It's a comfort link, more than anything. I can't say it's a huge boost either way, the way IIR works in this game. But if you solo a lot, you'll want it, or on average you'll get less/worse loot.

I solo 80% of the time, so I kinda need it.
If you don't Solo at all, get some other dirty caster to play MFer for you and get more DPS! Because fuck Solo GGG, right?

i am doing something similar with Cloak of Defiance and EK CoC. yes the build is a little different but very similar. i did have a question though...plan on running haste purity of ice/lighting + clarity, with cloak of defiance and high lvled AA around 20, is iron reflexes necasary?

Depends how much damage you do PER HIT. Look at the EK Damage per hit (place it seperate to do so), and run the numbers compared to your AA. With CoC, since you do less damage per hit, it might not be a must. You'll be far squishier since you're not using a Lightning Coil, not just for the lack of IR, but it should work if you're careful.

I'm curious how you're getting 15K+ DPS without speccing into crit? Is it just a combo of 20/20 EK, aura effectiveness and as much spell dmg on gear as possible?

More or less, yeah. I just have really nice gear :)
Empower Level 3 helps a lot.

If I use my other shield, I get to about 16.5K DPS, and with dual wands (when we go back to Standard) I can get to about 18K.

If I felt like retraining a bit and using RF, it goes to 25K with my best gear, but that's a huge hit to tankiness. If I wanted to spend the time getting to level 94 or so, I'd be able to do it without losing anything important.

I have been thinking about doing this build in the new league once it starts, but with Crit and perhaps even CI. Can you give any tips about this?

Why change to dual wands in standard?
