There is literally NO other reason to play except to find items. You don't find shit with an equip with no MF. You might get lucky once in a blue moon, but you'll always get more with MF on your gear, period. That's inarguable, it's math. Even the "efficiency" excuse isn't valid here because you can easily get enough deeps to faceroll the current content with MF on your gear. There is no PvP scene, nor will there ever be, certainly nowhere near as close and hardcore as Diablo 2's. What does that leave? Two things. Finding items and leveling up, with the latter providing no reward whatsoever save for the number on your screen going up one. There isn't even content out that high. It's absolutely pointless to sacrifice MF on your gear to become one of the "top ladder" players. There's no reward other than showing off you play the game like a job and enjoy mindlessly grinding for countless hours. With MF, you get a reward, lots of them. This is why GGG is nerfing it. This is why it's such a hot topic now. I wouldn't wear any helm without MF, no matter how good the stats, save for a build-enabling one like BoR. This weapon cant hurt one's MF, because IR/IQ stats cant roll on weapon. Actually, if one gets this dagger, and 3-res mirrored ES chest & shield (+ 3res belt), that would be almost enough for both DPS and survival. Other item slots could be filled with MF items. And not all players stack MF. For example, party-players, especially tanks, dont need MF because there are cullers in party. And 3-res 500+ ES helm is definetely awesome for ES melee leech-tank. Can't press enough how distorted this argument is. So you're saying that only items that serve MF purposes benefit player in this game? So the ideal circle should be wear MF -> farm item -> sell, buy better MF gear -> farm item -> buy more MF. That's not really a rewarding game and sounds very much like real life. Although MF makes you rich, the ultimate goal of POE is building a strong character. It is also the force behind the market which drives people to buy stuff that you find with your MF. MF only serves as a mean to end game, it's not the end game because nobody want to grind just be able to grind more, that's a shitty concept. Standard IGN: WTFNamesAllTaken.
