Perz' Reave Shadow

I'm curious if anyone is running the life based version of this build in maps.

I have not used Vaal Pact before and am not sure how it can stand up to reflect map mods or auras.

I have a 85 shadow with passives reset. Used to be Ethereal Knives with Iron Reflexes and Grace and life leech to deal with physical reflect, and even then if there was a very large pack of monsters killing yourself was possible.

Not sure what to do with the character now and looking for ideas.

I would go CI but I really have no ES gear at all.

by using vaal pact you don't have to wait for the leech regen effect to occur.
here a math example with vaal pact:

let's say you do 10k dmg on a 18% reflect mob with 25% life leech and 0 armor. then you would lose 10000*0,18 life/es yourself but also heal 10000*0,25 life/es in the same moment, which heals you in a total of 10000*0,07 = 700 life/es.

although if you hit a larger group of mobs with reflect, the dmg reflected will ofc be higher. that's why in reflect maps i either:
a) use granite flasks
AND/OR
b) lower my dps a bit by putting iir/iiq gems instead of incr aoe/melee dmg

this works pretty well and i'm not scared of reflect mobs, not even in reflect maps, anymore.

Can some1 pls explain noob why do we have immune to chill if we have only 75 percent of it? :)

P.S. Farming maps with ease with 3400 shield and 10k dps with frenzy charges from BR, having fun times, lvl 79 now :)

Thanks for your advice, just checked crafting table, it looks like my claw already had 3 prefix mods and 1 suffix mod, I guess I will aim for +AS and +ACCURACY :)
Btw, Carass price is ridiculous expensive these day, 25-30ex is not easy affordable :(

i bought and coloured my 6l carcass prepatch for about 15ex but imo back then exalts were harder to get than nowadays. anways if you're looking for a high 6l eva/es armor you'll have to pay 50+ exalts to get a good one.

Vaal pact on a life build is not as good idea as it is for es build. Just wait for that first huge chaos damage damage you take. It is doable, just have to be safer

most elemental res i get from my equipment. but there are two 10% elemental res nodes in my tree and also another 12% elemental res node nearby under the duelist tree, if you need more.
