Iggy's Spectral Throw Build! Combines the best of ALL worlds. [SC/HC]
" Mind over Matter is in my opinion not possible to take without running clarity aura but since clarity will reserve so much mana you dont have enough mana to be drained while taking dmg leaving you always oom. I am currently at lvl 52 and played from around 40 till 50 with mana leech gem which gives you a percentage of mana from your damage helped me alot currently i can more or less spam ST without the Mana leech gem and any greater mana items like rings or so i did take the mana flows node in the Master of Arena Tree though maybe that is what helps me out that much but in my opinion mana becomes less and less of a problem when your dps grows. |

" You can start using it when you have about 500 unreserved mana. Using it with less is technically possible but it won't be very effective. Main advantage: aside from the fact that it also reduces elemental damage, the mana shield can sort of emulate having armor without actually having any. 30% mitigation is a decent approximation of the average amount of mitigation you get from 6-10k armor; the armor would mitigate more than 30% against small hits, but less against big hits. However, getting that amount of armor takes a serious investment into passives and auras that have become difficult to maintain now. Main disadvantage: you need a lot of mana regen in order to not only keep mitigating damage but also use your skills. You'll constantly go OOM in an instant and need enough mana regen that this doesn't "silence" you for too long. If your main attack costs 60 mana and you only have 30 mana/sec, you're screwed. You probably want upwards of 100+ mana/sec. Mana shield essentially serves as another base defensive mechanic alongside armor and evasion. It allows you to ignore armor without becoming completely squishy (although you'll never really be very tanky, either) and it relieves some of the resource demands that it takes to get other defensive stats. For instance, to get high armor you probably need to at least spec into Iron Reflexes and use the Grace aura (or alternately Determination and armor passives), which is a large passive point investment and about half of your mana pool. For instance, the Scion build in the last Build of the Week video uses EB and mana shield with ES items instead of IR with Grace and armor/evasion items. This means the build can freely use Hatred and Clarity. An IR/Grace build would probably need to either run a Blood Magic gem on its main attack, which takes up a gem slot, or forgo Hatred and run Grace+Clarity and thus lose a lot of DPS because it'd be virtually impossible (for that particularly build, at least) to run all three auras. The theory here is that EB and mana shield provides if perhaps not quite as much survivability as the like 8k armor you'd get with Grace+IR and evasion gear then at least enough to be viable, while being free to run a DPS aura and to use optimal support gems instead of having to use Blood Magic. The only real issue now is that you have to wear a lot of ES gear in order to get anything out of EB since the aura change as Discipline is no longer viable (for ANY build, in my opinion) which means that you are after all running a life build with zero armor and evasion. If you do get caught OOM, you have neither mitigation nor the extreme ES pool of a CI build, so I consider mana shield completely unviable in hardcore. Wouldn't blood magic/less mana reserved for auras be a good idea for this build? If not, why? Also "Reaver" close to US seems to fit this build.
Went D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> PoE. Natural progression...

" This does not work anymore, traps of the same type have the same global cooldown I think. |

Just wanted to throw my idea of a build in real quick. I am posting it here since iggy's inspired my decisions. I took into account Kripp's as well as a few others posted in this thread:
Basically this build is purely about getting high HP, high armor, IG/RT/US/IR, and being completely neutral to my 2-handed weapon choice. By the time I hit level 70+, if I find a sweet weapon, I am either next to or very close to nodes for specific weapon types. Since I'm kind of hurting on Dex early on, I might throw a point in Quickness to get an easy +30 dex and just drop it later when I actually have gear. That looks good Krypty. Im playing Nemesis Leaque and this one fits good in it i think.
But i try out Mind over Metter and see how it works. I modified a little bit in Duelist tree and come out with this here: Last edited by Ir4kandj7#5512 on Oct 26, 2013, 1:17:27 PM

" Let me know how it works out with Mind over Matter. My main concern was whether or not mana would become an issue. Plus I'm considering potentially running an aura or two (if possible - I haven't really dug deep into this) |

Hi guys,
For Cast when damage taken gem, do we need to keep it level 1 or not ? |
|
I am currently lvl 51 on this build and it works well. I just am wondering what people think around this level. Has anyone beat game yet and whats end game look like? What kinda armor you using? And could you link some gear maybe weapon and stuff? What's dps tanking look like or do you kite alot?

" Yes lvl 1 why would you want to have to take more damage to use? |
