The BIG Lightning NERF
To further illustrate the issue of items, I've done a video of a low lvl character that is OP from the first area beyond the Strand in normal. The claw can be used at lvl 1. There are 5 Unique items on this lvl 5 Scion. The same items can be used for ANY class. I've done it with several in HC, just to farm Quest reward Gems. It will get you all the way into act2 easily. The same dynamics effect the High lvl Unique items as well.
IMO, 100+ DPS for a lvl 5 character is as OP as a lvl 80+ doing 10K DPS. The Claw alone is OP and can be used at lvl 1. From there it escalates with the addition of more items. video; http://youtu.be/W8x7AUviGtg oh, and here is the lvl5 Tree; Low lvl OP Claw Build edit was tree addition, nothing impressive. The OP reminds me of a RL friend of mine. We have played extensive D2/D3 and WOW for many many many years all the way through end game content.
Every time there is a patch that slightly changes a skill of his class, he throws a fit and says his class is no longer playable and there is NO way he can do the most basic things in the game anymore. This is on a regular four month cycle for the last 10 years. Me personally? I play along side him with a variety of classes and never encountered any sort of game breaking/end all patch. As a rule of thumb ALL games will change before release, after release and will be changing continuously for years to come. If you do not enjoy the game, try something else even if it means a different game. GGG cant please EVERYONE all of the time but they please MOST of the people MOST of the time. Pain is Good for it lets me know that I am still alive.

I was low life, rf, duel totem sporker. obviously i had to play a different caster because that build was utterly abolished with the patch. I went back to freeze pulse and still trying to figure out how to increase my damage to feel effective.

" Did you even bother to look at the information, in the post of mine, just before your post? It further illustrates what I'm speaking to, with regards to how "Itemization" can have a far greater impact on builds in general, than Skill Tree Passives and Skill Gem Selection. And to reiterate from my opening post: The following is really nothing more than my impressions. Some may agree or disagree with them in part or in whole. This thread is intended as discussion and not intended to be "inflammatory". Please remember, we all have differing opinions. So instead you have opted to attack me directly with your post. Would that be because you had absolutely nothing of value to contribute to the discussion? Or did you actually have something of value you could post to oppose my position? I invite you to join in with a position that has some basis in actual game mechanics. If you have nothing to offer other than a rude posting of you personal feelings, then I have no use for you or the like! |

Embrace the change dude, standstill is death. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

I was a self cast sparker (and i'm talking, Waaaay into closed beta, when all we did was farm fellshrine) on my witch before (and in open), switched to incinerate...and when they nerf that, I'll switch to whatever the latest, greatest is. Sucks, i really liked my spark spiders.
