Saint Vitus: Physical crit ranger guide[Always Updated]

I have been reading this guide and alot of the replies in it but the 46 pages... and I have couple questions.

Can the Rain of Arrows be replaced by Split Arrow without loosing damage?

Also which skills are best for leveling until 40lvl?
Alright, some In-Depth feedback here.

I am currently 73 and running through several maps. If I get killed, then it is something very crazy like flickr strike or a full room of minions that jump straight in my face.

Since 2 days im testing Vaal Pact and have to say: It is great, but it has it's risks. I do not recommend you to get it untill you have ~2k HP, at least 6%+ life leech and at least 1000 DPS (unbuffed). It makes sustaining very easy, you just need to continue hitting. So some boss fight might be abit tricky.

Gear you should look for!
Spoiler
Order=importance
Bow: High phy DMG, Crit chance, leech, IAS
Quiver: Leech, crit chance, HP, crit multiplier
Head/Chest:High evasion, HP, chaos resistance, other resistances
Boots: HP, movement speed, chaos resistance, other resistances
Gloves: Maligaro's Virtuosity or gloves with HP, leech, chaos resistance
Belt: The Magnate Studded belt or a belt with HP, chaos & other resistances
Amulet: preferable onyx: HP, leech, crit chance/multiplier
Rings: preferable prismatics: HP, leech, chaos resistance, phy dmg

Chaos resistance and HP is a very important factor if you want to survive longer! You need to fight back atleast to get ur HP of leech back. Also use Purity&Grace in most cases, don't try to get haste untill your gear is godly...

Example of my current items.

Still really need to get HP and chaos resistance!

Because of Vaal pact HP-Flasks dont have an effect anymore. I run with 2x Granite Flask, 1x Amethyst Flask ( for the extra chaos ), 1x Mana-Flask and 1x Quicksilver Flask!
With the magnata belt your flasks recover is really fast and you can spam those granite flasks to always get the +4000 Armor which is really helpful!

Good luck and have fun with this build!

I'm using a variation of the physical build posted at the beginning. Trying to sacrifice a little dps to gain some life+resists.

Does this look like it would hold up at higher levels assuming I have mid to decent gear?
I'm currently running split arrow instead of rain of arrows as I got a 15% split arrow and never really tried using RoA later on in the game.

Should I be switching to RoA or split arrow is just fine? (I can probably trade my quality split arrow for RoA)

Has anyone tried both and stuck with RoA at higher levels?(maps)

I'm new and just my preliminary glance at your passive tree raised a question. Why did you forgo three 8% bow damage nodes? They are near the beginning, just down-right of Perfect Aim.
I don't see how 24%dmg isn't a must-get.
Is this build compatible with elemental abilities?

I haven't tried myself, but I guess you could use Added Fire Damage[Support Gem] and Blackgleam [Unique Quiver] if you want to use Elemental Skills.

But.. As you only pick Physical Damage Passive Nodes, I'd guess that you're missing a lot of valuable Elemental Damage Nodes.

Split arrow also works as long as you have enough mana leech on gear.

Because any other points one would replace out of this builds would either lower survivability or damage by a significant amount, it has been calculated over a long period of time and testing to reach the most optimal allocation of passive points.

It is compatible with abilities that convert or rely upon physical damage.

If I was following this build and didn't want to use Frenzy as my main Single Target....would this also work with Poison Arrow, just use the points for frenzy on other nodes?

I wouldn't recommend it. Why do you want to put frenzy away? with 7 charge, I have 7.2k dps with frenzy and 3.5k DPS with Rain of Arrow (2.5k without the frenzy charges). Attack speed also means survivability if you use Life on Hit support gem.
