Threatening to quit the game is such an over used and abused method of trying to scare the developers into doing what you want them too.
Terrorism pure and simple. Shame on you.
I suggest that any posts which references anyone quiting or thinking of quiting should be erased, their accounts deleted, and their IP banned.
But i do agree, legacy items add an unfair advantage.

I agree, balance the legacy items as well.

Mentioning that they don't want to play ladder is not, in fact, an argument. What does that matter? "Casual players" don't have a clue about the item wealth disparity or the impact of legacy items on the economy.

If you want resets, you play in ladder. Playing in standard you assume the economic risks involved in it, including inevitable legacy items (which will happen now, or later, but it will happen).

Granted, it would be nice if there was a system in place in standard to slowly remove legacy items. ie: They must be repaired at the shop every once in a while at the cost of alterations or something, and players have the option of continuing to repair over time or turning their legacy item into a modern. But the fact that they don't, or won't, is fairly standard practice among ARPG games.

This is not a threat... this is about people who have REAL LIFE to deal with with REAL responsibilities. We have our reasons, and we are being civil about it... you are putting words into our mouths, and you are not violating the ToU, please refrain from doing this again.
