Been using this build, and would like to give the perspective of someone playing this as their first character with very mediocre gear and some random tips. Played solo in general, but partied up to get past cruel piety and merciless vaal (not sure if i couldve done vaal solo but couldnt be arsed to trek all the way up the pyramid i reckon i wouldve gotten one shot by the lightning as my hp is very low)
Stats (level 65) 1.2k hp <-- all levelups from now on are going into life nodes and i have maybe 80 hp from gear 500 or so mana 1.25kish frenzy dps (with max frenzy charges) 5-600ish rain of arrows dps (no conc effect) General Experience using this build Do not use if you are unwilling to kite, kiting is essential, especially if solo and a new player like me with crap for gear. You can progress through just about all the non-boss content (partied for cruel piety and merciless vaal so far) slowly but surely if you pull mobs slowly and shoot them from max range. This includes the dreaded flicker strike shipyard cave. You will die if you get sloppy esp on merciless. This build is flexible, I would recommend you take what you need. If you are lacking survivability take the life/reflex node, if you are lacking damage take the damage nodes. I find that you can skimp on upgrading your armor as you can just shoot from max range and cheese content that way, but you should not skimp on upgrading your weapon as it increases the levelling and farming speed significantly. Random Tips Try to get 2% life leech by the time you hit cruel act 2 or so its a very significant quality of life upgrade. Keep a set of resist rings in your stash and switch them around accordingly to the bosses you fight merveil for example is an absolute joke if you equip two cold resist rings even on cruel or merciless. Grace adds a very significant amount of survivability do not skip this make sure you get it early and level it all the way! Bear Trap is awesome. Use it, love it. It starts out slow but later in the game you will be chunking even rares for about 10-15% of their hp, lay down 3 and watch that rare lose about half its hp. Party up when you hit a progression wall. I couldnt do crap to cruel piety so I partied up to get past her. If the mobs ahead look very challenging (increased movespeed pack on a mob type with high move speed or 2 rares with auras together for example) you might want to drop a tp nearby to get back quicker if you die. You can die in merciless fellshrine if you arent paying attention, I got executed by a volley of perhaps 12 normal skeleton archer mobs. Also, sometimes the mobs can be hard to see against the dark background, so always be wary of mob positioning. Last edited by poepoepoepoepoe#1947 on Feb 11, 2013, 9:37:18 AM

Hey guys,
first of all I am happy I found this thread a few days ago. I was building a phys/crit ranger and was kind of lost after spending some points until I found this thread ;) Thanks. Now I got a problem with the Mana Leech gem. I cant get which effect the +%quality will have. As I read the wiki there is this sentence: "Each percentage of quality adds +1% Mana leech rate." What confuses me is the word "rate". Considering I have a +10% quality gem will I have 11% leech or will it be 1.1%? I am really unsure because I think 11% manaleech would be hardly overpowered. I hope anyone knows the mechanic. Regards Sengalo |

" The mana leech rates only improves the speed with which you regenerate leeched mana, so at 20% quality you leech at a 20% faster rate than normally. I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/

" hmm. ok thanks. so I think it is not worth to buy a higher quality manaleech gem?! |
|
" It is worth it, the faster leech rate is very useful. It is the first gem i recommend using gcps on for this build. I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/

" seriously? wow thanks. I never would have thought this could be of any use.
Spoiler
I found this bow just a moment ago. Do you think it is worth to spend some orbs on it to get lets say 3 linked sockets to get my frenzy in there? |
|
" Yes, you will probably use that bow to level most of your next characters so its probably a good idea to link it. I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/
