Saint Vitus: Physical crit ranger guide[Always Updated]

Sorry i'm brand new to the game so i have a question about your build

#1 why do you have "Gymnastics" a strength boost on your build.. i thought rangers are pure dex?


#2 In your gem link area you have:

For 6linked RoA-Inc crit dmg-inc crit strikes-added fire damage-faster attacks-concentrated effect

can you tell me what 5linked RoA and 5 linked Frenzy mean sorry not up on all the lingo yet

Let me answer that :
#1 :
Gymnastics is good because 10% life is good and +20 strenght is bonus.
You need strenght for using strenght related gem and stenght related equipement.
You also get more life with strenght.
So a pure dexterity Ranger won't need strenght, but sometimes, it's good to have some to use gem that improve your build. Decoy totem is one of them.

#2 :
Everything written as #S #L or #S#L refere to the number of socket on the item. S is for socket, L is for link. When 5 socket are link, you can put a skill gem and 4 support gem that will support the skill gem. 5 link is rare, and 6 is increadibly rare (when you begin at least). So you better plan your build with 4L and just prepare what could you do with 5L / 6L just in case...

I didn't read all pages but didn't find a faq in the OP and no mention to : PPAD and puncture... why ? I deal with reflect with Puncture and it works fine, even without support, just had to crit... and well, it still hurts, but I find it really helpfull.

While quickly looking at the build I noticed that none of reduce mana reserve nodes were taken but Vic says to run 2x 60% auras. Did I miss something in the build or gear wise that would allow enable this?

yes, reduced mana cost gem linked to the auras

Thanks for the quick reply Vic.

For early/mid game should I be using Life Leech or Life gain on hit? Just a little confused because my phys damage isn't that high and life leech doesn't seem that useful.

Yeah im sorry for that haha, i usually dont check my threads unless i get a PM or they get posted in, i just assume that when a thread isnt mentioned anymore people have lost interest so no point in updating, but as long as you guys want updates and help with the build ill happily do it :)
