Saint Vitus: Physical crit ranger guide[Always Updated]
I was trying an LA version of this build some months ago. End the end I switched back to SA because I felt I was doing not enough damage.
Now back with the original build, I'm starting to loose interest in this character. I never felt my Ranger was really strong, but I thought it was ok. But now I'm really at the point where I just feel useless in party play. I'm level 81 now and I doubt I will reach 82 anytime soon. I am usually playing maps only. (since farming catacombs is kinda boring) The problem is, about half of all map mods, bosses, or monster rolls are just not beatable with my char. My damage is weak and my armor basically non-existent. I'm playing in a party with a spectral throw Scion, and he can basically do anything better than me. He's got more damage and a lot more survivability. It gets really frustrating. I'm not sure if it's just my gear that sucks, or if Rangers are just extremely weak compared to other classes. What are your experiences in Party play, fellow Phys-Rangers. Am I the only one feeling incredibly weak next to Melee/Spectral Throw chars? |

Came back to my ranger after playing a ST scion and decided to give this build a try as I still had the full respec. I'm level 65 and I quite like it. But comparing it to my scion, I don't think I'll reach that kind of single target dps (19k with double strike on scion and only 4,5k with frenzy on ranger). However, RoA does much more dmg than my ST did at that level. I have to level it and get a better bow, preferably a Lioneye's but can't afford it atm. Crit chance and multiplier passives should fix the lack of dps tho.

Hi I am fresh in this game and playing your build now. For the skills, I am using fire arrow and poisson arrow as my main skill. Is this correct? Thank you:)

Is this builds still viable? Cause i started making it im lvl 40+ now and i dont know should i keep going or should i drop it and make a new char?

I'm up to 63 now following it and having no problem really, maybe the odd death here and there to bosses, but I do have a 9% gap in my light resist still.

" You should use Frenzy for single targets (and to build up charges) and Split Arrow, or Rain of Arrows for area damage. Using Buring Arrow or Poison Arrow is fine as long as you do more DPS with it. But you won't need them later on. |

" I see. Still need more dps:) | |
hi guys:
i want ur opinion now: this would be the build for the lvls 80-90 btw. 82-92 (needed 2 big int nodes and str nodes for gear and gems) http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgIBAdEEfgX5DkgRlhUgFfAZ_hrbGwEhdiLqI_Yk_SU_KaUqTSzpMHwx-jIBMpQ2PTnUOlg_J0WWSn1KyE4qUUdWLVb6WkhbPVuvX-Fh4megayRsFm_ycFJw1XRBdvd3131bfwJ_K4PbhxmHdohrjX2VBZXpmyabjZu1naOgn6EioaSiQKOKpcum4KfUqn-quKx_r-uyGbQau-O95sBRwzrEosqpznHPetUA2cbcFd0N3vbh2-LL44TnVOd06NbrLO4O7_Dz6vT4-WP8S_yr_MX-uv7I i actually got 28.9 percent crit chance with frenzy and split arrow; im thinking about if i quality my 2x increased crit + increased critical dmg to 20 %; two questions now; 1. what do u thinkg about the skillbuild 2. what do u think about the idea of qualityn the gems? probably i dont need these much crit nodes then if i quality them. hoing for helpful opinions; greets Last edited by Bonezhunter#5230 on Dec 7, 2013, 6:17:38 PM

Anyone trying this build out with the new Barrage and Physical Projectile Attack Damage skills? Or has anyone here played around with the new DoT passives? Also, is this build still viable? Thanks.

" I haven't tried barrage yet, but I'd suggest to put Physical Projectile Damage into every skill you have. It scales a lot better than Added Fire Damage. Even a low level gem increased my DPS in Frenzy, Split Arrow, Puncture and Rain of Arrows. Too bad it's only available for Merveil Cruel quest, so I only have one so far, but If I had them I'd use 4 of them. Also I chanced a Lioneye's today :D |
