp (40 with str bonus) and yet only 2% less added hp, 4% less dmg, 11% less atk spd. basically allows me to not need purity of elements, meaning i don't need to run 3 auras. so it all works out. i get quite a bit tankier while actually gaining hp due to the flat amount and 2% max resistances (82% all resistances with saffell's) all for minimal loss. the only thing that sucks is its going to cost 18 regrets!! i still need 20 for the bandit reward on merc to get my 7th base frenzy charge. so im going to shelf my duelist for now. i hear word we may be getting another respec shortly. next big patch the templar and witch area are being looked at and possibly revamped so that would grant us a respec i hope. if not then i'll still be waiting. on the other hand i now have means of making my ranger more tanky. again the third aura is unnecessary. i don't need grace because my physical mitigation is so damn big already so i've been running haste, but haste literally sucks. bit more movement speed and attack speed who cares, im using 7 passives for that? not worth it. so im going to need 7-9 regrets and i'll look to turn my ranger tree into this: for the cost of the 7 passives towards the aura reservation and 2 from 24% dmg and 3% atk spd i get +58% hp which would total me at 260%. this would give me around 5,400 total hp when i finish my double hp coral rings. this is INSANE amount of hp for this build. consider i've played for a couple months at 3100 hp with no issues. lol doing this COULD render my duelist pointless. i'll still eventually level him but like i said hes going on the shelf for now and probably won't come back until after i get my dark souls 2 fill when it comes out on PC. just hilarious how you can think you have everything so optimized and a GLARING issue like this is sticking in my face, 7 wasted freakin passives how could i miss that shit Last edited by iRace82 on Apr 1, 2014, 8:35:07 PM

So I came up with this build for a SA/Frenzy ranger based on your build. Just wondering what you guys would have to say about it. It's the first one I've made so it probably has some mistakes in it but whatever.

ya that looks fine. since it got nerfed tho i'd say those crit dmg nodes for 3 passives just right of the frenzy charge SUUUCK. so i'd take those out and put them into the 28% hp circle right there.
you may also need to get mind drinker in some way. im not sure. i haven't played much bow ranger so i don't know exactly how mana intensive it is, or if you have to use blood magic. but otherwise it looks pretty good. oh i just noticed. i'd probably also get the pierce. one thing i know from playing bow ranger is i personally prefer pierce over any other support (chain, etc) because you can easily get 100% pierce which is great with projectile speed, and it is so much less mana hungry. i haven't been playing in the last couple days because league of legends april fools joke is a new game mode called ultra rapid fire, which is easily the most fun i've had on the internet in a long time. but i'll be back to update things later. i did spec out of the aura reservation and added some HP, to which now it is a LOT more. right now without optimized rings i have 4600 hp which again is insane with this build. ok i finally got my new belt which ups my lightning res. this allows me to wear my coral rings to up my HP
how big of a difference does it make? well, my one coral ring doesn't have double hp yet but i'll be crafting it when i can until it does get it. currently sitting at 4,995 hp. for those who don't know, like a week ago i had 3,700 hp and was still tanky as all hell. now i have 1300 more life for only costing about 3k DPS. this is MASSIVE. granted my resistances are SUPER tight but im still kind of in shock i can have this much HP. i still don't think this build would work in hardcore however, since it is insanely gear dependent, but my goodness am i tanky now. Oh right i also changed my CWDT set up to my gloves (since im not running 3 auras i can run that in my weap) which allows me to include immortal call. i did not previously realize immortal call blocked spell physical damage, like bear trap EK and the like. so having it spec'd means one of the biggest threat to this build is null and void. if you end up hitting a bear trap you'll have about 2 seconds of invulnerability to tank EK before you can move/life leech again, which makes all the difference in the world! absolutely insane. im so happy my build is nearly COMPLETE. been a loooonng road |
